  1. oh you are so right! I have taken many pics- in a bikini too, just so I can compare my progress. Maybe some day when I'm brave enough, I will share...lol. I do the BFL challenge and they encourage the pics....
  2. Thats right, I am doing so great in the exercise department. I worked out so hard for 6 days last week. I mean really hard, where sweat is dripping off me and my shirt looks like someone dumped a bucket of water over me. I am so proud of myself for getting back to the gym and making NO EXCUSES! I almost blew it off last night, I was so tired and I worked all day with my husband in garage, so I was telling myself, I already had a workout. But as the night grew closer, I started feeling guilty, so I headed to the gym and did a gruelling cardio and lower body workout! My face was beat red, I think some of the people around me thought I was going to pass out. LOL. They were all looking at me like "is she okay". One guy even said to me "your serious about this stuff aren't you". uhhhh, hello, Heck yes I'm serious! So, I jump on the scale this morning and AGAIN, no loss. I've eaten good all week, really I've eaten good for the past two weeks and I've exercised 6 days a week for the past two weeks, you would think the scale would be a little nicer to me. Heck no, the scale likes to treat me like the red headed step child! Okay, I can't focus on numbers, I just can't. I feel good, I look good, and my clothes are fitting better. So no matter what the scales say to me, I know its working! Today's menu Bfast 1/2 cup bran fiber one cereal - 1 pt 1/2 cup skim milk - 1 pt mixed fruit added in (Strawberries & blueberries) - 1 pt Snack 1 apple and WW cheese - 2 pts Lunch 3 0z of chicken breast - 3 pts 1 whole wheat, lc tortilia - 1 pt salsa - 0 pts cilantro - 0 pts snack 1/2 cup cottage cheese, sliced peaches - 3 pts Dinner 1 cup lean chili - 6 pts ww cheese - 2 pts 20 pts total Exercise - 30 min elliptical Upper Body workout at gym - 15 min of cool down time on elliptical Wt - AM naked on scales at home - 164.6 (yesterday was 163.4) grrrrrr:cursing: NOTES - tonight is my WW meeting and for the past 3 weeks I have weighed exactly the same - 167.6 with my clothes on ofcourse, so we'll see what tonight brings.
  3. Thanks so much fitblab - I know, I've been reading up on this thing, and I know that building muscle is important and its leaner than fat. I know that I am losing fat, and gaining muscle. I just wish the scale would cooperate a little more. lol. I think I'm going to take my measurements tonight and compare them with where I was 6 weeks ago.....I think that will help me realize I am losing, and eventually the scale has to move, right?

Ali was recently in Womens Health magazine and she stated that she has been able to maintain her loss by doing 1 hour of cardio in the am, and she does another in the evening, and she does strength training 3x's per week. So she basically puts in at least 2 hours at the gym a day. Most of the contestants lose more weight then they really want to maintain at the finale. They drop as low as possible in hopes of winning the grand prize, but normally they know they will put some back on because the weight at the finale is not where they want to stay or its not a weight they can maintain. Many of them eat nothing but water and celery for days leading up to the finale and as soon as the finale is over, they gain weight back just be eating normally. The show has some rules that say you could be disqualified for being so dehydrated, but so far, they have not enforced those rules. I remember Kai saying she ate nothing but brocoli for a week before the finale. They work so hard on the show, and after to lose the weight, its a shame they put it back on. It all gets down to, you have to lose weight for yourself. Losing too fast just isn't realistic long term either. Its great for those who have been able to maintain the loss, but as you can see, most do not. Makes me so happy for my silicone buddy. My band will help me maintain! Ali said she was going to get back up to 128 to 130, but has been able to maintain at her 125 weight. She looks so good!

The BL season 1 winner (Ryan) gained his back as well...... See the article below and click on the different BL Seasons: Where are the 'Biggest Losers' now? - 'Biggest Loser' on TODAY Looks like Ali is still doing great! We'll see her tomorrow night. One of my favorite contestants was Matt Hoover, he has gained some of his weight back and so did she - his wife who was 3rd runner up durring the same season. He ended up proposing to her. They have had two children now and I saw them on Larry King live. They said the hardest thing was keeping the weight off and keeping up with exercise. ON the show, exercise is your job ( they usually put in 5 hours a day), but in real life, it just doesn't work that way.

Here is an article I received in my email today....just a little of what will happen tomorrow night. Can't wait to see Ali! Unlucky Number 13? Week 13 brings threats back to the ranch On tomorrow night's Biggest Loser, the nine remaining players at the ranch get a threatening surprise: Three eliminated players are back. But just one of them will get to return to ranch competition. Who will it be? The game swaps one Ali for another this week when season-five champion Ali Vincent emcees the activities while host Alison Sweeney takes time off to be at home with her newborn baby girl. Congrats, Ali! The physical challenge is all about balance and has contestants standing on a platform suspended six feet over a pool of water. At the weigh-in: more surprises and not all of them good. Several unlucky players face disappointing numbers, leading to an emotional elimination round. We're in singles competition now, and all loyalties are in question. Who will make it to week 14 at the ranch? We'll be watching and waiting to see.

Yes Sula, stop your bellyaching! lol. 4 lbs is great! Be careful with the knee, take it slow, you don't want to have an injury and then be down for awhile. Have I told you guys that I hate the freaken scales....I mean I really hate the little bastard. I want to take it and throw it out the window some times! Let me tell you, for the past 2 weeks I have a new attitude about exercise. I'm making NO EXCUSES and I've headed to the gym 6 days a week. I've eaten clean, I mean really really good. We go out to eat, I eat grilled fish with double vegies, or I had the WW grilled chicken at Applebeas. So I was hoping the scale woud move somewhat, but it hasn't. I mean, it keeps bouncing from 163 to 165. This morning it was 164.6, yesterday it was 163.4. For the past 3 weeks at weight watchers meeting I have weighed exactly the same, I mean exactly. I weighed 167.6 (with clothes on), and not one ounce difference. Tonight is my weigh in night, so we'll see. I shouldn't let the scales play me like this, because my clothes are looser, I swear I feel like I've lost at least 10 pounds but the scales just don't show it. I know, I know, I'm probably gaining muscle and losing fat, which I know is probably true. I just want the scale to show me some loss. YOu know what I mean. It just feel like such a victory with the scales show that I've lost. grrrrrr

Well, I googled him and found this: http://www.bittenandbound.com/2009/01/19/erik-chopin-biggest-loser-gains-122-lbs-photos/ He didn't gain it all back, but did gain 50% of it back. Makes me so happy I have my little helper, the band! It keeps me from regaining! Even when I have splurged on cruises, vacations, etc. I gained little or nothing. I love my band!

Wow thats too cool you get to pick his brain with questions! What does he do at Gold's Gym? Is he a trainer? I can't wait to see the contestants next week! I love the see the changes they make, it gives me major motivation! I was listening to the radio and they were talking about Eric, I think he won last year, or the year before? Anyone remember him? They said they had read he put on all his weight again and plus some? Just curious if it was true.....Wouldn't surprise me, but dang he looked so good I would hate it if he did gain it all back.

9 FREAKEN pounds and I will be at a healthy weight! 9 freaken pounds - and it is taking me FOREVER to lose them. Its the hardest 9 pounds I have ever tried to lose. Did you guys hear me, 9 FREAKEN POUNDS and I will be at a healthy weight. It feels like a dream to even type those words. I never thought I would be this close to being healthy. Oh, I dreamt it, but its really coming true. I sometimes focus on how long it is taking me, but if I really stop and think about it. Its taken me less time to lose it then it did to put it on. It took me 20 years to get up to 248 lbs, so I shouldn't be so upset at taking 2+ years to reach my goal weight with the band, right? I was thinking this morning as I glanced at one of my pictures on my desk with my kids, and made me think how far I've come. To know I will never ever ever be 248 lbs again, thats something to be happy about. So, I'm trying to stay positive, and focus on the weight I've lost and not the weight I need to lose. Speaking of my picture, my new boss was over at my desk the other day and he asked me if that was my sister, I told him it was me. His jaw dropped down to the floor, he tried not to act so shocked, but I could see it in his face. I said "well, I've lost a few pounds since then" His reply "you think?". lol. I love to see peoples reaction when they see the new me. Its the best reward of all. Plan today: Exercise - 10:00 am - 6 min on recumbant bike - 15 min on elliptical 3:00 pm - 20 min on elliptical 6:00 - dinner with some old high school buddies, planning our 25 year reunion - 9:30 - Gym - 40 min on elliptical and upper body training 11:30 - BED Menu Breakfast - yogurt mixed with granola - 5 pts Lunch Fish Taco (Wheat tortilia, WW cheese, Talapia, Cilantro, salsa, fresh squeezed lime) = 4 pts Snack - 1 orange, string cheese - 2 pts Dinner 1 chicken taco - 5 pts beans - 3 pts Few chips and salsa (6 chips only = 1.5 pts) 20 pts total Wt - 7:30 am naked - 164.6 (up .3 from yesterday)

OMG - me too! First I was getting a little perterbed at her for crying over the fact she got so many pounds added to her, but then I was so proud of her for saying "catch me if you can". I think this should prove to everyone how strong and determined she is. Made me want to go pull a car myself, lol.

Bandana, its your band, your paying for the fill, make them do it right! Stick with the personal training, it will pay off!

Okay Sula, so you gained a few pounds - WATER WEIGHT. Now that you have some restriction, it will come off! You've got the right attitude, just jump back in there and "Get 'er Done!". Sometimes We think the band is not doing much for us, but then get an unfill and see how much the band really does do for us, its amazing. I remember getting an unfill when I got too tight, and wowza, did I eat! We had a cold front come thru this morning ourselves, I'm ready for spring and ready to say good-bye to winter!

They can if they will just do it. All they have to do is take out 1 cc and then add .8 cc's back in. Thats a net loss of .2 ccs for you. Its amazing what just a fraction of an unfill can do.

You go girl! I usually do my lowerbody and abs one day, and some cardio, then do my upper body the next day with cardio. I try and do cardio everyday. If your sore, just do some walking, it will help with the soreness believe it or not.

Wow, that is a great deal! Wish I had that kind of deal where I live. I had a personal trainer once and I loved it. But it got too expensive so I couldn't do it as long as I wanted to.
