One Love on the DL

I'm 26years old. I just had my LAP-BAND® surgery today 4/15/2010 and now I'm home just looking around and reading all these amazing stories.
So here is mine. I've always been over weight since I was very young but ever since I turned 22 my weight hit the roof. My highest weight was 285lbs. I've tried several different diets and pills but sadly nothing ever seem to last. The most that I was able to keep off was like 10lbs.
I started to look into the gastric bypass and was going to do it but in the end I chickened out. Instead I join QWLC and I lost 40lbs. A total of 50lbs on my own but it felt like this was a battle that I would always be fighting. I let a year pass hoping that I could lose the weight with QWLC but I could never pass 240. I would just continue to go up and down... So I decided to start looking in to the LAP-BAND® surgery and after doing a lot of researchingi decided to just go for it. I was over the fad diets and ready to make a BIG change in my life. So I made an appt with strax rejuvenation in Kendalland I got approved! The following week I met my Doctor (Dr. Choi) and the my dietician who put me on a 2 week diet. The last week of my diet was a strictly liquids and I was able to lose 11lbs. So on the day of my surgery today 4/15/2010 I weighted in at 235lbs :) I finally got under 240lbs!!!!! I'm excited to see how much more I can lose and I can't wait to meet the person that has been hiding inside me.
