Well tomorrow makes my 17 month Band Anniversary. I am still struggling with my weight, however, I need to stay focussed. I don't know what is wrong with me? I seem to fall off the wagon so easy these days. Anyhow, I will continue to try and hopefully soon I will win and will get my mind right! Todays menu Doing a cleanse so drinking some lemonade /maple syrup - its called the master cleanse. Exercise - I did go exercise last night, and plan on doing it again tonight! Wt 178

What do you eat in the evening? Do you drink a full glass of water before going to bed to wash out your pouch? If your not eating at least 2 hours before bed, and not eating a very heavy meal, and washing out your pouch, I hate to say it, but I would take just a few drops of fluid out. Having acid reflux is not good either. You will be surprised at what a few drops can do. Hope it goes away soon.

The past 6 to 8 months I've not like posting my weight on my anniversary, as you can see, it has stayed in the same range. Today makes 17 months since my banding. I am still struggling to get my fill just right. I thought my 10th fill would be the perfect amount, but I still believe I need a tad more. I still can eat anything, bread, steak etc. some days are tighter than others, but I find that it is only about 1 week out of the month that I have perfect restriction - and that is during my monthly. sometimes when I ovulate I am tighter, but again, that is just a few days out of the month. I will be going for fill #11 next week, right before my cruise. I know some might think I'm crazy, but I'm sick of not losing so I don't care if I am tight on the cruise. I don't want to gain on the cruise, I actually would like to lose a few pounds while on the cruise - this will be a first if that happens. The average weight gain for a cruise is 10 pounds and I've always gained weight while on a cruise. Always, at least 5 lbs, last year, I think I only gained around 3 or 4, I can't remember. Well, it hurts, but I have to be honest with myself - so here is my weight history since banding......month by month. I am still determined to finish this race by my 2 year anniversary! I want to lose and hit my goal, I will lose and hit my goal! I will not give up and I will not quit until I reach my goal! Highest weight - 248 1 mo post op - 206.8 2 mo post op - 198 3 mo post op - 193 4 mo post op - 184.2 5 mo post op - 178 6 mo post op – 174 7 mo post op - 178 - went on vacation and ate big (7 day cruise) 8 mo post op - 174 9 mo post op - 170 10 mo post op- 167 11 mo post op - 170 - haven’t even been trying 12 mo post op - 174 - again, not trying. But finally refocused - exactly where I was at 6 mos post op – so basically no weight loss in the past 6 mos 13 mo post op - 183 - Ouch! started taking steroids and made my weight go up, along with not eating right and no exercise! 14 mo post op - 185 - grrrrr 15 mo post op - 180 - weight is finally going down, but inches are actually coming off faster since I've been exercising a lot. 16 mo post op - 178 17 mo post op - 175

Louisianagirl - your doing great with your weightloss! Well, I have 12 days before my cruise and I'm getting so excited. I wish the weight was all gone, but I'm pretty happy anyhow! Hope everyone else is doing good.

Eating has sucked, exercise has sucked - but still trying to get back on track! I was wide open last week, I mean wide open! Ate anything and everything and hungry all the time. I seem to be tighter today, and TOM just came for his monthly visit. I seem to be always extremely loose right before TOM and tighten back up during TOM. I'm bloated and holding so much water, it hurts to walk, my feet tingle I'm so bloated. GRRRRRR. Today's menu: Bfast - weight wise oatmeal Lunch two chicken tenders - grilled Dinner - not sure yet? Exercise - I haven't in the last week and a half, maybe I will finally get back to the gym tonight!

Okay, as we gear up for our 1 year Band Anniversary, and focus on hitting our goals (some of us are at goal, and some are still trying to get there), it time to make exercise a part of life. Challenge begins January 7th, 2008 (Monday). I would recommend taking a before picture, just so you can compare it. You can weigh in and post your weight here, or keep track of it yourself, that is your option. Also, take your measurements, a lot of time with exercise, you will lose inches first. I would recommend measuring every 2 weeks or every 4 weeks so you can compare your results. What to measure: Chest area - I measure around my breast area -just be consistant on where you measure Waist - I measure around my belly button area Hips - I measure the largest part of my hips Thighs - measure your right or left, just be consistant calves - again, the left or right and be consistant on where you measure and which side you measure. Okay - there you go. If you want to join, just chime in and say your in the challenge. We can update every day, or once a week, or whatever. Remember, this is a challange to ourselves. We have to keep our promises we make to ourselves and our commitment. You deserve it! The challenge will run for 12 weeks - Begins 1/7/08 to 3/30/08. If you exercise at least 4 to 5 days a week, I promise you, when 3/30/08 comes around, you will not stop. It will become a part of your life and you will learn to LOVE IT. Best wishes to all, now put down that piece of pumpkin pie, or whatever leftovers you may have after xmas, and get to the gym, or something. :rose:

Congratulations! I am right behind you (by about 6 months) and I will be celebrating my 2 year as well. I'm hoping to be at goal by then - but at the rate I'm going, I don't know???? Congratulations again on your success!

Well, I took a break from my journal it looks like. But It's time to refocuss on it. I had a mini vacation at the lake, ate too much and didn't get much exercise. I've slacked in exercise for the past few weeks, its time to get back in gear! What am I thinking? My cruise is in 24 more days!!!!!! I am still fat as ever! Wt - 177.9 - I've gone up a few pounds Menu today - Bfast bowl of fresh fruit Lunch artichoke nectarine grapes (weird lunch I know - but I've had the weirdest craving lately) Dinner - Tuna Exercise - 45 min on elliptical

Hi Renee - I am not sure I buy the theory of a set point. I do believe that we lose and if there is excess skin, we could have 10 or 15 lbs of excess skin and be smaller underneath that. I think the closer you get to goal, the harder it is to lose, but not sure if I buy a "set point".

Jen - so sorry to hear about your problems. Best wishes to you on Friday. I am just swinging by to say hello. I've been super busy. My foot is better and I'm back to exercising again. Eating was off this weekend, had a picnic and ate all the bad stuff. But I jumped right back on track yesterday. :thumbup:

PB stands for Productive Burp - its when your food get stuck, you have to spit it back up.

Hey Shawn! Glad to see you online! Well, I hate to admit it, but I am falling apart in my old age! I've been exercising really really hard, and I managed to get myself hurt once again. grrrrrrr. I went to the doctor yesterday because I can barely walk without looking like the hunchback - I found out I tore my Quadratus Lumborum muscle (otherwise known as the QL muscle). When he said this to me I said "What the hell is the Quadratus Muscle?". Well evidently doing my crunches on the ab machine is what did it. So now, I have to take it easy - ice it down and pray like hell I don't gain weight. He did give me some stretches to do in the future BEFORE I exercise to prevent injury. He said the older you get the more important it is to warm up with some stretches before you exercise. I'm just bummed about the whole deal..... Well, thats my weekend story - hope everyone else is doing good, and hope everyone else checks in soon, we are getting lonely:unsure:
