    My activities for Wednesday 7/23/08 I started another BFL challenge on Monday, it is 84 days and I'm hoping it will get me back in the grove of exercising. Today was the lower body workout, I went to the gym and gave it my all. My knee just wouldn't let me do some of the stuff, and when I felt pain, I had to stop because I didn't want to damage it further. I was afraid pushing myself/my knee/ would cause a set back, so I held off on some of the stuff I wanted to do Quads - leg presses Hamstrings - lying leg extentions, straight leg dead lifts Calfs - calf raises Abs - ab crunches with 10 lb weights, and inclined sit ups Menu bfast - cottage cheese mixed with yogurt snack - 3 strawberries lunch - whole wheat tortia, 3 oz chicken breast and hot pace picante sauce snack - necterine dinner - 3/4 cup of pinto beans wt - didn't weigh, trying not to focus on the scales for the next couple of weeks and really focus on feeling better and exercise.

    Anyone here?

    Hello everyone, just swinging by to update and see what is going on. I started another body for life challenge yesterday, I just have to do something. I figured out that I haven't lost any weight in 1 whole year! Yep, 1 year since I've lost weight. I've been yo yoing the same 10 lbs for a freaken year! Well, its actually been 10 months, but you might as well say a year! Maria - wow, I can't believe your 32 weeks already, I know you are ready to have the baby - I remember the unconfortable stage, it wasn't fun. Shawn, you sound very busy. I know my mother has horses and they do take a lot of time, but she wouldn't trade it for the world. Her horses are her babies! Well, I will check in later. My life is so busy at work.
  3. Tracy - Wonderful about your mother! I know you have been so stressed and worried, so I'm so happy that she is cancer free! You guys are all doing awesome on your weightloss too!

    Exercise frequency

    Clockeeper - You know, I give up on listening to all the different advice, some say circuit train, some say do the HIIT and your burn my calories, then I read studies say you dont blah blah blah. They key is find some type of exercise you like, if its running, do it. Your more likely to stick to it if you like it. I think you will have better long term success doing something you enjoy. Some people love to run, some like to walk, others love to bike. Me, I can't run now that i have had knee surgery. I tried to cycling classes, hurts my butt and just can't do it, but I love the elliptical, so that is what I'm sticking with. Any type of exercise is good, as long as your consistant with it, I believe that is the key. Now to answer your question, from what I have read, running is the fastest way to lose weight, Brisk walking is better for your heart. For me, I can't do either, so I chose the elliptical, its a combination of both and it doesn't hurt my knees. Best wishes to you

    Well, I finally made it back to the gym last night. I did about 35 minutes on the elliptical machine and burned over 300 calories.     Hi Jodie, I bought my Designer whey at Walmart - How are you doing since surgery? The first 2 weeks are the toughest, liquids only -yuck. After that, when you get mushies, I felt like I at least had a little bit of food and did fine with the mushy stage, I lived off Taco Bueno refried Beans. A small container (.99 cents) would last me two meals.

    I'm back - again.

    Back from my cruise and back to the Lap band eating. My eating was HORRIBLE during the cruise, and my exercise has been ZERO. I'm refocussing and getting another fill August 6th. Until then, I'm eating lean meats, fruits and vegies and getting back into the exercise mode. will post more later, extremely busy at work today since its my first day back.

    Hello everyone, wow, the thread is so dead these days. I guess everyone is enjoying life to the fullest. I just got back from my cruise - wonderful time. No breaks or falls this time. lol. I know I gained, and I'm getting myself back on track - today! Exercise these days is nothing, but still struggling to get back and I am starting a new BFL program with my daughter so hopefully that will jump start my weightloss again. will check in later, so busy today at work being the first day back!
  18. I went for fill #11 yesterday. I thought I would walk away very tight, not. You see, about 4 or 5 days out of the month, I have the perfect restriction. I finally figured out that this perfect restriction is when I'm ovulating and on my monthly. The rest of the month, I'm open. So anyhow, yesterday, I woke up, TIGHT. Not too tight, but tight enough that I had to sip on my coffee. So I went to get my fill and I told my doc that I would be leaving on my cruise on Friday. Well, since I was leaving on Friday, and since I had good restriction, he would not fill me! He said he felt that if he filled me I might get too tight and I would be in the middle of the ocean with no doc around to unfill me and I might be sick my entire cruise. He thought I would enjoy the cruise more just the fill level that I was. So I left the office being restricted, but no fill. By yesterday afternoon I was wide open again. grrrrr. I am so frustrated. He did tell me as soon as I get back from the cruise he will get me in and I don't have to have an appointment and he will get me a fill. He aslo gave me some appetite supresants for the cruise so I don't gain a bunch of weight. So, fill #11 was a no go for me. shucks! I'm to the point now that it is just going to take a few drops to get me to a good restriction level, and I'm sure during my ovulation time and monthly I will be extremely tight once I get my fill and I might even have to be on liquids during that time. Well, I'm off to the Eastern Carribean tomorrow, Its about a 22 hour drive to Florida - there are 20 of my family members going. We're going to have a great time I'm sure. Here is my itinerary: Sunday, June 29, 2008 Miami, Florida-- Monday, June 30, 2008 Nassau, Bahamas Tuesday, July 1, 2008 Fun Day At Sea- Wednesday, July 2, 2008 St. Thomas, U.s. Thursday, July 3, 2008 St. Maarten Friday, July 4, 2008 Fun Day At Sea-- Saturday, July 5, 2008Fun Day At Sea-- Sunday, July 6, 2008 Miami, Florida I'm so ready to get away from here, I am going to try and focus on relaxation and having a great time and not worry too much about my weight!

Well, I won't reach my goal, tear drop tear drop tear drop :Angel_anim: I wish I would have done better, I leave tomorrow for my cruise, so when I get back, I will be ready to join another challenge? What challenge will it be? Maybe until Labor Day? Whatever it is, I'm ready for a challenge and I will make it this time, I will get another fill after my cruise so I will have better restriction.     He gave me "i think they are called" Adapex? 37.5 mg. I haven't went to the pharmacy to get the perscription filled yet. Thanks for the tip of staying off the slippery dance floor. I'll make sure I do that this time. lol

    Ladies - if you have some to spare - I'll take it. My girls are fading away as I lose weight. I'm almost a B cup now! Well, I leave tomorrow for my cruise. I haven't lost the weight that I need to, and I went to get a fill yesterday, just a small fill. Well, I was ovulating and was really tight, I am real tight about 4 days out of the month I notice. When I ovulate and on my monthly I get the perfect restriction where I have to actually slow down to eat! The doctor said he was worried that he would fill me up and I would be too tight and be in the middle of the ocean. He said he thought I would enjoy my cruise more the way I am and if he filled me, I might be sick the entire cruise. grrrrr. So, I left his office feeling tight and no fill, but by yesterday afternoon I was wide open again. It never fails! He did tell me however, as soon as I get back from the cruise, he will fill me. I was just hoping not to make a complete pig out of myself on the cruise and not gain weight! Oh well, I have decided when I get back, it is time to get serious again with losing weight if I am going to make my goal by my 2 year anniversary time! Talk to everyone in about 10 days!

    I Pam, I also had my surgery with Gorospe, in January of 2007. I like the Designer Whey Protein - they have lots of flavor and I mix mine with skim milk in my magic bullet. Yum.

    The past 6 to 8 months I've not like posting my weight on my anniversary, as you can see, it has stayed in the same range. Today makes 17 months since my banding. I am still struggling to get my fill just right. I thought my 10th fill would be the perfect amount, but I still believe I need a tad more. I still can eat anything, bread, steak etc. some days are tighter than others, but I find that it is only about 1 week out of the month that I have perfect restriction - and that is during my monthly. sometimes when I ovulate I am tighter, but again, that is just a few days out of the month. I will be going for fill #11 next week, right before my cruise. I know some might think I'm crazy, but I'm sick of not losing so I don't care if I am tight on the cruise. I don't want to gain on the cruise, I actually would like to lose a few pounds while on the cruise - this will be a first if that happens. The average weight gain for a cruise is 10 pounds and I've always gained weight while on a cruise. Always, at least 5 lbs, last year, I think I only gained around 3 or 4, I can't remember. Well, it hurts, but I have to be honest with myself - so here is my weight history since banding......month by month. I am still determined to finish this race by my 2 year anniversary! I want to lose and hit my goal, I will lose and hit my goal! I will not give up and I will not quit until I reach my goal! Highest weight - 248 1 mo post op - 206.8 2 mo post op - 198 3 mo post op - 193 4 mo post op - 184.2 5 mo post op - 178 6 mo post op – 174 7 mo post op - 178 - went on vacation and ate big (7 day cruise) 8 mo post op - 174 9 mo post op - 170 10 mo post op- 167 11 mo post op - 170 - haven’t even been trying 12 mo post op - 174 - again, not trying. But finally refocused - exactly where I was at 6 mos post op – so basically no weight loss in the past 6 mos 13 mo post op - 183 - Ouch! started taking steroids and made my weight go up, along with not eating right and no exercise! 14 mo post op - 185 - grrrrr 15 mo post op - 180 - weight is finally going down, but inches are actually coming off faster since I've been exercising a lot. 16 mo post op - 178 17 mo post op - 175

    Shawn - I am in the same boat as you. I've struggled so hard the past 7 months, I lose 5 lbs, I gain 10, I lose 10 lbs, I gain 5. I'm still right where I was almost a year ago! It all began with my overfill in November, thats when all my strubbles started. I know I'm partly to blame and I'm working hard to get my mind right and get back into the grove of weighloss again..... Hang in there Shawn, we're all in this together.
