  1. Thanks for the advice Marys - I have to say, that in the past, when I missed a workout, I seemed to "give up". So I'm going to have to stay focussed in order to get this challenge complete - I bet you were ripped, doing it 7 times in a row - WOW.
  2. Yay - I'm so glad I have some people doing it with me. Maybe we can push and motivate each other so we all make it to the finish line. I started gathering my exercise stuff over the weekend, put it all in my workout bag. I got up this morning at 5 am - I'll be doing my workouts in the am so I'll get them done. So, lets jump in here every Monday and tell how our weeks worth of exercise went. I am going to take my "before" picture this weekend so I'll have it. I haven't decided if I am brave enough to take it in a bikini or not, but am thinking about it. I think with a bikini I can see the weight loss in my stomach at the end of the 12 weeks. After all, it will just be for my viewing for now, but I might take it in shorts & tshirt, just haven't decided yet. So, everyone, take your before pick and at the end of 12 weeks, we can see our progress.

    motivation

Okay - here is what someone told me "Fake it until you Make it", so I did. I went to the gym, walked on the treadmill, sometimes just 15 min. Every week I increased by 5 min. I went from 3 x's a week, to 5 or 6 times a week now. I also miss it when I don't exercise. I forced myself to the gym and finally now, I wake up and can't wait to get to the gym. I try and think about how good I feel when I go on the morning when I try and talk myself out of it, and I remember how bad I feel when I don't go, this usually motivates me to go. Its not easy, but it is rewarding! Right now I've been doing cardio, but next week I'm kicking in strenghth training, my doc won't let you do weights until 3 mos out. So I'm clear to begin -

    January Bandsters???

That truly is a NSV! Maybe that is what is happening to me. I'm only down 4 lbs since last month, but I'm getting more and more compliments, and my jeans are really big. Good bye 16's and hello 14's! I've already given up my 18's, got rid of all of them, I've been holding on to my 16's, but I about to get rid of them too. I have been wearing some of my 14's but don't have many, so I'll be shopping a little before I get rid of all my 16's.

    So Discouraged - Please Help

I noticed a big change at about 4 weeks, and now I'm 3 mos post op, and have only lost 4 lbs this last month, however, everyone is telling my how skinny i've gotten this month? Go figure? I will take my measurements on Wednesday and we'll see how many inches I've lost. My clothes feel looser. I get another fill tomorrow, so hopefull from month 3 to 4, I will have more of a weight loss. I can't complain too much, I have lost a lot of weight in the beginning.

    January Bandsters???

I think being hydrated is so true. The only problem I have is my doctor doesn't want me to eat or drink after midnight the night before a fill. I get my 2nd one tomorrow and I am trying to drink as much liquids today as possible, so I can't follow the instructions about drinking an hour before a fill since I'm not allowed. I'm also on my menstrual cycle, so I'm doing the No-No and having a fill. I was tighter this weekend, but it has loosened up now and I'm about over the TOM, so I think it will be okay. I do believe that it sometimes takes 2 weeks before the fill settles in.

    January Bandsters???

I think if the doctor is pretty familiar with your port area, he will do fine. I know many do it without flouro and have no problems. My doctor sends me to the hospital and one of the radiology doctors does my fills under flouro. But I know many doctors do it theirself without the flouro machine. Good-luck!

Menu today - Doing Master Cleanse before I start the BFL diet/exercise challenge next week. Exercise - 5 am - 34 min on treadmill, 3% incline, 3.3 mph, 238 calories, 1.76 distance. Notes - i have my 2nd fill tomorrow, a little nervous about it. I have no problems right now, no PBing, no sliming, I can eat pretty much anything and everything, but don't eat more than 1 cup of food. Wt this morning read 196.6:phanvan TOM is here, so I'm sure that is why. Not really too worried about it. Wednesday is my 3 mos banding anniversary, I will take my measurements, take a progression photo. I will also take a photo for my "before" pic for the 12 week BFL challenge that I am going to begin on Monday 4/23/07.

    January Bandsters???

Maybe I should clarify my statement, I can't eat or drink after midnight the night before my fill. I go for my 2nd fill 4/17 - Next Tuesday, and I can't wait!

They have told me nothing to eat or drink after midnight, period. So, I'm in the same boat as you.

Tracy and Brandi - you both are going to make it, you have proven you are strong women and your doing great. It may not be easy at times, but you WILL get thru this. Your both doing so good and are an inspriration to many women out there. And remember, its their loss, they lost something valuable!

Thanks Sissy - I have a long way to go, but I'm so happy with my progress and happy that I no longer feel so depressed and lost like I did before my surgery.

    Last straw stories

Let me give you an example of what happened to me - I went from this (June of 2006 to January 2007) to that. See the difference? I was at my weight that I am now in June, and by November, I went from 195 to 248! Man, talk about a lot of weight gain in a short period. And notice the difference in hair and makeup.

    Insurance for Plastic Surgery

Man, that would be a dream come true. I've read on boards that you have have the rashes documented, so you will need to go to the doctor each time, and they look at 6 months of reacurring problems. Its very difficult, but it can be done. Also it depends on the amount of skin (the size of it). Plastic surgery is a hot thing right now, so the insurance companies are very picky. I'm starting to save now for a tummy tuck, I know I will need one later.
  25. Its definitely changed the way I eat the rest of the day. I find when I exercise in the AM, I'm more prone to stick to healthy eating the rest of the day. Exercise helps me stay focussed and helps the inches melt off, also makes me feel good on the inside knowing I've done something good for myself.
