Hi Persistance. I'm not from El Paso or Las Cruces. I am from the other side of the state. East of Dallas approx. 2 hours. Just wanted to say hi. and have a good day!

Hi yall! I was beginning to think that everyone had dried up and wasted away. Jana, glad you made the mark and have started loosing again. I thought if you had insurance, the fills were filed on the ins. and all you had to pay was the co-pay. And if you were self -pay the fills were free for the first year. I have been known to be extremely wrong before. lol I guess we had better start having our own support meetings when the docs can't come to Mt. Pleasant. Would that count? lol Thanks for the update on Tonya. Will she be able to attend the meetings? Susan...I'm sorry to hear bout the leak. Is it in the port tubing?? Wonder how that happened? Anyway, I'm glad you found out what was going on. As for me, I'm stuck already. Haven't lost a pound in over a week. Haven't gained, but havent lost either. I don't like this so early in the game. I hope this is a temporary thing. I can tell I have some restriction, but not a lot. I still go around hungry. Talk to yall later. Happy Valentine's Day! lisa

Hi vlynnfogg. And everyone else. I feel kinda run down also. I know my BP is running lower than usual. PCP has had me start monitoring BP and cutting one of my meds in half. Maybe, I can quit taking it soon! I agree with sugarbear. Our bodies need time to get used to the changes the band brings on. Hang in there. Sorry, I don't have any suggestions. I guess I'm in the same boat. I hope we feel better soon.

Well good... Problem solved. You'll make it. Not everyone's road is smooth. I had my share of bumps and potholes, believe me. lisa
-
Hey Blondylocks, that's a tough problem. I suggest calling the Dr's office and ask them what you need to be doing. I'm sure they will be able to help you. Let us know what happens, k? lisa

Hey, Jana. Is Tonya from Omaha? I sent her a mail from one of the other web sites and she never responded. I am guessing it was before surgery. If there is anything I can do.......... k? In my opinion, she needs to get herself to her primary care physician and get a record of this made. (Or the ER) I was up and around the place in a couple of days. She is only a couple of days behind me. The throwing up stuff is NOT right. Did she get any prescriptions for nausea??? Tell her, she is in our prayers. lisa

I guess it's ok. I can tell I get full a lot quicker. How's yours working? lisa

Susan, I just got home. They were super busy today. They said they had to see 85 today! 85!!! We had a informal group session in the waiting room. It was so funny. But, it was also a lot of information passed around. I really enjoyed it. My appointment was at 11:15 and I didn't get to the back until around 12:30. I really felt for the docs. They were runnin... Anyway, I got my fill. Dr. Keilin did it. That's the first time I had seen her. I got the standard 1.7cc. It felt really weird, but I did it. AND I don't know bout the needle. I promised not to look. I don't know what it would feel like without the lidocaine? but I think that stick might hurt worse than the other. Stingggggggg. I can take it. Remember, I used to be a phlebotomist and a vet tech, so it wouldn't have scared me anyway. lol I also had to give Jamie a hard time, she was outside when I left. But, it all went ok, I guess. Just glad to be home. Talk to yall later! lisa
-
Mornin! Hope everyone had a good weekend. Mine was ok, I reckon. I'm off to see Dr. H today for my first fill. Yall keep your fingers crossed that everything goes well. I'm kinda nervous. I promise not to look at the needle, but they really don't bother me that much. I really just wanted to tell everyone good mornin. Talk to ya later! lisa
-
Jana!!! You can do this. Don't get discouraged. Just take a look at your ticker. 95 lbs???? That is nuthin to sneeze at. You stick to your guns, young lady and (man, I just gotta say it, sorry) git er done! I hope you feel better soon. I have figured out something... if you drink all the water you supposed too, you loose weight faster. Took me YEARS to figure that one out. Maybe, because I hated the taste of our water. Maybe, your appointment will lift your spirits and get you motivated again. I hope so. lisa

Thread: Texarkana Bandsters View Single Post #129 http://www.lapbandtalk.com/images/buttons/report.gif http://www.lapbandtalk.com/images/statusicon/post_old.gif Yesterday, 10:03 PM DrHekier http://www.lapbandtalk.com/images/statusicon/user_offline.gif vbmenu_register("postmenu_382503", true); Registered User Join Date: Aug 2005 Posts: 101 Hello to all. I think it's great that we have so many people supporting each other on this board. Since one of our patients suggested that we establish some sort of feedback on our website, I just added a new feature. I just added a blog to our home page at www.noscales.com Just go to the website and click on the 'blog' button at the bottom of the screen. Every few days I'll try to have myself, Dr Keilin, Betty, Amy, Tammy, Deb, Angie, or Jamie from our office post some thoughts. The best part is people can add comments! On the bottom of each blog entry is a button marked 'comments'. (It currently reads '0 comments') You can press that button and leave your own thoughts if you like and comments can be anonymous. Let me know what you think about this new feature, and also what topics you would want to hear more about. __________________ Dr. Ron Hekier, Texarkana Lap Band Surgeon Lap Band Texarkana ( Texas | Arkansas ) Disclaimer: All information posted by me is my personal opinion and does not reflect views sanctioned by any other body or entity. Hi Blondlocks. Welcome aboard. I haven't had my band long, and I haven't had any problems, but you can check out the other posts on this site. It might help with the information you are looking for. You can also check out the web site in Dr. Hekier's post and you can find out the information bout the seminars and meetings that sugarbear was telling you about. I was considering RNY, but I went to one of the seminars that was held in Mt. Pleasant and decided that the band would be a better choice for me. So, I figure I must be a big advocate of the seminars. Very informative. And you can ask as many questions that your little heart desires. Anyway, welcome aboard and congratulations on the wedding! lisa

Morning, yall! Susan, how are you? still got restriction? I'm just green with envy. But I get to go Monday. I hope it helps. I have a question. If you go without a meal, do you get sick at your stomach? I got home from church last nite and I don't like to eat that late at nite (8:30) and I just wasn't hungry, so I didn't eat. This morning, I feel yucky. Kinda have a upset stomach. I had part of a shake, but I still feel like I could barf all over the place. Sorry to be so graphic. Please tell me this is just a glitch and I'm not getting some kinda virus. Well... enough bout that. I don't wanna bring everyone down. Just askin. Yall have a good day. lisa

Way to go, Sugarbear. Just keep that attitude. You can do it. It's really ok, once you can have the small salad. You go, girl. :rose: You can do it. And, so yall will know.... since wannabethin ain't gonna tell you. Her surgery is tommorrow. Yeah! Go, Genia, Go! :clap2: I can't wait until Monday. Maybe, I will start loosing for sure. (fill day) Good luck everyone and I'll be thinking of yall! lisa

Told ya! lol When we get to have a support meeting, I'll be the one NOT wearing the name tag. You will probably know me anyway. I don't know, you might not. Older, much larger, glasses now. gray hair... the list goes on and on. lol Jana, just go with me Monday. I'll scoot over and let you get a fill. lol I'm beginning to get excited bout mine. If it weren't for the battle scars on my stomach, I sometimes wonder if I dreamed that I got my band. lol Did yall check out the new website? It has the dates for group meetings on there.... site address is noscales.com. It's cool. better git, talk to yall later. lisa
-
Sugarbear. I know exactly how you feel. I'm sure there are other bandsters out there that feel the same way too. Just hang in there and when it gets down to surgery day, you will be so prepared, it will be a breeze. I have a little advice. If you haven't started walking or doing some type of exercise, start today. It will help on surgery day. Your body will be in better shape to handle the stress of the surgery. It will help you when your nurse tells you that you need to get up and start walking as soon as possible. Vlynn, thanks for noticing bout the weight. I have been starving the last few days. I am looking forward to the 5th. I hope that first fill goes a long way. Talk to yall later, k? lisa

Well.... I guess it's time to let the cat out of the bag, sorta speak. lol Many, many, many moons ago..... I worked for Dr. Ronnie Robertson, DVM. Jana, knows him well. That's how I know Jana. She probably don't remember me, but I do remember her. I also worked for the Bruechner's a few years after I worked for Dr. Ronnie. I was their tech and did everything from weighing to X-ray. Surgeries, lab and all that other good stuff that a vet tech does. (I weighed all of 120lbs then and tuff as a boot.) I have also worked other places in MP. I worked at the hospital several years ago. (lab) My last job was at Big Tex. So....does that shed some light on the subject? Just wait til Jana reads this...she's gonna say "huh?" talk to yall later. lisa

Good morning Susan. How are you today? Still feeling full? Details.... I need details. lol Since I go for my first fill next week, I'm hoping I won't have any problems and know what to expect. Sometimes I am soooo ready for it, sometimes I am kinda nervous about it. I sure was hoping we would have a meeting this month. Since I haven't actually met anyone, I kinda feel like a fish outta water. Anyway, have a good day everyone. I will check in with yall later. lisa

Great news, Sugarbear. You can do the liquid diet. Just think of it as the first step toward the new and improved, healthier Sugarbear. lisa
-
I just saw that TODAY is Dr. Hekier's birthday. Thought yall might like to know...... lisa
-
I reckon that will be ok, since I haven't been to one yet. I need to go. lisa the next post is a ticker test. I forgot to fix it before this one. sorry. ljg
-
Maybe it will be, Susan. I'm doing fine, I reckon. I got on the scales this morning. 19 pounds now. I have to get some time to change my ticker. I hope I get a fill. I really don't want to drive to Texarkana for nuthin. But, I'm following the diet they told me to do, and I guess that's why I'm loosing like that. BUT I am starving. Oh well, I keep telling myself, just stay busy and it will go away. sometimes it don't and I have to have a snack. Better get. Talk to yall later. lisa
