I've had 3 fills and I think I need just a smiggin more and I will be fine. Just a tweak. I just need to get back into my exercising more. Nope, the boys are thru with their ball games. We got rained out on the last one and everyone decided to let it go and not make it up, so now we are in a three way tie for first place. Didn't make much sense to me either. We did mention the site at our last meeting. Susan was there and we both mentioned it. Don't know if it helped or not, but we did. Dr. H did send a mail to our Mt. Pleasant thread last week reminding us of our meeting. Thought that was cool. I better git. Talk to yall in the morning. lisa

good for you!!! lisa

That's good. I hope you will get used to it really quick. Getting the proper sleep at night will help with weight loss. I know I keep on about the CPAP machine, but I am a firm believer in it. I know how much it has helped me and I just want everyone to know so it can possibly help them too. It will be something else you will have to want to do. When you get used to it, you will feel soooooooo much better and have much more energy. Then you can work with your band. Sorry, I'm just ramblin. I'll quit. lisa

Now, you have 101!!! ljg

Shannon, s/f popsicles, s/f jello. I lived on the jello and slim fast. I also didn't have a problem getting up at nite. I think it was because I was using my CPAP and wasn't alive to know I needed to go. lol But that's another discussion. We discussed fiber in our meeting Monday. Yes you will need fiber, but you probably won't need it until you start solid foods. I ate re-fried beans for mushies and as everyone knows.....fiber. lol But, Mrs. Betty said any kind of fiber supplement would be ok. Just be sure to keep hydrated so you don't have problems. I use Flintstone chewable vitamins, but I noticed on my last grocery shopping trip, that there are now liquid vitamins for adults. I also use the Sun Valley brand of chewable calcium. I use it for my sweet stuff. You can have up to three of those a day. Also, you don't need childrens tylenol. Go over to the adult section and get liquid Adult Tylenol. I was told not to take Aleve. It is more of a stomach irritant. Right now, you don't want that. I also liked the broth from chicken noodle soup. Much more tastier than plain ole broth. Just be careful not to get noodles or ckn chunks while you are on the liquid phase after surgery. Before you leave the hospital, there will be a NUT come to give you a list of things you can have. I just bought a few things before surgery and after I got my list, I went shopping. I even went right after being discharged from the hospital before I came home. You have to walk anyway, kinda like killing two birds with one stone. lol And remember... the pre-op diet is to shrink your liver so that it will be out of the way for the surgeon to place the band in the proper place. Try your best not to cheat. I know it's hard, believe me. I was ready to chew on the door posts, but remember what this is for, k? Just trying to help, not upset you, k? I reckon the other girls have some suggestions also, so just wait around and see... lisa

lo2us, also be sure to drink lots of water. Develop the habit now. Don't drink 30 minutes before meals or 1 hour after. You will need to have this established when you get your band. And it will help with in between meal hungries. Don't be to hard on yourself. Everyone else got hungry too, but when you can have the little salad, it will get better. I had mine at supper so I could sleep at nite without my stomach waking me up. One of the best things I found to combat the hungries was to stay busy doing something. I couldn't get out of the house much when I was doing pre-op but you can get outside, away from the kitchen. That will help too. Just remember, we are all here to support you and we will when you need us. Today is the last day of school for us. I won't be around much this summer, but I will be on some. Talk to yall later. lisa

Shannon, hang in there... You know what it's all about. YOU! Remember that. You can do this. Stay busy and you will be fine. All of us that have a band know what you are going thru so we are here if you need us. lisa

Shannon, hormones are terrible things. I think everyone feels like you do right now. It's normal. Plus the pre-op diet is hard to do and that in itself is stressful. Not to mention the end of school. Just hang in there, I promise it will get better. You have to WANT to do this. You have to be determined to make this work. In the end, when you are healthier and more active, you will realize that it is the best thing for YOU and your family. Even though you don't have any major health problems right now, eventually you will. There is no might, you will have them. I wish this was available when I was your age. I would have had it done in a heartbeat. No kidding. You just keep telling yourself that this will be worth it and I think everyone on this board will say the same thing. I'm glad I got my band. Now everyone have a good day and stay dry. lisa

Mornin everyone. Last week of school for us. OH BOY! We get out Thursday. Well, I must say when restriction kicks in, you have to be really careful. I didn't realize that I was eating too fast and not chewing enough. I do now. I just hope I get the hang of this before I do something to my little stomach or stoma. But on the good side.... finally the scales are starting to move faster. I am so glad. It's really hard not to get really frustrated those first few months. Hang in there Sharon. You will get there. And when you do, you won't eat more than you are supposed to. You just don't want it. Or I don't. Yesterday for lunch, I had a couple bites of grilled chicken and three or four bites of green beans and mashed taters. I thought I was gonna pop. I sure felt full. Brought the rest of it home. I guess Iwill try to have it for lunch today. Yall have a good day! lisa

Sugarbear, I live about 75 miles from Texarkana. (west on I-30 then out in the boon-docks) I guess you would have to call me picky. I'm allergic to seafood and I don't like Chinese. lol BUT yall pick where, I don't care, I'll bring us (me and you) a SLIM FAST!! LOL We can eat at the park if you want too. lol Well, I just looked at my schedule...I'm gonna hire a gopher. you know, go for this, go for that. If you don't get that I hope you aren't blonde. lol Man, the next week is gonna be really busy. school awards, ball games, field trips, support group meetings, church events, mowing (again) laundry, cooking, cleaning, gripe, gripe, gipe! Sorry yall, just tired of stuff. I think I need a day off. I got stuck a little bit ago. Yall don't do that, it hurts like crazy. I had a little tiny bite of a hush puppy. I promise it was little. Bout the size of a pea. And I made mush out of it, but as soon as I swallowed, I knew I had a problem. It still hurts some, so I think I will have liquids tonite. I guess I won't have little tiny hush puppies any more. If I don't get back on until Monday, Yall have a swell weekend, k? lisa

Sugarbear, yep that's what I'm talking bout. All the gifs cause it to take longer to load and because I'm not loaded with money, I have to use the old fashion dial up connection and that makes it even worse. lol I used the links in the e-mail notification also, but I haven't been getting very many of those lately either. I hope it gets fixed soon. Maybe, their through "fixing" the web site and it will settle down now. I think everyone is just busy with end of the school year stuff. I know I have been running more that usual lately. Maybe, after school is out, things will get back to everyone posting. My little boy is so tired from all the activity, he is getting grouchy. Time to slow down. My scales are still creeping. At least they are creeping in the right direction. I have to make time to walk more. I used several activities this week for exercise. Yard mowing, track meet, things like that. I guess that counts What to yall think??? Time to go again. Yall have a good day! lisa

I think we just went commercial. Just look at all the ads and junk. Ain't it just lovely? I liked it without all the sponsors and junk. That's why I started using this site. The "other" site takes a long time to load too. Boo hiss!!!! ljg

Sugarbear, I don't think it's browser problems. Everything else goes quickly. It's only this site and after I posted, the thing sped up some. It's still slow, but not as bad as it was. Kinda like me, I'm slow. lol Someone needs to speed me up. lol The yard has been mowed. Thank goodness. I hate mowing. Got done pretty quick this time. And guess what else.....shhhhh.... the scales did move this morning. But, I'm not saying it very loud yet and I'm not moving my ticker yet either. Last time I did that, I gained. Paula, where do you live?? That sure is a long drive. Glad you are working that band. I know what you mean bout the head hunger. It sometimes gets the best of me. But, one of these days soon, I will divide and conquer!!! I can tell I don't have the head hunger as much since I got my last fill, but it's not completely gone yet. I hope to be like that lady at the meeting last nite in Texarkana. I hope I get to the point that I don't even like to look at food. Food is of the devil. Evil stuff!!! lol Sounds like I'm trying to convince myself, huh? Priss!!!!! where are you and how are you? And wanabethin??? just where are you young lady??? I sound like a mother hen. lol Yall will have to overlook me. see yall later, lisa
