Last night I had a small pig out, I was worried about the scales jumping way up. I had ham, mashed potatoes, corn, dinner roll and dessert. I was so full I thought I would puke. Even the ham was only 3 oz, and everything I ate was smaller portions, I ate too much. Miserable feeling. I was worred about stepping on the scales, pre band, I would have gained 3 or 5 pounds in one night, no kidding. But I was only up .3 ounces, scale read 168.1. I was so glad not to see the 170's. I am hoping to be at 165 by my 10 month band birthday which is 11/18. My goal is to be at 160 by my 11 month band bday, and 155 at my 1 year - 155 is my doctors goal, 145 to 148 is my goal. I just so happy that I am losing again. Todays menu Bfast - Weight smart oatmeal Lunch - lean ground beef with diced tomatoes, onions. Dinner - 3 oz of ham, salad Supplements - 2 multi flinstones vitamins, 1 quickslim-30 Exercise - 2 session of 10 min on recumbant bike - still working on my knee, it really hurts lately.

I has a pig out last night. It really wasn't a pig out compared to my pre-band life, but I ended up having ham, mashed potatoes & corn, and even a dinner roll. I also enjoyed dessert, Peanut butter choco chip cake. But only a sliver of a piece. I was so full, I was miserable. Don't want to do that again. My ham was only about 3 oz, and potatoes was 1/2 cup, but the dinner roll probably did me in. I was nervous stepping on the scales this morning, expecting to see a pound or 2 gain. I expected to see the scales say 170 something again, BUT IT DIDN'T, still 168.1, just up .3 ounces. I can't complain. My husband is calling me ribsy these days cause my ribs are sticking out. My colar bone is so defined now. I even see bones in my feet. My watch doesn't fit around my rist. I've had to have my wedding ring sized down from an 8 to a 6, shoes that were too tight now fit me. I am scheduled for a fill 11/21, but I probably will end up cancelling it. I feel good restriction, not too tight and not too lose, I think I'm really at my sweet spot.

I was experiencing the same thing, but finally got back to the basics and re-read the rules of Lap-band. I started following the rules again, and now I'm losing again. Hang in there and remember why you had the lap-band in the first place. You can do it!

Weighing less than my husband was a goal of mine too. I finally weigh less then him, actually about 25 lbs less now. He can actually carry me now.
-
Hang in there, it is all worth it in the end. I promise.

Getting the band was the greatest decision I have ever made. I love it.

Congrats, I believe measuring is a great way to keep track of your progess.
-
Your doing great! I lost inches first, then the pounds came off, 3 lbs overnight! Be careful being too tight, you don't want a slip.
-
Congrats! This journey is so fun isn't it. I love my band!

OMG - the top looks amazing on you, you can see your waste! You look damn hot girl! You strut your stuff!

Good-bye, Good-bye forever!

Good-bye 170's, good-bye forever. I loved you once, but after months being with you, it was time to move to a number that is truly better, the 160's. Today, I met the 160's and they have truly made me feel great. Weighed in today at 167.8. Yes, I love the 160's now, 170's treated me good for awhile, but the 160's will treat me better. I am so happy - I haven't weighed in the 160's in like 15 to 17 years. I can't even remember the last time I weighed this. I know it was before my kids were born and they are 17 & 15 now. So, its been a loooong time. I'm enjoying my ride with the lap-band, it truly has been amazing. It has taken me places that I never thought I would be, never thought was possible. I actually am being called "skinny", by kids and DH tell me how skinny i've become. I love it! -

Wt 170.3 Scale is steadily moving down, I'm hoping to get to 169 by Monday. If I can chose the right foods over the weekend, I might be there. Weekends are the hardest time for me, We always go out to eat on Fridays, so seem to eat more than I should, and its not always the right choice. So, I'm going to focus on eating healthy over the weekend to see if I can hit the 169 mark. If I do, I will be so happy! Exercise so far today: 10min recumbant bike, some strength training on my legs (total gym). Will try and do some more time on the bike later this afternoon.

Crystal, best wishes for you as you begin your new lifestyle. Sounds like you got to the hospital just in time. So scary. I am the same as you, I didn't really get some real good restriction from my last fill until 3 weeks after my fill. I thought I had good restriction, but after 3 weeks, the real restriction kicked in. I am not too tight, but I finally feel the band working. Your experience will remind us all, being too tight is not good and can cause some serious complications. Thanks for sharing your story.

Audree - Yay!!!! I'm so happy for you!! Last night we go to dinner, My aunt & uncle, both comment on how much more weight I've lost (truth is, I haven't) Then we go to my SIL house for a get together, my BIL, says Wow, you have really lost more weight (nope), then I walk into the living room, my SIL says, OMG, look how skinny you are. She just saw me 5 days ago and swears I am 10 lbs lighter. So I know I am losing inches, my new jeans I bought 2 weeks ago were tight - juniors size 11/12. I wore them last night, fit just right! and there were areas they were lose. I haven't measured in awhile since I'm not exercising, but I think I will try and mesure to compare where I was the last time I measured. I had about 3 oz of lean steak and 1 cup of salad last night , then my SIL had made a dessert that I ate, and I was miserably full. I weighed this morning and the same weight, so my splurge last night I didn't gain! Yay! I am hoping to be in the 160's still by Monday, so we'll see. I'm so close, but yet so far!

Happy Friday everyone. Everyone keeps telling me how much more weight I have lost, weird thing is, I haven't. I guess I'm losing inches. I know the scale is going to move soon!!! Well, just checking in, busy day at work today, so gotta run. Have a great weekend everyone.

Well, its Thursday, and I am sooooo ready for Friday! Its been a loooong week at work! I'm hoping to drop some weight soon, this stall has gone on way too long. I think If I could get into the 160's I will be satisfied for awhile. Although I loved the 170's, its time to move on to bigger and better - or lighter and better, the 160's!!!!! Eating has been good and clean, except I have drank a little too much of the liquid caloires (starbucks coffee), so working hard on that and limiting myself on that. I did get on the elliptical machine for the first time yesterday, I realized, I'm not quite ready for it. At 5 minutes my knee was throbbing so I had to get off, I am still paying for it today. I will have to stick with the recumbant bike for another week or so and then give it a try again. Hope all have a wonderful day!

Sula, I agree, some of the post are vicious! This is supposed to be a "support" thread, not attacking. I stay out of those heated arguments, I don't go near the Rants & Raves section!

Christy, You might check my journal out, I've tried to list everything in there from start to end. I can eat pretty much anything, I have had problems with bread (doughy kinds) but somedays I can eat it with no problems, some days, I can feel it pass thru the band. The most frustrating thing for me was getting to a propper fill level, it took me a long time and lots of patience. I try and eat low carb, low fat, and low calories. I don't always do it, but I try. I basically try and follow the rules. The first thing I would do is find a doctor in your area that performs Lap Band and call and go to a seminar. Then I would check that doc out and make sure he is the one for you. You might go to 2 or 3 docs to see which one you like the best. The seminar explain a lot. I also bought the book Weight lOss surgery for dummies, and Successful habits of weightloss surgery patients, both are good books and discuss the different types of WLS. Best wishes, Tonya -
I've had 8 fills, and I HATE needles, however, the worst part of a fill is the shot they give you to numb you, its quick, feels like a bee sting and its over. Then they fill you up, I feel nothing at this point. Hopefully your doc will numb you first, most docs do. Best wishes.

Calling all at or near goal - how is your skin?
tonya66 replied to Boysaway's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I'm 41 and I'm about 25 lbs away from goal, My tummy is great, not too bad, but my butt & thigh area need some help. I think I could live with it, however, I want to have surgery after I get to goal. DH thinks I look fine and says he doesn't even notice my saggy buttocks like I do, however, I notice everything. I'm hoping to do a lower body lift.
