    Slippage prognosis

Hi..I also have a slipped band....I had all Vivian's symptoms while it was slipping I guess....now it is like it is not even there...I was with PPO Oklahoma when I got the surgery but they switched to BCBS just Jan 1...they are declining to pay for the corrective surgery saying that there is no show of need????..we are now appealing so any help would be appreciated....my lap band has never worked from what I hear from everybody else as proper as I have never felt true restriction and I am filled well over 4cc in a 4cc band with no restriction now...anyways just wanted to let everybody know that sometimes with slippage you have no symptoms..the band just doesn't work..please everybody pray for me that insurance will cover it as I am well over 75K in debt from a failed business Thanks Kim

    slipped band

:help: Where to begin...well, I have had no restriction for a while now...my 4 cc band was filled way past so they did an upper GI scan and saw that I have a slipped band...they are going to do surgery in a week or so...anybody else that has been through this if you could please let me know...is this going to be like the first go around...what can I expect...etc etc...I can only guess that when I had thyroid surgery a while back and I got real bad reflux that this caused it...don't know

    Free Lap Band

I think that is a great thought but I can definately see some problems...what if God forbid the person dies during surgery.. I say save it for some cosmetic work after and your gym fees now...plus all the new clothes you will need...or you can help people with their food, fills, etc....something you couldn't get sued over...Good Luck!

    Need Advice Please

No they did not mention any of those tests but I will be to them....I am worried that I have a leak

who pays to fix a leak?

I also have a 4cc band and am over 4cc with no restriction so I know how you feel...I have been getting filled for a year now every few weeks or so and paying 50 a whack for no fill
  9. OK had my surgery a year and 9 mo ago...have lost 70 lbs but have had very little restriction...I have to get fills every 2 months or sooner and they do not last but a week or 2 it seems...and it's weak anyways..I am supposed to have a 4cc band but I am over that now and the Dr is confused...she was going to pull my chart and make sure I didn't have a 10cc band...the problem is that she was not keeping good reords of my fills because she was using a small needle..2 fills ago I had massive reflux at night but could eat anything during the dayl...anybody had these problems with fills not lasting and what did you do...also I think I should find a new Dr..any help would be appreciated...PS I have not lost any weight in 3 months and have been working out real good and following my bandsters rules...thanks

    Old bandsters and slow losers.

I too lose slooooow....BUT I have lost 70 lbs in a year and a half and I could never do that before... SO... I will take it...with me a fill lasts 2 months at the max...I workout almost daily on weights or cardio and still lose 2 lbs a month max..good luck to us:)

    Frightend Man

Don't be frightened...it is quick and painless...my biggest problem was feeling like a tick about to pop for a week..Good Luck and do some deep breathing
  12. I was banded March 2005....took me a looooooong time to get restriction...I need fills all the time:)
  13. Good Luck! The first week after surgery was not great for me...I was like a tick about to pop...but I am 70lbs down and would do it again in a heartbeat.
  14. Hello from Oklahoma City...just wanted to say good luck with your journey...I am 70 lbs down and although my journey has been slow I would do it again in a heartbeat
