Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris

Hi everyone. Could someone tell me why it is liquids only for 2 days after a fill? Its no problem doing that, I just wondered why?! Also, I've been having sparkling mineral water to drink with no problems at all. Why are we advised not to drink carbonated drinks? Should I stop drinking it? Will I be doing any damage to my band? I've stopped drinking pepsi max and fizzy diet vimto but struggled to give up my fizzy water!!! Also I have a couple of lagers at the weekend again with no problem - is that really bad for my band? (I know alcohol is empty calories but a couple of drinks at the end of the week is my treat as I'm not mad on chocolate and am good food wise!) Sorry for all the questions!! This forum is a life saver!

Hi Jasmine I totally know how you feel I had my op on 9th May and had my first fill last Thursday. (3ml)I have no restriction whatsoever. I've only lost about 10 pounds since the op. I am able to eat most things although am steering clear of bread. I can eat a full weightwatchers ready meal for example. I am trying to stick to my weightwatchers points but I have zsro will power which is why I had the band! I keep thinking I've done something to it like stretched it or made it slip. I'm going for my 2nd fill a week on Thursday and am praying that I will feel some sort of restriction. I know it can take a number of fills to get to your sweet spot but I'm impatient!!

Hi Well this time last week I'd not long been banded! A week on and I feel fine, still swollen and a bit uncomfortable but getting better each day. I am drinking lots of water and having thin soups and a couple of those crispbakes we got in hospital with jam on. I could do with a bit of advice please on how long I continue to have just liquids, then do i go onto thicker soup and then onto mash tattie etc? Any help would be great. :w00t:

Hi hun I took too many toiletries with me! Antibacterial this, antibacterial that! lol. I didn't realise that the hospitals over there don't even have MRSA! Basically the only clothes Ihad were what I went in and I took with me pyjamas and a pair of knickers. I forgot my slippers and should have took them. The only toiletries I used were face wash, toothbrush, toothpaste and deodorant so I think what you are taking sounds fine. Defo no need to take loads. I didn't get operated on till after 2 so having left the hotel at 6.45 it was a long wait, so I was glad I took plenty of magazines to try to keep my mind occupied! There is a telly in the room that has BBC1 so that was good. If you want to know ANYTHING else please just ask - I know how many questions there is going around your head - well there was in mine! If you want to PM me I'll give you my email address.:scared2:

Hi, well I've done it! Got banded on 7th May! Feeling much better today and fingers crossed the wind is easing off cos that has been killing me! Frederick and Dr Chris were great as were the nurses, the whole thing was organised perfectly. What made the trip for me were the amazing people I met there - Mary, Patricia and family and Toni and Carl. I couldn't have done it without them and my hubby of course! If any pre bandsters have any questions about the Belgium experience please ask - I don't mind! Lindsay xx

Hi, getting a bit worried now, I've sent off my 500 euros and sent Freddy my flight details. I've emailed him 4 times to check he has got my deposit and flight times but have had no reply. I fly on Thursday and am really starting to wonder if it is going to happen...........Hubby thinks we have been scammed...................

Hi shoes, we are doing the package with Dr Chris so we should be in same hotel as you. I just hope my liver is shrinking enough! I only started my low fat diet yesterday (it was my Birthday at the weekend!) I've sent my 500 euros to Freddie and have told him my flight times but have heard nothing back from him since :scared2:

Hi shoes, Is your sister in law Mary? If so I spoke to her in the chat room the other day! It would be great to bump into you guys. What is the hotel called that we are staying in? Is a low fat diet prior to op okay? I see a lot of people do milk diets etc but Dr Chris just said low fat. Thanks Lindsay

:scared2:OMG I've gone and done it! Operation booked for 7th May, 500 Euros winging its way to Freddy, leave booked, flights picked (booking tomoorow ash permiting!) When I try to imagine myself in the operating theatre my tummy flips and I can't actually see myself there! I am so scared, so nervous. What are good things to take? I've got on my list, a mug, cup a soups, ready made slimfasts, neurofen melts......My hubby is coming with me but I haven't told my parents and feel bad about lying to them (they are looking after my Son, 3 cats and 1 dog and think we are going to Edinburgh for a long weekend)
