Good morning everyone! I'm doing fine. I'm still a little sore around the port area, but other than that, ok. Haven't posted much lately cause when the family is home, I don't do internet. Being with them is more important than some ole computer. Anyway, I feel good this morning. Ready for the day. The little man goes back to school this morning, so I guess I will have a quiet day. (notice I said "I guess". You never know around here) Talk to yall later, k? lisa

Thank you Susan for the prayers. And I was very good up until Santa blackmailed me into that sugar cookie in the middle of the night. I was so proud of myself. I stayed on my diet all day and was very good. I guess I wasn't made of iron. After my little boy went to bed, I crumbled....but boy did that little bitty cookie sure was good and I promise I only had one. lol You are absolutely right about this being hard, but I am determined not to give in to head hunger. I can't be for sure (cause Noah gave me my scales) but I think I have lost 10 to 12 lbs. I guess that's ok? Talk to you later, lisa

I think the emotional thing is pretty much normal. I have read a lot of people have the same feelings. I know, I think about getting my band alot, but I also think it because it will be a whole new life. Kinda scary, yes, but also exciting to be healthy, active, and slim again. Being overweight just is not part of my life and I know it will change when I get my band. I am very excited to begin that new life. And about the sleep study, I'm glad you get that much sleep per nite. I don't get but about 5 or 6 hours, sometimes 4 hours a nite. I hope that changes very soon, cause I'm just tired to the bone. Good luck and let us know how it turns out. lisa

good luck, wanna be thin with the sleep study. That is one of the most interesting nights you will spend. I had mine done at Dr. Bailey's office. He is awsome! I will be attending the support group meetings that are held in Mt. Pleasant since I live about 12 miles or so from the hospital there. I don't think they are that close to the first of the month. Anyway, Hope you do well on the sleep study.:notagree lisa

Mine is scheduled at Wadley. When I was a Dr. H's office one of the girls ask me which hospital I wanted it done at. I don't know why if they aren't doing it at St. Micheals. But, my insurance says I have to have mine done at Wadley. What ever they say, that's where I will go. Know what I mean? Thanks for letting me know bout the meetings. I will already have my band when I get to come to the one in January. (aw-right) Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! lisa

Thanks Jana for the advise. I will remember. I hereby promise to get a journal and start keeping track. Thanks also, Sugarbear. You are very correct about the pre-op diet. I started Tuesday nite and it has been TUFF! But as long as I stay busy, maybe it won't be too bad. Little man is out of school now. He will keep me hopping. I think the worst time is going to be Christmas at Mom's. I KNOW that's gonna be the worst time. lol :hungry: But, I will make it. I have waited toooooo long for this and I don't wanna mess it up for just one meal. Merry Christmas Yall ! Thanks again, lisa Oh, when is the next support meeting? I know in January. But, what day? I forgot. ljg

Sugarbear, they do the surgery at St. Michaels now. At my appointment in October, one of the nurses ask me which facility I wanted to have mine at. Then, she said, "Oh, you will be going to Wadley." (insurance thing) So... I didn't get to choose anyway. (boo hiss!) lisa

Hey Kim.. I don't know bout the difference between the hospital and the surgery center. (my insurance covers). But in the packet that I got at the seminar that Dr. H presented, it states that if you are a cash pay, the follow up visits are free for one year, BUT they reserve the right to start charging you if you don't attend support meetings. It's an incentive thang. But, I think if you are serious bout the surgery, then the support meetings are just something you will want to do. Lisa

Hi Sugarbear! I haven't had my surgery yet, but I hope to get approval from my insurance soon.(I just need one more nutritional class!) I am using Dr. H and the team at Precision Surgery also. I think they are the best! Very efficent and caring! I just love Ms. Betty and Jamie is a NUT! lol Sorry I haven't posted sooner. Haven't been on the site in a while. Good luck with your decision. Hope everything goes smooth for you.
  24. I was not saying that I hear Jesus in my head, nor that I am ALWAYS right. I was stating my opinion just like everyone else. I do not dislike gay people, I was just saying that I THINK THOSE UNIONS ARE WRONG! IN MY OPINION!!!!!!!! That is how I was raised, and God Bless you, Tired Old Man! God made us as free will thinking individuals. In other words, he gave us a mind to make our own choices. How a person chooses, is completely up to them. I, for one, will be going to heaven, because I chose to believe in the one true living God and that his Son CHOSE to die on the cross for my sins. And I ask him to forgive me. I CHOSE too. I do not force my religion or my opinion on other people and you can choose to not read it. Fine with me. Just don't slam me for being a Christian and stating what I was taught from God's Word. Oh, yeah, MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!
  25. This country was founded on the laws of the Bible. The constitution is based on religious beliefs. If we followed what Jesus told us to do, then there would not be a problem with this situation. And I have to agree with Carol. It's not what I think, it's what God thinks. He says it is an abomination. Marriage makes a man and a woman one flesh in the eyes of God. And, I'm sorry if I offended anyone, but I'm not sorry for what I believe.
