Scales are movimg down again! Yay! I have eaten clean all week, now if I could just make it to the gym, I would be a lot better! We're going out to eat tonight, and I've already decided what I'm going to eat, so I can be good and eat clean. Its hard too when your going to go eat Mexican. I have decided I will eat 5 chips and salsa, and order the chicken fahitas - which I will split with my hubby or daughter. And I'll get double beans. No flour tortias. wt - 169.1

Thanks Shawn - my dad is doing great. He might get to go home this weekend. He said he feels like a new man. I've done soooo good at eating this week. I am actually proud of myself. Clean eating all the way even thru my stress. Now, if I could just get my rear to the gym! Have a good weekend everyone!

Life has been fast paced, haven't had much time to post. I'm focussing on eating more, but eating the right stuff. I think I haven't been eating enough calories. I'm also focussing on eating LOW CARB, Low fat, and lower calories. I either don't eat enought on days, or I eat all the bad stuff. I'm focussing on CLEAN eating. Wt - 170.1

Last of 2008 Weight Loss Challenge

Wow, everyone is doing good. I am still holding steady, but I am hoping to break my plateau soon! I'm trying to switch up my diet and really focus on nothing but clean eating. -
I really don't eat that differently, just healthier and not as much. I will tell you, people will begin to suspect you have had surgery, just by your weightloss. The fact is, very few people are able to diet and keep the wieght off long term. So when someone loses a lot of weight, no matter how slow it is, people start to suspect it, and thats what has happened to me. I was prepared to answer the question "how are you losing weight", however, I was never prepared to answer the questions "did you get the lap band?". I have been asked that several times, and I asked why did you? and walk away. I have decided the next time someone ask me that, I'm going to ask How much do you make a year? I am going to put them on the spot and just show them how rude their question is! If I wanted you to know, I would tell you. I think its rude for someone to ask about your medical history and anything too about your medical proceedures. Again there is a law called HIPAA for a reason. Everyone and I mean everyone has a right to keep their medical history private. Its our right. Its also your right to tell if you chose.

I always just order water and drink until my meal comes, then quit. No one has ever noticed yet that I am not drinking with my meal. Of course, some docs want you not to drink 30 min before meal, however, my doc said I can drink right up until I start eating. Then don't drink for 1 hour afterwards.

Congratulations! Good job!

Well, my life has been so stressed out lately, however, I HAVE NOT TURNED TO food. I'm done good with my eating and trying to make sure I make good choices. I'm focussing right now on Low carb, low calorie and measuring my food. My dad had been sick for awhile, turns out he had 99% blockage in his main artery, (the one they call the widow maker) and an aneursym. The aneursym was about to burst, and if it did, you have a 3% chance of survival. Well they couldn't fix the anerusym because his he would die of a heart attack on the operating table the doc said. They couldn't do a bypass because he would need blood thinners and the blood thinners would make the aneurysm bleed out (it was already leaking at this point). We were racing against time on Tuesday. So what they did was do a balloon to clear out as much of his blockage as possible, and the surgery was successful, they needed to do bypass or at least a stint, but can't do it until the aneurysm is fixed, but they said they would temp fix his heart. Well, then come Wednesday (yesterday) they did his aneurysm surgery. They said he only had 30% chance of survival, and when they got in there to fix it, they realized he was bleeding in there, as well as it was about to burst. They did the surgery not a second too soon. The doc said he was so lucky and most people would have been dead. First, with that must blockage (99%), he should have had a massive heart attack and second, with the aneurysm leaking, it should have burst. He said someone was watching over him. Every doc and nurse that has come to see him has told him he is lucky to be alive. So, as you can see, I've been so worried about my dad, then I go get my yearly exam, and I find out my uterus is basically about to fall out of me. Its pushing on my bladder and it could push it down. I'm having an ultra sound next week (Monday the 24th) and that will determine if I need a full blown hysterectomy (sp). So, I'm ready for some calmness in my life. I'm ready for Thanksgiving so I can have 4 days off of work and I plan on doing NOTHING!

Yes yes yes, we want to see the puppy pics. I wish I could smell them. lol. Have I told you guys lately how much I HATE THOSE DAMN SCALES? I swear, I want to just kick the living H-E-L-L out of those scales. I swear, I think they have a mind of their own and just wants to taunt me at times. I REFUSE, let me say it again, I REFUSE to stay at where I'm at. I don't care, I will not quit at 170 or 165, I MUST get to my goal. I did not have this surgery to lose just 80% of my excess weight, I had the surgery to lose all 100% of it and thats what I intend to do, no matter HOW LONG it takes. So I will beat those darned stubborn scales, I will do it, they will NOT win. Last week I weighed in at 167, this week I'm at a freaken 4 lb gain, what in the world? I did have a lot of sodium this weekend, so i'm hoping if I drink lots of water it will flush the water weight out. I think I need to throw the darned scales away if they aren't going to be nice to me! Kity - sorry your feeling bad, hope you have a speedy recovery!

I did have a lot of salt this weekend, lots of sodium I guess, so I'm upping my Water today and the next few days to see if I can flush the crap out of my system. Well, I better get back to work, busy busy busy day today.

Ahhhh how sweet it is! Welcome to wONEderland! And you go get your self all pampered up girlfriend, you deserve it!

I think if you have a slippage, you PB on like EVERYTHING. I think our bands some times are tighter than other times. I reading a site awhile back (forget where I read it) and it said "if you are getting the band, be prepared that your restriction will change, not only day to day, but meal to meal." I find this is soooo true! By the way, made the Peanut Butter Protein balls last night, OH MY, yum yum. Now I am going to have to use some self control so I don't eat the entire batch in one day! Okay, heading off to work .............

i am staying on plan today because ...

I'm staying on plan because I want to be a skinny beotch too! -
The Peanut Butter balls sound soooo good, I'm going to try and make some!!!! I feared a slip band as well, but not so. If you have problems, I would go see your doc. What type of problems are you having? Or are you just fearful? I was so paronoid of it for a while, but not so paranoid any longer. Besides, I rarely rarely rarely PB. I heard a lot of PB would cause it?

Day three of my pouch test. For info on this check this site out - http://www.5daypouchtest.com/ Today I can have proteins, but soft proteins. So far menu as follows: Bfast - yogurt with added protein mix Lunch Chicken soup, mostly ate the chicken Dinner canned white meat chicken with a little spinach dip mixed in. Wt - didn't weigh today - yay. I'm trying to stay off the scales until Monday....

As always, thanks for the support Band_Groupie and ajoneen!

No, it is NOT normal. lol. The doc feels I have a fickle band, I feel like he is not good at giving fills. I wonder sometimes if he gives me a fill and the needle is not all the way into the port, because when I go back its always LESS than he gave me, except this last time. I hope i'm there too. So far it seems to be "okay".

Fill #1 - 3/6/07 - 2.2cc's Fill #2 - 4/17/07 - 3.0cc's Fill #3 - 7/6/07 - 3.5 cc's (I think it was only 2.5cc's because when I went back for fill #4, he could only w/draw 1.8 cc's) Fill #4 - 7/20/07 - filled me back to 3.0 ccs - He should have filled me more! Fill #5 - 8/17/07 - 3.4cc's Fill #6 - 10/08/07 - filled me to 3.8cc's - the best restriction I've ever had,but still could eat big bites of food, so I figured I needed to be tighter. Fill #7 - 11/21/07 filled to 4.0 cc's. By the evening could not hold anything down, not even my saliva. PBing all night - horrilble experieince UNFILL #1 - 11/23/07 - unfilled to somewhere between 2.5 to 3.0 cc's - NO RESTRICTIONS AGAIN  Fill #8 - 1/18/08 Went in and the doc filled me back up to just right under 4.0, according to Flouro, it was perfect. Well, by next morning, could not hold down saliva again, ended up back in hospital UNFILL #2 - 1/19/08 - Doctor had to unfill me to 3.0 again because of the swelling from all the PBing for being too tight. Again, NO RESTRICTION - :cursing: Fill #9 - 2/12/08 - 3.5 cc's - was tight for about a week, now feel lose again. grrrr, still have "some" restriction, just not quite enough! Next fill scheduled for 4/7/08 - I hate that it takes sooooooo long to get in to see the fill doc. FILL #10 - 4/7/08 The doc just added .4cc's, making me at 3.9cc's. I think this might be the one! FILL #11 - Was scheduled on 6/25/08 - but the doc did not fill me up, I was leaving for a cruise on 6/27 so he didn't want to risk me being too tight, so did not get a fill. FILL #11 - 8/5/08 Went for a fill, this time the doc took all my fill out and all he could get out was 2.4 cc's. Filled me up to 4.0 cc's, I left, had to go right back because I could not drink, he took out a little over .2 cc's, he said I'm somewhere between 3.5 to 3.7 cc's. - I had great restriction for 2 weeks, but It has now loosened some. I feel I might need a tad more. I'm worried I have a very slow leak. UNFILL #3 - 8/5/08 - Took a little over .2 cc's out, had pretty good restriction, but still a tad too lose. FILL #12 - 9/17/08 - Added just 1/10th of a cc - I think I'm somewhere between 3.8 to 3.9 cc in a 4cc band. I am hoping and praying this is the fill that I stop with! I do not have another appointment for another fill, will wait this one out and see. Fill #13 - 10/06/08 - Doc added about 2/10's of a cc. He took everything out and put it all back in and said I was about 3.7 to 3.8cc's. - which is where he said I was last time. FILL #14 - 11/10/08 - Doc took everything out and I had about 3.6cc's, which is pretty good. He then filled me up to just under 4.0cc's I believe I'm about 3.9cc's. I ate some canned peaches and set around the office for a bit, made sure none came back up. Seems to be doing good so far. I hope this is my last fill!

Congrats on losing 2 lbs!!!! Here is a few things I plan on eating Day 3 & 4 canned chicken breast mixed with a little spinach dip - tostiodos dip is pretty good 2 TBS is 50 cal (to give it moister and more flavor) tuna salad - tuna mixed with some ff mayo and boiled egg white creamed tuna - i make this with a litty cravy and tuna, sounds gross but really good day 5 - ground hamburger meat seasoned with taco, with cheese and salsa mixed in Hamburger soup - its like a stew but made with hamburger grilled fish grilled chicken, marinated first to make sure its moist Roast - cooked in crock pot all day I don't plan on eating these things all at once and on the same day, just some ideas I thought of. Day 5 is pretty much anything that is good Protein. The trick is to eat ONLY FOR 15 min. Then STOP. Okay, gotta get back to work.
-
198 - wow congratulations!!!!! I know you are soooo soooo excited! Don't sweat the scale, I would wait and weigh on Monay if I were you. I doubt it will go up much, but just in case it does, this way - you will NEVER see 200 again! I am on day 3 of the pouch test. I am not sure if I might have kinda cheated, but I don't think it was a cheat. We went to lunch today at Chili's, I got a bowl of chicken enchilada soup. I didn't even eat 1/2 the bowl, and I mainly ate the soft chicken out of it....but besides that, I've done really good. For dinner, I'm having some canned chicken mixed with a little spinach dip. yum yum. Are you noticing anything Sula? I seem to be tighter, but it might have to do with my fill I just had. I notice drinking water I have to slow down a lot too. Well, I guess I'm the only weird one that CAN'T throw up. I barely or rarely even PB. hmmmmm. Okay, talk to everyone later.
