I am so excited about my new journey in my life. I have always been a big girl and have been happy with myself. Sure I would liked to have worn a bikini but I was happy with a one piece. What has brought me to this point in my life is my back, I have degenerative disc disease, have had 4 back surgeries, and I have Have Have Have to get this weight off my back to stop the disease from just taking my life over. My last back surgery was Oct 09, got along great and feel so much better, but it is time now to get the rest of my body in the right direction. I begin consdiering this several years ago, but due to many things in my personal family life, I just had to put me on hold. I want to be healthy and I will be healthy. I begin the process in Nov 09....the pre-op diet was so hard for me, to help me with this, after I drank my dinner, took my shower, I just went to bed. Was the best thing I could do, I was doing what I was suppose to do and bettering myself by lots of sleep. I did have a couple of days that I crashed and burned, with hitting the bed by 7pm, but those days have passed. My surgery was Monday, March 29th, I was so excited & scared, but more excited. My surgery was about an hour, done by Dr Leland Cook @ Frye Memorial, Hickory, NC, wonderful bedside manners my doctor had and the hospital staff was very kind to me. I was in the hospital for 2 days and now home, planning on about a week home stay and then back to work. I work full time. Today is day 4 since the day of surgery and I feel wonderful. Since I began this journey I have lost 28.4 pounds as of this morning. I am still doing the high protein full liquid diet, but Sunday I can have yummy mashed potatoes (seasoned too!) will write more as it is bedtime!
