Thank you tpagern and welcome. (Thanks to all of you I appreciate all the sweet words.) Yes, when it's family, it's a little different. A few years ago, I helped a friend thru this and I know how hard this is going to be. I just don't think everyone else knows. I also went thru this with my ex's parents. (oops a deep dark secret, married before.) I really don't think the family knows what it's about to go thru. I have tried in a very subtle way to prepare almost everyone. But it seems to be going over their heads at this point. That is why I have continually ask for prayers. They just don't know. And I'm sorry yall for continually hashing this out. I promise not to keep bringing everyone down. I know yall don't want to keep hearing about this every post. It's just hard to keep playing the waiting game. Yall forgive me, k? In other news....... we went to meet the teacher last night. My son is soooo ready for school. He is moving on up. Went to the "blue" hall this year. That is very important to second graders. lol I guess that is a status symbol. lol My little man is growing up. Shannon, I got my biotin at Walmarts. You can get it at any pharmacy, but I think it's cheaper at wally world. I don't know about everyone else, but I squeek when I walk, I'm so tight with our money. lol Susan...... FRIDAY!! lol Genia...... are you posting this morning, you LITTLE Okie? lol Well, this is too long. Yall have a good day. Talk to everyone later, k? Again thanks to all of you for being such good friends.

Thanks, Glo.

Genia.....just where have you been? I'm so glad to see you post. Thought you had gotten so thin that the Oklahoma wind blew you away! 63 pounds? That is so cool! Mine is starting to move again. Don't tell. It might skeer it. Sugarbear, MIL will be going home with Randy's sister. She lives close and it will be easier for her to get there rather than home. All those hills and curves to her house might be a very hard trip for her. Like I said, they didn't give us an approx. time frame, but we think it will probably be less than 3 months. It's attached itself to her liver now. But, I know yall don't wanna be in on all the details. But thank you for the prayers. The family needs it more than you know.
-
Thanks yall. All prayers for her will be greatly appreciated. Glo, go back and do what you did before and just fill in the blanks at the bottom. The difference will make that slipper move. It just might dance a long way! My dawg needs to get up and move over some more. Maybe, I'll just fix it now. Sorry I missed the meeting this month. It sounded really interesting. But, it couldn't be helped. Maybe, I can get a refresher course from Mrs. Betty. Ya think?

Hi everyone and WELCOME to all the new people!! We are getting really a really big "cast" of people. I say the more the merrier! THJ, glad you are doing better. Stay with it. I know you can to it. Glo?......shame, shame. Learned a very important lesson, didn't you? That's all I'm gonna say. lol Shannon, hope everything is well with you. Sorry bout the last 5 pounds, but you will lose it soon. You are doing so well, it won't be long. Sharon, I promise I have been behavin'. Came thru Hope yesterday. Thought about you. Wish we had time to stop and see ya. We were tired and ready to get home. Maybe we can visit sometime at the office. Well, I won't go into details, but I wanted to up-date everyone. Got a call Monday morning.... M I L had emergency surgery monday afternoon. Randy's cell phone was stolen monday morning. We went to Branson Monday afternoon. Tuesday was a blurr, came home yesterday afternoon. Hospice has been called for his mom. Prognosis -- not good. The doctors aren't giving much hope. Not even a time. We think 2 maybe 3 months. That's being optimistic. She weighed 76 pounds!!!! I'm sorry to bring everyone down. I won't say anymore. Yall have a good day and tell everyone that matters to you that you love them. lisa
-
Shannon, I agree with sugarbear. Write your questions down and ask her. I like Dr. K. She is very nice and will take the time to answer your questions Don't do like I do and forget about something important until AFTER you get away from the dr.s office. I just want yall to know, it will take a month or maybe two to SEE the effects of the biotin. It works for me. I have quit taking it, but I need to start back. I also have quit taking my chewable calcium and need to start that back also. How are you THJ? Feeling ok? Walk, walk, walk. Sip, sip sip. Glo?....... you ok? Gotta git. Talk to yall tomorrow. lisa

Sugarbear, biotin is something you can get off the shelf.(vitamin section) I took the 5000mcg size. It's rather big, but it's a capsule. You could take it apart and put it in something. They make smaller sizes, but that large dose won't hurt you. I just took one daily. Yes, our meeting is Monday nite at 7p in the hospital's downstairs classrooms. (just off the lunch room, of all places.) I don't know if Thj is from our area, but I know Glo is. Either way, yall are welcome. I'll be the fat blonde with glasses in the corner. lol Yall have a good rest of the day. I'm outta here! lisa

Mornin everyone! Shannon, I took Biotin right after my surgery. I think it helped some, but thinning hair is sometimes caused by not enough protein. Sometimes, like in my case, it's caused from the anesthesia. Everytime I have had some type of procedure done, I have lost hair. Bunches of it. But, if you will up your protein, the hair loss should slow down or go away. There are some shampoos out on the market that are supposed to work also, but I just can't see how they do. Hair grows from under the skin and gets it's nourishment from inside the body and unless you drink the shampoo, I don't see how it works. Know what I mean? I guess it could, in theory, help, but I just don't buy that theory. You can get these at any beauty supply store. By the way, the Biotin will help your nails also. Makes them strong and harder to break and split. Of course you have to wait a while, but you will be able to see the difference when it happens. That is my humble opinion..... wait and see what the others say. In honor of Helen, I changed my ticker. I know it's soooooo very painful for you to have lost such a fine guard chicken and I didn't want you to be reminded of her. lol Sorry, I'm just kiddin ya. lol How's Thj this mornin? Are you feeling Ok? Hope so.... Stay with it. It gets much better. Follow doctor's orders and don't do anything to upset the port. That is important, cause later a flipped port could cause problems when you start getting fills. gloharmar, how are you this morning? Hope you are feeling ok too. Susan??????.................. Lynn, how's it going? Ready for a vacation yet? lol Hope it's going ok. How's Billy? Still got him on a leash to keep the girls away? How is everyone else?? Yall have a good day. lisa
-
Good for you, thj. Glad everything is ok. You just remember to walk as much as you can. It will help with the gas. You will begin to feel better before you know it. Just hang in there. Hope you have a good night. lisa
-
Sharon, you are absolutely right about stinkly little boys :painkiller: . I think he just ate too close to practice. That will do it everytime. I know I did it one time many, many, many years ago when I ran track. That is the worst feeling. :sick I think we know better now. Tried to tell him, but you know how harded some little boys can be. lol:argue: lisa

Susan, mine is scheduled for the 11th of Sept. I have done the "not fill" at the scheduled visit thing. I hope you don't regret it either. I don't know if I will need one either, but I guess we shall see, huh? Glo, I put some cheddar cheese on my egg. I thought I had gone to heaven with a side trip to I-HOP. lol That was the best egg I ever tasted. Just be careful, some people can't do eggs. Don't scramble it too hard (and make it kinda dry) and you will be fine. ljg
-
Mornin Yall! TJ, hope everything goes well today. I know you won't read this before surgery, but good luck. Just remember what everyone said. Walk as soon as you can, walk as often as you can and drink your Water. You will be fine. Sharon, thanks for the vote of confidence. I get up before the chickens and go to bed after they roost. lol You know how it is. Well, when I got up this morning, to get the man off to work (he has to be clocked in at 4AM) I took a sneek peek at today's weight. According to the 2:30 weigh in, I had lost another pound. Got so excited, I wanted to do a jig cause that would have put me at my lowest in a long time. Well, I went and took a little nap, got back up and just wanted to see it again. Now, it's gone. I hate scales. lol My little guy got too hot yesterday at ball practice. Had to sit for a while. That's really unusual for him. He stays outside most all the time. I guess it was the pads and junk he had on. They practiced with shoulder pads and helmets, so he had on two t-shirts and all that other stuff. But he looked like a little tuff guy for a while. He was having a ball. I guess that's what counts. lol Susan, it's friday! I better git, yall have a good day. I'm off to the races again! lisa
-
Nope, I don't think so. Just really, really, really busy. We have football practice 3 days a week, church on wed. friday is clear (so far), saturday we have closing ceremonies for baseball and then there's sunday. Need I say more???? lol I don't know about yall, but I will be glad when school starts. My little guy is so bored! And grumpy. I have lost another pound!! That truly is amazing. Since I haven't lost anything in almost THREE MONTHS! I'm not changing my ticker just yet. Don't wanna skeer that pound. lol Yall have a good day. Susan----- Tomorrow is Friday! Meeting monday, you coming? lisa

Sugarbear, you are correct about the 9.75CM, 10CM, and the 11CM band. The 4 you are talking about is the CC's (amount of fluid) that the 9.75 and the 10 hold. CC's are used as measurement of Fluid. CM is used for length. I have a 10cm band also. Oh, and I also found out how much the port and tubing hold. They hold APPROX. .75 to 1cc. That is why the difference in our totals and what it says on the chart. So..... that explains why I thought I had .7cc more that the chart says. Glad yall had a nice place to go for your meeting last nite. It's nice to have a small comfortable place where you don't have to shout at everyone. Talk to everyone tomorrow
-
Mornin yall! Glo, you think creamy soup tastes good, just wait until you can have mushies. I had the best tasting scrambled egg ever when I could have mushies! I don't know about everyone else, but my tastes changed after I had surgery. Some things I loved before surgery, I can't stand now. I guess that's good, cause they weren't good for me anyway. Susan..... you know I can be nice when I wanna be. lol I just like to keep things lively. hehe AND I am officially back down to PRE-Branson weight this morning. AWW-RIGHT!! Now, I'm ready to start moving that sticky ticker! We started football practice last nite. I know there was one stinky, sweaty little boy came home with us. He was so tired, went straight to bed. Stink and all!!! Got there before I could stop him. YUCK! Well, I'm done. Catch yall later!
-
Glo, the meeting is August 20th at the hospital (classroom . There will be signs. Come on. Susan already knows who you are, but it's nice to be able to put a face with the name.
-
Hey Yall.......tis another Monday mornin. Yes, Susan, I said it, MONDAY! Glo, since you have lost 14 pounds, go fix your ticker girl! I have lost another 1.5 pounds, but can't move mine yet as this is from the speedy trip we made a couple of weeks ago where I gained a few. I'm playing ticker catch up. lol Thj, welcome aboard... when is your surgery? If you have any questions, we will be glad to help if we can, so ask away. Well, I think I have recovered from my 6 flags trip. Man, it was hot, and tiring. I think the traffic to and from the place was enough "joy" ride for me. I hate Dallas traffic. Of course what would you expect from a country girl? I hate Mt. Pleasant traffic. Sharon, glad you are home. Did yall have a good trip? Where is Sunlight? Yall have a good day!
-
Shannon, sorry to hear about Helen. At least you had protection for a while. lol Yall have a good nite.
-
Hi Yall! Glo, the proteinex is a liquid, so just be careful. I would call the office in the am and ask. I think it would probably be ok.
-
Shannon, did you get the newsletter that was sent out? It said the "new location and for now the plan is to hold it at Wadley hospital. Please check the website each month to make sure of the location and date for the support group." I guess you're right.
-
Susan, I saw that! At least you are talking bout something GOOD! lol Morning everyone. Way to to Shannon, I'll bet you are shopping for a new wardrobe for school, aren't you? Lynn..... a "smaller" shadow of your former self. Makes you feel good, don't it? Just say thank you and be done with it. (then you can blush when you get around the corner. lol) Glo, how are you this morning? Are you walking alot? Drinking your Water? That's important..... We took the little man to six flags yesterday. I have one word for it. HOT! and being the dare devil that I am, I had to ride as many rides as he did. His Dad took him on the water rides. (I don't like squishy shoes) I took him on most all the rest. There were some rides he did on his own. The lines were not very long and we just watched to make sure he got on and off the rides. I know.... he's seven, but you don't know what kind of sicko's are our there. Anyway, twisted my knee somehow. I think it was on the roller coaster. It was right after we rode the last one that it started hurting. Very stiff and throbbing this morning. I guess exercise is out for a few days. Everyone keeps telling me that I need to slow down. I keep getting this..."You are too old for that!" I guess they are right. lol Hurt my back on the trampoline the other day. Wimped around for three or four days after that. I hate getting old. lol Hush, Susan. I better get off. Yall have a good day. lisa
-
You can do it!!! It's just a stick. Good luck!
-
gloharmar, I see it is tomorrow. Good luck and prayers are with you. The best advice I got....... get up and walk as soon as possible after you wake. As soon as possible. And keep walking as much as you can stand it. Even after you get home, walk. The more you move, the faster the gas will go away! Drink your water, sip, sip, sip, walk, walk, walk. Tomorrow is the begining of a new life. You can do this. Just remember that! And if you have questions, ask! OK?? Again, good luck and let us know how you are when you are able!
-
gloharmar, isn't your surgery tommorrow?????
-
Thanks Susan, I'll remember that. That would make it SLIME FAST, right? lol I always try to have coffee in the morning before breakfast, but last nite I just wanted a drink of milk. gross. Shannon, I wish I was in your shoes. If I knew of anything to break plateaus, I would certainly let you know. Get out and chase Helen. lol Just remember, at this time, your body is catching up with the loss. INCHES will be going away fast, so get ready! Sugarbear, glad the "man" got his tooth fixed. Yall have a good time. Be safe. Catch yall later.
