I will be banded 9:50am tomorrow

i thought i was the only one who worried about that. lol i said my 'goodbyes' and told my sons how proud i was of them and how much they meant to me. they were like..mom you are going to be FINE...but hey you never know.. lol the worrying is more than the actual surgery! I will pray that everything comes out hunky dory and i'm looking forward to hearing from you tomorrow or the next day! God bless! ~Fran
  3. i've started by walking (since being banded) before that i did water aerobics 3 times a week and zumba 2 times a week. I hope to get back to zumba at the end of this month. It's so fun and of course you can go at your own pace. I tell you what..it makes you sweat! I've tried sweating to the oldies with Richard Simmons but it's just not motiving enough. Good luck with whatever you choose!

What to mix with Vanilla Protein?

i put bananas and strawberries. I even tried puttin some cocoa powder, tasted pretty good. Are you mixing with milk or water? i tried with water and it was disgusting...so i add 1% milk

Protein Shake FROTH...how do you stop it???

hey there...yeah i was the same way..i didn't like the froth either...all i did was let it sit for a while..of course it was room temp but was so much better than trying to fight the froth. i guess after it dissolves you could put ice cubes in it.
  6. hi Qtney...i'm sorry to hear about your husband..i pray he heals quickly! I've found myself in similar situation (well about not having the right food..not husband) i bought some protein bars and they are great..made by snickers! yay! that holds me over til i get home and i can make something healthy. It's hard to do but I don't want to fall into the same rut as before..ya know? Right now since I've started regular food I've stopped losing weight but haven't gained. I hope things get better for you guys! keep in touch

Tracy..i tried it one time and it was pretty good..i mean you know it won't taste like potatoes..lol i did it like i do potatoes though..boiled it then used a masher with a lil bit of butter/salt/pepper...i could eat it again but my family wasn't too excited about them!

    Believe in Yourself!

Brina...i hear ya about having will power...i never thought i could smell all my favorite foods and NOT give in. Well wait..you are pre op right? ok i admit i did give in then but now that i'm post op..no way..mostly coz i'm afraid of it gettin stuck. I'm a big baby! It's hard for me to still have to cook for my family and just sit at the table with a shake! BUT i know it'll all be soooo worth it in the long run. keep in mind all [well most] of the discomfort you will go through is normal. i thought the gas would never go away but tadaaaa it does!!

    Couple of things

gracie..i'm sure burgers and pizza will be in our future...but instead of a double quarter pounder we will be able to get a lil cheeseburger instead....tht is what i'm looking forward to..that way i won't 'crave' things i will just have a bite or two. I absolutely love churchs chicken..i could eat 5 pieces in one sitting..now if i were to buy some..I'd get maybe a drumstick. that is a big difference... i'm 8 days post op and am still on liquids. I get to start 'mushies' on sat...i can't wait!!!

Is Anyone "not using" their Band?

maybe that she no longer needs fills to stop her from eating?? maybe she has it down pack now? it would be nice to know though..
  18. Hi Raychie...i'm doing good today..thanks! what about you? when were you banded? I'm excited to get past this stage so i can start this wonderful journey! I know the mental part is the hardest thing I have to work on..when i feel full on a lil piece of chicken [when i get to that stage] my mind is going to tell me..huh? what the frank? we can eat a WHOLE lot more than that! heehee.

  21. when i married my second husband i was 220 but have put on about 30 lbs in 4 years. Now let me give you a lil back ground on my husband. He was married 21 years before me to a lady that was 320 and she had gastric bypass..well of course she was confident in her looks and believed the grass was greener on the other side. Well while he was in Iraq she moved her boyfriend in. So when he got home..instead of a welcome home party ..he was looking for a place to live! well now he is extremely worried the same thing will happen to us. I have assured him that this will NOT happen. I have no desire to check out someone elses yard! Not only is this new for me..it's opening old wounds for him. Now the doc told me i should get down to 140 to be in my target bmi range. My husband said that is too skinny for his liking!! lol Funny thing is that his 'fantasy woman' , Salma Hyeck, is smaller than that and he thinks she's beautiful...why wouldn't he want me like that? Well granted i don't have the hoots..lol anyway I thought this was a cute thread and wanted to share.
  22. ouch...yeah my doc said to take all my pills dissolved in water. although i have three that are so tiny i just swallow those. good luck to ya!! i would of thought the hot chocolate would of dissovled it.
  23. I have never tried cottage cheese OR cream of wheat [those are on my diet now] so i have no idea..i'd look on the food network and do a search..i'm sure they have to have something..especially paula deen..lol

What kind of exercise are you doing?

Sndy..omg girl..you should try it..it has you sweating like a pig but it's soooo fun. Maryk..wow you are very active! that is awesome. I've tried the eliptical but it's so hard on my knees..my first marriage we'd dance to this kind of music..my second husband doesn't really know how to dance to it so it feels great to get out and shake my bon bon..although i've got the dvd's it's much more fun to do it with other people! keep up the great work outs!
