I would call your doctor tomorrow and tell him that you are still in pain, there might very well be something wrong that he can't see unless he does an x-ray. I myself had surgery on May 6th and have felt no pain like this at all, so just take your pain meds, sleep on it, and call in the morning. Keep us posted. I am sorry you are having such a hard time with it. The only other thing I could suggest it might be is gas pain, but from the way you described it, I'm not exactly sure.

Oh man, maybe I should start saving my change now for a boob job, lol. It's okay though, I'd rather be healthy and worry about the girls later, or that's how I should feel anyway.

I had my surgery on May 6th and have lost about 25 pounds now, and nearly an entire cup size! I'm starting to wonder if my boobs will be gone before my belly fat! Please tell me I have some women in my shoes. My boobs and my eyes were my best asset when I was 264 pounds, I'm so insecure with myself and only becoming more so since I'm losing what I thought to be one of the few physical features that made me, well me. Hopefully when I start losing pants sizes I'll feel differently about it, but I loved my boobs, so sad to see them go! Tell me I'm not alone!

What is your favorite diet-friendly, non-carbonated alcoholic drink?
AllieBearRocks replied to sawyer77's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I stick to vodka cran, and since the band I can only drink 2 max and be completely tipsy, I used to be obsessed with beer, but I tried it a few weeks ago and must have lost my taste for it, which it wonderful since I don't need the calories! -
NASTY Pre-Op Protein Shakes
AllieBearRocks replied to Jenna22's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I added a few drops of vanilla extract and a quarter of a banana to mine, and ice to make it foamy and it wasn't great, but better than chalky. I'm not sure about strawberries, maybe a few, but I know they have sugar in them, you could try strawberry extract. -

I Did and You Can
AllieBearRocks replied to Makulafamy's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Absolutely amazing! Thank you SO much for this thread, you look fantastic! You are an inspiration to me! I was just banded on the 6th, and I needed a reminder why I decided to do this to myself, and you sure fed my fire! I can only hope my success pans out like yours did, keep up the good work! -
I don't always have a blender with me to make Protein shakes, so I bought a few blender cups with the wire ball in them to mix better, and dare I say it, they work almost as well as my blender and the clean-up is a breeze since they are dishwasher safe... Well I was on my daily site called slickdeals and I noticed they have the exact same one's I bought for a pretty decent deal. I think they are a must have for all weight-loss surgery patients, and I swear by them so I thought I'd share the link with you. I hope it's not against the rules to share links, and if so, then I'm sorry, but here it is. And there's a code to get $5 off as well. iHerb.com has 28 oz. Blender Bottle with Blender Ball for $8.99 - $5 with code ULO176 = $3.99. Shipping is $2. Note: You may need to create a new acct to use the code. http://www.iherb.com/Search?kw=blender%20bottle

it might have something to do with the fact you haven't had a bowel movement. The first day I ate an egg I didn't have any trouble. I would call your doctor tomorrow and ask, and maybe describe where the pain is in your stomach, and has it been constant after you eat? I haven't felt anything like this, but maybe other bandsters have. Good luck!

open incision-anyone have this issue?
AllieBearRocks replied to thin in 2011's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wouldn't worry about it if it isn't pussy or red around the edges. If you develop a high fever or it starts to streak red then I would worry. I am having the same situation with 2 of my incisions and that's what my surgeon told me. He also told me to put neosporin on it and a clean band-aid every day to keep bacteria out. -
Hey all, I had surgery May 6th and feel great, aside from where my port is. I stopped taking the pain meds because I don't feel I need them anymore, and I was doing well on full liquids so my surgeon told me to advance at my own pace, I can eat pretty much anything as of now, well from what I have tried anyway, I am def taking things slow. My only concern is on my left side, where the port is, whenever I walk or get up from a sitting position it feels like it's not in the right spot, like maybe it's moving around. I'm concerned that it's possibly gotten disconnected from where it should be and it is just flopping around in my body? My surgeon's office is closed today so I won't get to talk to anyone until Monday, and I was planning on going out with my boyfriend tonight to watch a movie, but I'm really worried. I feel like I have to hold my stomach when I walk to keep it in place. I'm praying this is just me being paranoid and the feeling is normal, but I really have no idea. I searched and searched and found no other thread like this except for people who had ripped the port and were in extreme pain. I am not in extreme pain, although it is not comfortable, it's def tolerable. Anyone else experience anything like this? And any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Question about my port?
AllieBearRocks replied to AllieBearRocks's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you for your reply! That makes a ton of sense. Good to know. -
Nothing like this happened to me, and in the directions I was given after surgery it says that if you vomit or foam at all to call your surgeon and let him know. Just to be safe that is what I would do. Although the small sip thing is common sense, just keep taking smaller and smaller sips and see if that helps. But def call your doctor and ask for his advice. I hope you feel better soon!

Question about my port?
AllieBearRocks replied to AllieBearRocks's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I will try that, although I did finally break down and take pain meds cause I needed to drive I had stopped taking them, and they help a ton, I hardly notice the feeling of it "moving" now, so I guess I should stay on them a few more days and try not to move around too much. -
Question about my port?
AllieBearRocks replied to AllieBearRocks's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you so much for your response Betsy! I feel silly now for not seeing the zillions of other threads titled nearly the same as mine, lol. I must have done the search wrong, but I am def going to take it easy the next few weeks, no heavy lifting :w00t: -
All I have eaten today
AllieBearRocks replied to Nean4488's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did the exact same thing during my pre-op, and had no problems. Just be sure you do what your surgeon wants, and I don't think you'll have any problems. I think the reason why you're not so hungry is because your stomach has shrank some, the same thing happened to be, but water def helped me curb the hunger, so I drank A LOT. GL on your pre-op! -
Hello everyone. My name is Allie. I have been lurking here for a while, but finally decided to start posting. I'm 22 years old and 264 pounds. Finally ready to make a change that is going to better my life and my future. I have been to my psych evaluation and the nutritionist already, just have to see a sleep doctor and I'm going to be submitted to insurance. I'm really nervous, but excited at the same time. Also I can't help but feel worried about if I fail at this too, I have only failed at weight loss before in my life. I know this is the right decision for me, but I hope I can do it.

Starting my journey
AllieBearRocks replied to AllieBearRocks's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I went to an off-site hospital called journeylite. My doctor is Ahmad, he is off fallbrook on the northwest side, if you'd like his number or anymore info, please send me a private message. Nice to meet you by the way, lol -
Starting my journey
AllieBearRocks replied to AllieBearRocks's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Yeah I'm feeling a little better today, took a shower and walked around, I think most of the gas is gone now, so I might be able to sleep through the night tonight. I even managed to eat some tomato soup earlier and it made my stomach stop growling, even though I didn't feel hungry or want to eat. I do feel better, and realize I will only keep feeling better, thanks for the encouragement! -
If this were me, I would talk to your previous doctor. You paid, so it's not fair that he is going to rip you off and not pay attention to you. I wouldn't say anything mean, or burn bridges with him, but I would definitely address your concerns about it. It's only fair, and if he was ripping you off, repercussions should be handled.

Pain under left rib!!!! OUCH
AllieBearRocks replied to jen36's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had surgery on the 6th, and feel this exact same pain. I think it's just gas, but am not 100% sure. I haven't eaten enough of anything to stretch my pouch, so I don't think that's it. But then sometimes when I drink water it happens, so I think it might be because I took 2 big of a drink, or drank 2 quickly. I'm going to call my doctor about it in a few hours. -
Banded May 5 and STARVING!!!
AllieBearRocks replied to amey_idaho's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I didn't realize I was hungry until my stomach started growling, but I didn't have any appetite. So I decided to try something other than broth. I had surgery on the 6th, and I just tried sugar free applesauce with no problems, but last night I tried cream of potato with 2 cans milk, so it was really soupy, and blended it in the blender so all the potatoes weren't solid, and it was heaven. Of course I can only eat like 1/4 cup before I'm full, just take it easy, it's what you feel like you can handle, unless your doctor instructed you otherwise, then just find things to do that will keep you busy. -
Starting my journey
AllieBearRocks replied to AllieBearRocks's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Thanks you for your post Erika! I finally had some relief after a mile long walk, lol. I'm sore, but hopefully I can sleep through the night tonight because of it. I will try the heating pad and keep my hopes high  -
Starting my journey
AllieBearRocks replied to AllieBearRocks's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Yeah I pretty much did. Ask your surgeon before if you have to pee, lol. They said they had to be sure I wasn't prego, which I was actually on my period the same day and I have an implant birth control that stays in me for 3 years, so it really made me mad.
