Woulda, Shoulda Coulda's

Keep your Vicodin handy! Wow when I was a couple weeks post op, I remember eating soft foods and the sharp pain in my left shoulder that came soon after. I still get this pain from time to time when I overeat, but it's duller than it was right after surgery. Also, I recommend something to wrap around your abdomen, I used a large ace bandage for a couple weeks. For some reason the pressure it created made it bareable for me to leave the house. -
Losing Motivation

I'm not really in my sweet spot, and I'm kind of afraid to get another fill because I've had two unfills so far, and I don't want to go back to throwing everything up. My band could be tightened a little more, but my doc is an hour away, so it's not easy to get back there if I need an unfill. I feel like my lap band is somewhat successful, based on the fact that I realized I was so over weight and need to make a lifestyle change. But after all the pain, throwing up, and plateau in weight loss, I almost don't find it worth it anymore. I've recently rediscovered Subway again, so that's been my latest addiction. (and of course picking out some of that bread, being bad for the lap band and all). -
Can your stomach become swollen? Painful?

Thanks! I will do that. I've gained a little weight back after my unfill, but it is only about 3 or 4 pounds. -

I think I overate A LOT this past 4th of July weekend. Since Monday it has become painful when I eat and foods aren't going down very well. I haven't had a fill in a while and I was doing great with solids till just recently. I've been banded since March 25th and never had any problems like this except for when I was too tight and had to have an unfill. -
I think I lost like just a few pounds when I got my first fill. There wasn't much restriction, so I was hungry all the time which led to some snacking. After my second fill I felt a little restriction. Right now I am too full and can barely drink, which has led to a 16 pound weight loss in 2 weeks. I am going to the doc tomorrow to have some liquid taken out. You probably just need another fill. How many CC's are in your band? I have 7cc and it's too much, at my last fill I was 5.8cc, so I need to be somewhere in between there.

Thnx for ur reply! How much did they take out? -
What should I expect? And what was your weight loss during the first week after surgery? I was banded on March 25th and have lost 10 pounds so far, is that average?

Has anyone overeaten too soon after surgery or progressed too quickly after surgery??

I'm kinda in the boat as you. I was banded last Thursday, and I wasn't hungry the first few days, but now I get hungry between meals. I drink mostly skim or 1% milk...because I hate chicken broth, but I have cheated a little and had half a slice of bread (twice). I haven't felt full yet, nor have I had a my first fill.
