Looking for a Southern Buddy!! I was banded Dec. 31, 09 and I've only lost 30 lbs. I just got my fills right 3 weeks ago and I'm having trouble making right food choices. i'm really eating anything I can get down. Anyone else out there from the south that faces the same obsticles, ie: Fried this fried that!! Help:blink:

I live in McComb, Ms, approx 90 miles due north of new orleans. Just over the MS/LA line. I would love to have a buddy from the same region as me. I think we face different challenges than other folks. Don't you?? When is your surgery date??

I really need a buddy from the south. :cheers2: We face different challenges that most of the rest of the country does have to deal with. Mainly Southern Food!!! Fried this fried that, Sweet tea, banana pudding, ect., need I say more?? :tt1:My surgery date was Dec. 31, 2009. I go back to my Dr. for another fill. Still trying to get that right. Been a slow process, and I'm getting discouraged. :scared2: I need others to bond with that are facing the same obsticles.

I'm glad to hear from you. I have a nursing background, so I also know how to eat properly!! But obviously I did'nt!! :w00t: I was banded Dec 31, 09 and have only lost 28 lbs. :frown: I just got my fills right 1 week ago and now I am really doing what I wished for. i can't eat more than 1/2 cup. Yahoo!!:wink:

I had my 4th fill 1 wk ago today. For the first few days I could only get liq. down. As the days have passed I been getting better, My hsp & I went out to eat last night and I only got soup because I was afraid to try anythig else and I did just fine. Today I can eat most anything (in small Qtys of course) so this is really new to me even though my band date was Dec. 31, 09 I am just now at my sweet spot?? Anyone else get better after a week?? Will it get any losser??:w00t:

I can totally relate!! I just got my fills right after being banded Dec. 29, 09. I am so afraid to eat in public. I never know when I will get plugged!!! It is not a pretty sight, oh my!! My hsb. loves to eat out, but I've told him to give a little while to get use to this. Let me know if yours gets better.:thumbup:

You sound just like me. I was banded Dec. 31, 09. lost 15 lbs the first 2 weeks, Been getting fills every 2 months with hardly any restriction. and only losing another 8 lbs. :thumbup: I went yesterday for another fill and I got too much!!:thumbup: I drank some water after I got in my car and it came up through my nose!!!! Yuk !!! :biggrin: So I wen't back in the Dr. Office and they removed some and now I have really good restriction. I have found out this is a strange thing getting it right. I did not have good restriction @ 7.5cc in an 11 cc band. Now I have 8.5 and it's just right.:thumbup: So hang in there.

Hey, where in North Al are you?? My hsb's family lives in Tuscaloosa, Huntsville, Decatur and Athens. glad to have you with us. We will be your buddy!!:smile: I went back to my Dr. yesterday for my last fill?? :smile2: I think it maybe too tight. Can't eat more than one bite every 30 min. O'h well maybe thats what I need to jump start me. I've been a slowwww loserrrrr!! Let me know about your progress.

Hey Nawlins lady, hang in there. It took me 6 months for ins. junk before I got my date. It seemed like forever, now I'm trying to get my fills right. I did not realize it would take so long. I love Dr. Bellanger and staff. I go tommorrow for my last Fill???? lets hope so. Keep in touch.:scared2:

I'm so glad to hear from you!! We southerners need to stay in touch! I was banded Dec. 31, 2009. I've only lost 25 lbs. i'm still trying to get my fill right. I live in McComb, Ms about 90 miles north of New Orleans. 18 miles from the La. line. My Dr. is in Gonzaales, La. (Dr. Drake Bellanger) I really like him, but he is taking too long to get my fills right, or maybe I'm just frustrated.:scared2: i can still eat too much!! I have the Realize Band and it's capacity is 11cc's.. I had my 3rd fill yesterday up to 7.5cc's. I did not feel any restriction untill 6cc. But I think I sti ll need a little more. My Dr. is afraid to give me too much cause he said i may not be able to swallow my own spit!! Yuk, yuk!!! I guess everyone is different. i have a friend that has 5cc's and is doing great. Go figure. :redface:

Hey yal'l!! How many Ms Banders are out there. I'm in McComb. Banded Dec. 29, 2009, and I've only lost 26 lbs, but I will get another fill tomorrow. Yahoo!! I hope this helps. thanks for the motivation!! I was getting quite discouraged. I have an appt Apr. 28 for my 3rd fill. I hope this is it!! I'll let you know. Thanks again for the encouragement.

I am getting very frustrated!! hope this next fill does the trick. I had so much hope for this to help me to get control. Let me know how you are doing.

Hey, I'm a slow loser too. I was banded on 12-30-09. I lost 15 lbs the first 2 weeks while I was on liquids, but only lost 3 lbs in the next 4 weeks waiting for my first fill. I returned 3 weeks later for my second fill and had only lost 3 more lbs. I can eat anything I want and fairly large amts. I hope my next fill makes a greater difference.!! My Dr. seems to be ok with my loses but I'm not.
