Exercise - 35 min on treadmill (244 calories, 1.77 miles, 3.2 mph, 3.0 incline) - evening exercise. Eating - Pretty much still doing the Master Cleanse, I did have about 7 bites of a salad (dressing on the side) and I was full. I'm drinking my cleanse mix up as I type. I'm probably going to go off of the cleanse next week, I have a wedding to attend on Saturday, so I'm hoping to look extra sexy. I'll also see an ex boyfriend at the wedding (its his nephew that is getting married), and this ex dumped me, so I wanna look as good as possible!

Hello everyone! I am not going to make my goal of 5x's this week, however, I will make it 4. I did not make it to the gym on Friday, I was having some port pain from my exercises on Thursday, I might have over did it a bit. Anyhow, I took Friday off. I feel so good these days, I just can't believe it. I'm so ready to be in the best shape of my life! -
I was medication, you name it, I tried it. Since being banded 7 weeks ago, I have had zero reflux! Of course, they did repair my hiatal hernia, so that was a major contributer to my reflux. But so far, so good (knock on wood)

Above, is the round dates to enter the challenge. So I guess I would have to start no later than April 2nd. I would like to wait until June, but then that would mean I would be on a cruise right in the middle of it. The 8th week is when the changes really start happening, and I always quit before the 8th week. I'm going to start pumping myself up that on April 2nd I am going to start the challenge. In the meantime, I will continue to do my cardio 5x's a week and eat healthy. -

Body for Life is a 12 week program. You eat 5 or 6 meals a day (small) which consist of a portion of Protein (lean) and veggies/carbs (good carbs). When I start the progam, I will have to modify it some. Instead of eating 5 or 6 Body for life meals, it will be much smaller, like 1 oz of meat and leave out the carbs. Anyhow, you exercise 6 days a week, 3 of those days consist of weight training, and 3 days consist of cardio (I'll probably tweak this area too and do 6 days of cardio and 3 days of weight training). Anyhow with Body for Life, you get 1 free day to eat whatever you want and no exercise. I don't know if I would just cheat, but I would like a day of no exercise. I bought the book, called "Body for Life" by Bill Phillips. When you build your muscle, you also help boost your matabolism, therefore, you lose more weight even when just sitting. My friend only lost 20 lbs, but gained some muscle and really toned down. She is so hooked on the program now. Grant it, she was only 145 lbs to begin with, but only 5', she is now about 116 lbs and looks amazing. Its all she talks about! I have tried the program several times, but never made it thru the 12 weeks. Oh, one other thing is with the cardio, you exercise first thing in the morning, on an empty stomach and don't eat for an hour afterward, this helps burn the stored fat. I'm thinking about doing starting it in April. I want to really stick to the program, especially the exercise part, hopefully by August 5th (my cruise) I will be suitable for a bathing suit! The Body for Life program requires serious commitment, but it does work. I know when I did it before, by the 4th week, people were asking me, "are you working out", i'm not sure why I stopped, I think I got sick or something. And everyone knows, once you get off track, its hard to get back on. I am feeling really good right now with my fill. I started mushies today, and I had some refried Beans, they were going down a little slow and I could feel the restriction. I'm also doing a "Master Cleanse" with my husband, so I'm not eating much, if anything. Just drinking this lemonaide stuff. I'm supposed to do it for 10 days, but not sure how long I can hang with it. Its not the greatest tasting stuff, but I feel so energetic when I do this cleanse. Anyhow, I hope all my January Exercise buddies are working their booty off! I hope to see some great progress by the time Easter gets here! -

That would be cool. I live in Tulsa, which is about 1 1/2 hours from OKC. Will you be in OKC on weekends? Let me know where your staying and when you will be here, maybe I can take off and drive up there and meet you for dinner or something. I would love to meet up with you! -
I FINALLY started this program! I'm ready to get the Maximum results - Telly, I'm hoping to look like you in 6 to 8 months!
-
The key is - does it cause you discomfort. I started on the treadmill at 1 week post op and then had horrible port pain. Everyone is different, so you have to see what your body can handle. I am finally able to do the Elliptical machine at 4 weeks post op. I wasn't able to do the treadmill until 2 weeks post op. I could walk, but I couldn't do the treadmill, it was too bouncy for me and cause my port side to really hurt. Listen to your body, it will tell you if its causing some problems. Like I said, everyone is different. Good-Luck!

I DID IT - I DID IT - I DID IT - I got my rear out of bed at 4:45 and exercised this morning! I'm so happy that I did it! I'm also down 2 more pounds so I need to change my stats from 206.8 to 204.8 - I'm getting close to ONEDERLAND! -
How about taking measurements? You can see see your progress, without getting on the scales. Sometimes the scales show no loss, but the inches are melting off......

Well, I would think you need a fill....but mostly stay away from the whoppers! Most people can't eat bread, but not sure if that is a good thing or bad thing. I think you need to make better food choices first, then see how you feel, if you find you can eat more than 1 cup of food, time for a fill. Good-luck.

Hey Lynn, I was just thinking about you the other day, I was wondering how you have been and I was going to PM you. Yes, I agree, too tight would not be the way to go. I just got my first fill yesterday and so far feeling great. I felt some restriction, but today when I was drinking, I didn't feel it. I'm on liquids for 3 days and then mushies, then regular foods. So I really won't know if the fill is the right amount until I start on solids. Also, I've read where some don't really feel the restriction until after the 2nd week, so I'm going to give this fill 4 weeks and see how it goes. My next doctor appointment is April 5th and we'll see how it is by then. Thanks for sharring your story, its a great lesson for those of us (like me) that want to feel major restriction immediately.

Good Morning January Bandsters! Have any of you heard about Body For Life? Well, My friend did it, and she ended up winning - $40,000 to be exact. Here is a link to her pictures - http://www.bodyforlife-tracker.com/showphotos.cfm?id=15910 - you need to scroll down to see her after pictures. Anyhow, I'm thinking about doing it once I can start my strength training, anyone wanna join me? I want to start around the first of April or the middle of April. Its a 12 week challenge. If anyone is interested, let me know and we can start the challenge together. I didn't exercise Monday or Tuesday - had so much going on, however, I'm back to my exercising today. I will have to exercise EVERYDAY to make my 5 times this week, but I can do it. I am actually going to exercise twice a day or more. I went to the gym on break at work (we have a full gym for our employees) and did 20 min on treadmill at 3.2 mph, burned 160 calories. I will go again at 3:00 and do it again, I will also go tonight after work to my gym by my house. So I should burn around 400 extra calories or more today. My goal is work up to buring 500 calories a day. My ultimate goal is to get my butt out of bed at 5 am and head to the gym, but I still am struggling to do this. My alarm goes off every morning at 5, and I just turn it off. I'm going to try and set up in another room, then maybe I will wake up enough to go the gym. So how is everyone? -
Are you doing body for life? My friend won! She won $40,000 doing it, she looks AMAZING. Her name is Jennifer Weatherman -here is a link to her pictures - http://www.bodyforlife-tracker.com/showphotos.cfm?id=15910 - just scroll down to see her after pictures. I'm so proud of her!

My menu is pretty boring, so I'm really not going to post it. Its basically a "Master Cleanse/Lemonaide Diet". My DH is doing it to clean out his arteries, etc, so I'm supporting him and doing it with him. Your supposed to do the cleanse for 10 days, or up to 40 and beyond. There is NO WAY that I can do it beyond 10 days, and not sure if I can hang for 10 days, but giving it a try. The cleanse consist of: 10 oz of water - purrified only or spring 1/2 fresh organic lemon (or regular lemon - which is what I'm using) 2 TBSP of Maple syrup - GRADE B only. You have to get this at health store and 1/10 of tsp of ceyenne pepper - or to taste You drink this 6 or more times a day, and in between you have fresh spring/purified water. You eat NOTHING, and if the cleanse is not "moving", you can have this concoction with some organic laxative tea - twice a day. AFter 10 days of this, you begin with a little orange juice - this prepares the body for digestive with food. Then on day 12, you begin adding some fresh fruit/veggies - and day 13, gradually add your lean meats and grilled veggies or fresh. I'm on day 3 of my cleanse. I had my fill yesterday and required to be on liquids anyhow, so I'm doing the cleanse. Exercise was NOTTA Monday & Tuesday, but I will exercise everyday the rest of the week! Exercise today - 20 min treadmill, 3.2 mph, 1.05 miles, 160 calories -

Hello everyone, I got my first fill today, he put in 2.2 cc's in my 4 cc band. I can totally feel restriction. I managed to get 5 x's of exercise in last week, and working on getting 5 in this week, but off to a slow start, was so drained yesterday, didn't make it to the gym, but I WILL tonight! -
Okay, I admit it, I was nervous, scared and anxious to get my first fill. I can't believe how wonderful the nurse was. My doctor has my fills done by the radiology dept at the hospital right next to his office. I got my fill from a Dr. Dennison. He was so nice. Anyhow, he found my port very fast, but did have some problems sticking me, the port kept moving. He first cleaned me with some alchohal, then stuck me with some novocaine (sp), and numbed me up. He finally started my fill, very painless after the first stick to numb me. Which it was only a tiny sting. Anyhow, he filled me up to 2.0 cc's, and then the worst part of it all, the drinking of the barium - chalky stuff, NASTY. The 2.0 fill showed MAJOR restriction, my esophogas started having spasms, then he had me relax, take another swallow, and still was going thru the band really slow. He then took .2 cc's out, which brought me down to 1.8 cc's, and there was no restriction, he put back to 2.0 cc's and it was going thru really fast, He then raised it up to 2.2 cc's and I felt restriction. He had me swallow again, and I could see and feel the fluid sitting there. Then it would slowly go thru. I hope I'm not too tight, but he said it loosens up a bit, and my Esophogas was having spasms, more than usual he thought, but didn't seem worried about it. He did say if I'm too tight and find it uncomfortable, to call him and he will take some of the fluid out. I am to be on liquids for FIVE days, then soft foods for 2 or 3 days, then back to regular foods. I hope the weight loss will start back up again, I sure hope it does.
