    We're coming up on our 2 year anniversary, how is everyone doing? Are you satisfied with the results. For the most part, I am satisfied, however, I am not satisfied with my weight. I know that I need to work my tool more and not let the band do all the work. I've decided this will be my year! 2009 is going to be the year I reach my goal! I'm closer to goal than I have ever been, so I am happy that I got the band. I just want to reach my goal now and not look back. So, I'm refocussed and ready to hit my goal! How are you guys doing?

    my surgery is scheduled for 1/14/09, and it might change. I will know for sure on 1/7/09 when I go in for a pre-op. I am not going to get an unfill, I'm going to stay the course. I rarely rarely have any problems with my fill. I don't PB, and I can eat pretty much everything, even bread. However, I just can't eat much of anything. The one thing I've learned that I can't eat is hamburgers. I don't know if its just too much bread with one bite, or what, but they do not go down. I can eat bread by itself, but not with a hamburger, strange. Yay, eating crap at xmas must agree with ya. lol. Down a pound, thats great! I've stayed off the scales. I need to get to the gym, been too lazy lately. Well, I'm headed off to a "girls party" with a bunch of my girlfriends, we're just having some wine and playing some games. It should be fun. Talk to everyone later.

    Sula - hello there! I was having reflux, however, since I've cut out the late nite eating, I've been okay. I notice my band tighter around "that time of month". It gets very lose right before TOM comes, then it gets tight when TOM is here. I still don't PB or anything, I just have to slow down eating when TOM is here. I actually wish I had this restriction all the time, but I don't. I think different things can make the band tighter, and I do notice it changes on me from day to day, and sometimes from meal to meal. Its weird, but its something I have grown used to now. It used to bother me, now I am just used to it. I am so ready to be done with TOM. I can't wait, I am on my very last TOM cycle for the rest of my life! I get my hysterectomy next month, so I am dealing with this one okay since I know this is my last one I will ever have! I'm so ready to have all this taken out of me! lol. Take some over the counter pepcid complete or try the prilocec, you will take it for 14 days straight, and it really does help.

    I got an email from my gym and they are charging $899 for 20 sessions. I would like to do it, however, my upcoming surgery in January is preventing me from doing it. I know that I won't be able to do vigerous exercise for at least 6 weeks, but probably more like 3 months. Especially if I get the tummy tuck, I know you can't do anything for 3 months. I've been trying to exercise as much as possible before my surgery, but I haven't been that great at it. :thumbup: Eating has been so so, I have stayed of the scales lately, so not sure the damage I've done, or if I have even done any. I can usually tell if I gain weight or lose weight before even stepping on the sclaes. I have felt no changes, so I'm probably right at 166 to 170, I seem to bounce in those areas. I'm so close to goal, but yet so far! I really wanted to get to 155 by my 2 year band anniversary, but not sure if that is going to happen. :eek: Anyhow, I hope everyone is doing good and has a wonderful week.

    Yesterday I ate too much, too much sweets around the office. A girl made this delicious pumpkin cake for me. And guess what, I ate some. grrrrrr. I am back on track today. I had my weight control oat meal for bfast and having some turkey for lunch. ONe thing I have learned from the band is, just because you blow it one meal, or even one day, doesn't mean its over. Just get back on track, the band will help you get back on track too. I did go to the gym last night, I had a really hard 1 hour workout. Pre-band, I would have said "I already blew it today, why work out?". But the new me knows that working out is the key to succeeding with the battle of the buldge. I didn't step on the scale this morning, and probably won't until Monday. My goal for the weekend is eat clean and exercise!

    8 lbs that is AWESOME! Congratulations!!!! Girl, you betcha, you ARE going to make this happen! Glad your feeling better! I am no longer having the horrible reflux, so it must have been drainage. I was worried I was going to have to go get an unfill, but all is good now. Back to perfect restriction!

    Last of 2008 Weight Loss Challenge

    I FINALLY lost 1 more pound, I actually had a 4 lb loss overnight. I weighed 170 yesterday and today down to 166. I hit a new low. I haven't been this small in 20 years! I don't think I will hit my goal of 160, since we only have two weeks left. It takes me a lot of hard work and dicipline to just lose 1 lbs. But I'm happy with my progress.   10. Okay, the next get together in Texas, I wanna come! It sounds like you guys had a blast! Texas is my neighboring state, I live in Oklahoma, so it wouldn't be anything for me to come down. lol. Today makes my 23 month band anniversary and I woke up and lost 4 lbs overnight, putting me down to 166, a new all time low for me! I'm so happy! I hope everyone stays nice and warm today, sounds like its getting snow and ice all over the US. We are supposed to get it on Saturday night. yuck. Us okies don't do good on the ice. lol

    23 mo band anniversary

    Consultation with Doc 11/24/06 - 248.9 Surgery Date 1/18/07 - 226 1 mo post op (Feb 18)- 206.8 2 mo post op (March 18) - 198 3 mo post op (April 18th)- 193 4 mo post op (May 18th)- 184.2 5 mo post op (June 18th(- 178 6 mo post op (July 18th)– 174 7 mo post op (Aug 18th)- 178 - went on vacation and ate big (7 day cruise) 8 mo post op (Sept 18th)- 174 9 mo post op (Oct 18th)- 170 10 mo post op (Nov 18th) - 167 11 mo post op (Dec 18th) - 170 - haven’t even been trying 12 mo post op (Jan 18th 2008)- 174 - again, not trying. But finally refocused - exactly where I was at 6 mos post op – so basically no weight loss in the past 6 mos 13 mo post op (Feb 18th) - 183 - Ouch! started taking steroids and made my weight go up, along with not eating right and no exercise! 14 mo post op (March 18th)- 185 - grrrrr 15 mo post op (April 18th)- 180 - weight is finally going down, but inches are actually coming off faster since I've been exercising a lot. 16 mo post op (May 18th)- 178 17 mo post op (June 18th)- 175 18 mo post op (July 18th)- 179- still not focussed:sad: 19 mo post op -(Aug 18th) - 178 - focussed again - This time I am committed to getting to goal and will not stray! I do not ever want to see the 180's again! 20 mo post op (Sept. 18) - 171 - :biggrin: 21 mo post op (Oct 18) - 168 22 mo post op (Nov 18) - 169 - I am focussed and doing good, but need to get back to exercising. I want to hit 160 by year end. 23 mo post op (Dec 18) - 166 - only 6 more pounds to get to my goal by year end. I don't think it will happen, but I will continue to try.
  12. Hi all, I'm just swinging by, well because I haven't in awhile. Just wanted to say Hello to everyone. The big news in my world is I'm having a hysterectomy - and the doctor that is doing it is giving me a "free" tummy tuck. He always does it for the women he has to cut. So, I get a little bonus out of the deal. LOVE IT. I am having surgery next month, I'm so ready to be out of my "female" pain and issues. Hope everyone is doing great and enjoying their season.

    HELP!! Food is getting stuck so easily!

    Mix a little meat tenderizer with Water and sip on that, it helps to break down what is stuck. Also you could sip on pinapple juice, it works!
  14. Anything about 1000 and I don't lose. I go between 800-1000. I have a very slow matabolism. I've been exercising A LOT, so hopefully that will help!

    I watched the biggest loser show last night, all I can say is WOW. It was the finale, and I just can't believe how these people changed thier lives. They all looked sooooo good. It really inspires me. After the show, I went to the gym and had a really good workout. Tomorrow will mark 23 months since banding, and its getting so hard to lose a pound. It takes everything in me to lose a pound. One binge and I'm up 5 lbs. so frustrating. I need to stay focussed to lose the rest of my weight! Plan today: Bfast - just had some coffee Lunch - chicken breast and small spinach salad Dinner - chili - made with extra lean beef and Venison. Exercise - 3:00 PM - 20 min on eliptical 9:00 pm - circuit training and working lower body with weights - 1 hour Wt - 170.6 (down a pound from yesterday)

    I had a long weekend, and ate way too much! I surprised DH with a spa retreat weekend (it was our 20 year anniversary). Anyhow, we ate out every night. I had horrible reflux and Sunday night was the worst. It was coming out my nose!!!! I finally got up and slept sitting up on my couch. I really couldn't sleep. Last night I went and bought some sudeafed, I think I might have some sinus drainage, anyhow, I did sleep a lot better last night. Only woke up a few times coughing, and it was barely a cough. I am reluctant to go get an unfill, my last fill was 6 weeks ago, and everything was perfect until just recently. I'm not sure if its my allergy or sinus, or if I could be just too tight. I'm going to wait it out for a week and see how I do. I can eat, i am just having a time with my reflux in the evening time. I'm going to stop eating by 7 tonight, take my sudaphed, and see what happens. If I still have the reflux, then its time for a tiny tiny unfill. wt 171.6 - grrrrr the weekend eating out has made my weight go up. Exercise - 3:00 - 15 min on elliptical 8:00 pm - 1 hour at the gym, circuit training, cardio and upper body weights.

    Reflux/Difficulty Swallowing

    The same thing has happened to me, I figued out that I'm having some sinus drainage at night, therefore, making me have acid reflux. Last night I took sudafed PE and that helped. What was happening is I was PBing my saliva at night (due to the drainage) which was making me tight. Tis the time of season for all the drainage, so you might try something like that. If it continues, you really need to have it checked out.

    Juno - GO GET ANTIBIOTICS! I have a sinus infection too and started the zpac and already feel sooooo much better. When your sick, its hard to get to the gym. But hey, you lost 2 lbs this week, congratulations! I've been missing in action for the last few days, i've been sick myself. I also had a spa weekend with my hubby, it was our 20 year anniversary so we just spent the weekend together at a spa resort, it was sooooo nice. Well, talk to everyone later.

    Hey guys.....Sula - wow, surgery? I can't remember what type your having? How long til you find out if your insurance approves? Juno - hope you feel better soon! Things are plugging away for me. I notice that before I struggled between 170 to 174, now my weight bounces back from 166 to 170. Saturday, I had reached a new low of 166, today I'm at 170. My stomach is very bloated. I cannot weight for my surgery! I know I will feel better, and I honestly believe I will lose weight. I won't have all the Water retention I have, and the bloated belly. Anyhow, I've been good in the exercise department the last week. I went last night, so tired and almost blew it off, but forced myself to go to the gym. I was glad I did. Well, talk to everyone later.

    Well, things are rolling along, I'm doing great, then what happens? Well, I start to sab0tage myself. I go on an eating binge that last approximately 5 days. Man, old habits are hard to break! I will say, since the band, my binges are less frequent, however, the band has not stopped my binge eating. I am not able to binge on as much food pre band, but let me tell you, I can still hold my share of eating. Not that I eat a whole lot, I guess what I do now when I binge eat is eat the wrong stuff. I ate about 2 pieces of Tres Leches cake - yum. I guess I should be happy that all I was able to eat was 2 pieces. Pre band - I would have eaten at least 1/2 the cake. Now, thats not all I ate during my bings, everytime I would eat - I turned to sugar, instead of my good protein. It was a vicious cycle. I don't know what is wrong with me sometimes. But, because of eating the WRONG stuff, the scale has not moved. Also, when I binge eat, I figure, why exercise, so I don't even exercise. Enough of my talk, enough of being down about it, so I got rid of the cake, and headed to the gym last night and I just got back from the gym today. So, I'm over my binge eating for awhile. And over whatever made me snap and go crazy. My question to myself is WHY? Why do I do it? I'm doing so great then all of a sudden somthing snaps inside of me and I go completely CRAZY with food. Why? For the life of me I cannot figure it out. They say people eat because of emotions, but I can't figure out what emotions are causing me to eat. I have a wonderful marriage of 20 years, two beautiful children and my life is for the most part is perfect. Or at least, its perfect for me. My dad was going thru an ordeal, he almost died in November, however, he had two surgeries and pulled thru wonderfully. The binge eating didn't even start until a few weeks AFTER his ordeal. I held myself together and made good food choices when he was going thru his ordeal, so not sure why all of a sudden, when things are good, I go crazy. So, this is something that I must work on. I must be good to myself and quit trying to destroy all the work that I've done to get to my weight. Well, my goal was to weigh 160 by end of the year. In order to do that, I need to lose 2.5 lbs every week until the end of the year. Can I do it? Darn right I will! So I am making a promise to myself that I WILL be good to me. I WILL NOT binge eat. I WILL go to the gym, and I WILL do everything in my power to reach my goal. I deserve it and I'm worth it. Now, how is that for self talk. :thumbup: wt - 167.9 exercise - 10:00 am 20 min eliptical HIIT 3:00 pm upper body work out 9:00 pm - 30 min on eliptical Goal for the weekend - 1. stay off the scale 2. eat clean 3. Go to the gym - EVERYDAY!
