Hey gratz on your Surgery! I was banded on the 7th. Everyday gets better, and better!
-
Hey there gratz! I was banded Tuesday. Let me tell you the first week is a bunch of fun (not) lol Everyday does get better - If it wasn't for the gas, and swelling all would be good. It's also been hard for me to not get my mind around the I won't get dehydrated with such little food. Good luck!!! Ps: "What did I do" will enter your mind a whole bunch. Just know it was for the better.

I feel like I am gonna explode. 2 Gas x latter, and little relief. Walking etc... How long does the gas/bloat last on avg?

2 days post op. Had a 8 oz glass of fat free milk, and Protein powder. After I had the first 2-3 sips I got real warm feeling, and very lightheaded. Is this due to having the sugar in the milk? or possible acid kicking back up my esophagus? I have no diabetic issues etc... Have have been on a strict water/broth diet. Any help would be great:redface:

Well I was finally banded yesterday. It was good, but I am sore and pretty swollen. (Alll grama and or spelling is due to liquid pain meds =) 1) how long after surgery (days) did you start feeling better? I feel uninterested in drinking even thou I know I have to. Also, I had that feeling of "what in the hell did I do." I really didn't think that would happen. Must be the pain talking. You can prepare as mush as you like for this change, but trust me I am lost as all get out just thinking about how my life is now changes. Also, I keep stressing about dehydration. I know I need to keep sipping. Thanks, Marc

Sept 7th!!! Woooo hoooo -
Rescheduled my band date to 10/7 :(
msmith73 replied to jigglebutt1's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine was rescheduled twice. Sept 7th is my date. Don't be down. With or without the band your diet, and health is 100% important. The band is just a tool for this whole journey. Good luck! -
Hi folks! I have been a lurker for some time taking in bits, and pieces of information here and there. In January of 2010 I went to my doctors for another issue besides my weight. I remember that day fondly because I couldn't find any clothes that actually fit without squeezing into them with my rear hanging out. I remember feeling, so uncomfortable, and worst of all guilty that I was going to face the one guy in my life that was not going to be pleased with my weight. When I got on the scale my jaw, and heart both hit the floor equally as hard. 319. hummm 36 years old, and 319 pounds. I remember sitting on the table, and thinking about my four year old daughter and wife. How I have tried everything from: Diets to the Gym only to end up the "Fat & Cardiovascularly fit guy" on the treadmill. When I'd stop either a diet or the gym i'd gain it all back PLUS - PLUS - PLUS. When my doctor walked in I broke down, and started to tear up. He knew what I was thinking without saying a word. I looked at him point blank, and said to him "If I am over weight at 40 I am afraid I may take my own life. I can't live this way any longer." We both decided to see the proper folks on surgical weight loss. Since then I have lost about 30 lbs:smile2: thru diet, and exercise. I have almost completed all my pre-op requirements. Tomorrow I have my: x-ray, ekg, and upper Gi. My motto has been, "I am going to be a success story or I am going to die trying." I decided that the lap band was right for me based on the following: I don't eat sweets, and other goodies. I am for the lack of better term LARGE portion carbo-holic. I thank you for taking the time to read my introduction it is my turn to fill the rest of this journey with many positive, and hard worked memories.

Well hit some hurdles in my journey. I was delayed due to GERD. I had a scope done, and they saw a small patch of "Barrett's". I have been rescheduled for SEPT 7th. Good news I lost 54 Lbs without the band so far - Might as well just keep moving along!
-
I am happy that this journey to the middle is about to happen. I should get my surgery date next week.
-
July 20th  I consider the band the middle point in my whole trip. Wow, how everything feels so real now after the last 4-5 months of doing what needed to be done.:smile2: I'll keep ya posted!

HELP: how to make Nectar protein tasty?
msmith73 replied to Zannie's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
The only one so far I found over powering in this Protein was the Cherry. Was very, very over powering. I just ordered the Pina colda flavor (tropical). I 100% stand behind this protein. -
The new changes in the bands that are out now compared to 5 years ago is a factor. At some point people have to take some responsibility for their actions, and not blame the band after they have found ways to "Eat around them."
-
In this case I'd say - yes :cursing: 10 k cash prize is not worth something blowing up on you later. I think you'd have to be up front, and say you had the band done. Then let the powers to be running the challenge give you a decion.
-
I don't think your lying at all. It has taken you 3 years, and alot of hard work. I say congrats, and keep it going :cursing:
-
I think I may be lucky. There is about 3 - 4 other guys in my classes. The only issue is Bypass talk out weighs the Lap band talk =(
-
Syntrax nectar Whey. Is simply the best tasting Protein hands down. Lots of flavors, and you can get it in all sizes. Rated #1 by just about everyone. good luck!
-
Amazing! I like how you set a smaller goal for yourself. I think sometimes we put to much on our shoulders at any one time. I am so happy for you!
-
I was a 12 pack to a case of diet Pepsi or coke zero a week guy. I tried a soda like 2 weeks ago, and it tasted like medicine to me. I have been soda free for about 3 months now:thumbup: Water baby!
-
One major hurdle down. Gratz! Ps: Are we the only men in most of our groups ???
-
what are you most looking forward to after your banded?
msmith73 replied to BeautyandtheBand's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
