    Mt. Pleasant Bandsters

Hi Jana, Have you looked in Paris? There is a Goodwill and a Salvation Army thrift store (I think that's what it is) I don't know what they have, but it might be worth a trip up there to see. I know what you mean about the head hunger stuff. Man, it is whoopin my tail. I hope the next couple of weeks goes by quick. I need some restriction. Or something. I also know what you mean about not having help to mount your horse. I'm 5'2" of short, round person. I wish that stuff rolled up hill. It would be alot easier to get on a horse. I sold my horses a few years ago and I sooooo wish I had some more. Regardless of what some Doctors say, it IS exercise riding. You know that, don't ya! Man, I have a story to tell you, but I won't get into it here, have to tell you some day. Oh, I sent a mail to Mrs. Betty yesterday, she told me this morning, that the Drs are out of town until Thursday, but she was going to call TRMC and check on the avalibility of a room for a meeting this month. She said she would let me know. I guess she will let someone know. They have a new web site. noscales.com. Check it out.I was sure hoping they would have a message board on their site, but they don't. A message board there sure would be cool. It would be exclusive to their patients. Oh well, I guess I shouldn't be so _____________ You fill in the blank. lol gotta go, talk to yall later. lisa

Good morning everyone. Susan, to tell the truth, I have felt like I have been eating like a pig. A really big pig. I really don't want to loose super fast. I don't want all that saggy skin. I know I will have some, but I don't wanna look like a deflated balloon everywhere. That weight posted on my ticker is from my scales at home and according to them as of this morning, I have lost another pound. Don't ask me how. I guess I shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth cause I know there will come a day when I'll be on here whinin bout not loosing. lol Better go, gotta get the little man to school. Talk to yall later. lisa

I haven't heard a word. I guess someone needs to find out. I keep forgetting. I guess I could blame that on sleep apnea, but I think it's CRS. lol (cant remember stuff.) How are you, Susan? I think the weather will co-operate this week, I'm thinkin about breakin out the summer clothing. notice I did NOT say swim suit. That's yucky just thinkin about it. Hope every thing goes well Thursday. talk to you later, lisa

I got my folder at the September seminar that was held in Mt. Pleasant. So, I guess the figures are good. I checked my insurance just yesterday and the fee that the Dr.s charged was correct. Check you later. Time for the man to get home, so I probably won't be online anymore today. No offense, but I would much rather spend time with him instead of some ole computer. lol Have a good day. lisa

Sugarbear, did you go to one of the Drs seminars? They gave out a folder of information that contained a list of the costs for their fees and hospital fees. Mine says this: Hospital and Anesthesia $9,400 (an additional $1500 will be owed if you spend the night.) Surgeon and Assistant $5,500 Pathology $31.50 (lab work) Total $14,931.50 Now, I don't know if your insurance is PPO, but if it is....AND the procedure is done at a facility that is in the insurance's network. The hospital and surgeon fees are discounted for doing the it there. For instance if you went to Blah, Blah Regional hospital and they were in your insurances network. The hospital charge $XX amount to the insurance. The insurance in turn would pay the price that they (hospital and insurance contracted) minus your part.(deductable and what ever percent was your responsiblity) Did that make sense? If the hospital is in the network, the price is most likely discounted. I hope that made sense. I get the feeling maybe I didn't explain well enough. I hope I didn't confuse you. Maybe, you already knew all that, and if you did, sorry. I don't want you to think I am a know-it-all cause that's just not the case. just trying to help, k? lisa

Hi Donna, Welcome aboard. I had 2 weeks of pre-op. It's really not terribly bad if you use the slim-fast OPTIMA. It did control my hunger for at least 4 hours. I liked the Chocolate Royal and Choc. Milk shake. There were a couple of others that were good, but I have this thing for chocolate. Good luck and keep us posted on your progress and when you get a date for surgery. If you have any questions, ask... that's what we are here for. lisa

Hey Sugarbear, I'm doing fine. Have lost 12 lbs (total) Not much, but it's 12 that I don't have anymore. Haven't changed my ticker.I have gotten used to not eating much, but I do still get hungry. I think a lot of it is head hunger and being trapped in the house during the ice. I get my first fill on Feb 5th. Then we will really see how it goes. Glad to see you have a tentative date. Hope it gets set for real soon. Sorry I couldn't help much with the cost. I know that is a real important issue. Haven't seen a post from wannabethin. Have you? That girl is busy all the time. lol Better git. Yall have sweet dreams. Talk to everyone later. lisa

    New and Nervous

Good luck on your journey. I am 3 weeks out today and I would do it again in a heartbeat. I will be getting my first fill on Feb 5th. It is kinda scary, but so is the alternative. If you have questions, don't hesitate to ask. That's what this site is all about. Again, good luck. lisa

    Anti-Semitism In France!

I have read all the posts on this thread and I think ALL will agree. It's time to let this go. No one is making any head way. It's just causing ill feelings. But there is one verse in my Bible that is highlighted that I would like to share and I will not post again. Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue, keepeth his soul from troubles. Proverbs 21:23. lisa

Jana, Of course I can't answer your question since I haven't gotten a fill yet, but it seems to me if you are PBing after a fill, then you might be too tight?? From what I have read, it's possible. But, I guess you know that. Not trying to be a know-it-all, just throwing it out there. As for the meeting, I was told that they are going to reschedule, but I have no idea when. Maybe, we should send Mrs. Betty or Mrs. Jamie a e-mail and ask. What do you think? lisa

Yeah right.... pushin and shovin??? That sounds painless to me. lol Just kidding. Dr. H told me I had a bruise behind the port, but it should be cleared up before I get a fill. It feels bruised, but I can handle it. I'm ready to go back and get that fill today. I woke up starvin this morning. I think maybe cause I ate so little for supper. I just wasn't very hungry last nite. Jana......... where are you? Working hard this time of year? lol Yall have a good day! lisa

Hi Susan, glad to see that you don't have to wait too long for a fill. Tanner is ok, I guess. He got up with a temp this morning. I kept him home. The Dr. didn't give him any antibiotics, I guess I will have to take him to his regular Doctor. (He had tubes put in his ears last June. This was a check up on them, but he has a cold also.) Jana, did you get an appointment for a fill? I'm kinda nervous bout gettin the first one. I hope I'm not a big wimp bout it. lisa

    Mt. Pleasant Bandsters

Howdy everyone. Went for my post op check up this morning. I reckon everything went ok. I get my first fill Feb 5th. Cool. Jana, glad you had a good time at the stock show. I used to go up there on occasion. If you have had only one fill, girl you are doing great. I think all of us can relate to the head hunger. I had it bad last week. I was looking forward to the meeting also. Jamie said it will be re-scheduled, so maybe it will be soon. Susan, did you re-schedule your appointment? It sure was busy this morning. Hope you get in soon. Talk to yall later,k? lisa

Yep, I was hoping this would miss us. I'll bet the meeting is canceled tonite. I just imagine I won't get to go tommorrow. Got up this morning with a scratchy throat anyway. I don't really feel like getting out in this junk. Tanner (our son) is sick this morning with the same thing. He has an appointment this afternoon, but it's in MP. He will go, if I have to ride the horse. lol Dont that sound like fun?

Hey Susan, I'm glad you got back safely from taking the granddog home. I'll bet she was glad to get home. I'll make another bet your dogs were glad for her to go home too. I sure hope the weather co-operates with you to go to Texarkana this morning. If not, well maybe you can go later this week. I have to go tommorrow at 10. I don't drive on ice, so I hope it's not a problem for me either. I'm glad you posted on this thread. I haven't posted on the other much this last week. I was hoping to get to know some other people from our area, but I guess they haven't looked lately. Talk to you later. lisa

Thanks, Jana. Right now, it's top secret. lol No, really I just haven't done it yet. To tell the truth, I haven't lost a great big whole lot yet, since I haven't gotten a fill yet, I am having a problem with the "H" word. Yes, I am starving. But, I shall overcome! or try really hard. later! lisa

Hi Jana, just where have you been, young lady? I was thinking about you yesterday and started to send you a PM, but the phone rang and I forgot. Is the meeting this monday, the 15th? and what time? I know it's at TRMH, but didn't know what time. Since I am officially a banster now, I need to go and get aquainted with everyone. AND, I'm glad you started a thread. lisa

I'm doing hunky doorie and how are you this fine Sunday afternoon? There is one thing.... I'm hungry. BUT I SHALL OVERCOME!! lol So, if I don't reply, I have shriveled up and blown away. (no, I'm leaving the inside of this house in search of something to keep me occupied) Susan, I hope your mom is doing better. I know how hard it is to loose your best friend. I had a Red Heeler for 13 years. She was my little girl, protector and best friend. She was with me 24/7. We went thru alot together and I still miss her. She has been gone for 4 years. Well, girls, I gotta git, my head says it's hungry. I think I will take a walk. Everyone have a good day. lisa

Hi Chelle. I was going to use Dr. Babineau in Tyler. He is VERY good. Things just didn't work out for me. It was nothing personal, just a glitch. I really liked him. There are a lot of people that have used him. He has a web site. Tylerbariatrics.com check him out. lisa

Hi Sugarbear, I was wondering about you this morning. I remember seeing Dr. Hekier, but I think Dr.Keilin was there also (I haven't actually looked her in the eye) I may be wrong, but I think they work as a team. The anesthesologist gave me a goofy injection just before we went thru the doors to the OR and told me I could sing if I wanted too. I THINK I declined. (I hoped I did anyway lol) But in answer to your question, Dr. Hekier was my surgeon. Other costs you might look for is X-Ray and Dr. costs for reading the x-ray. The film will be billed from the hospital. ( most likely) Another charge will probably come from the Dr's office (who read it). Same with the EKG. Hope this helps and if I can help with anything else, let me know, k? Oh, I'm glad you got approval and I hope things go as well for you as they did for me. The staff at Wadley were really great to me. lisa
