Does that mean I can go get another bite of pizza and have another choco chip cookie? LOL, just kidding. The shake I'm drinking seems to be curbing my appetite, so hopefully that will help. I'm about to go read a book/magazine, that should keep my mind off food! Night - night everyone.........

Today marks 4 more days until my banding. :clap2: I had to start the liquid diet today, and I must say, I have failed. I've tried to be good, I really have. But I'm so hungry! I've got to do better at this! 1 cup of broth slim fast lc shake 1 choco chip cookie bite of pizza sf jello applie juice 1 cup of broth Nectar Protein shake Bite of garlic bread :embarassed: IVE GOT TO DO BETTER! What the heck is wrong with me? I could kick myself! I received a call from my docs off on Friday. My surgery time is 1:00 and I have to be at the hospital at 11:00 am. I'm not sure if I will have to spend the night at the hospital or not since my surgery is so late in the afternoon. I was hoping it would be earlier in the day since I can't have ANYTHING to eat and they are making me wait until 1:00 freaking o'clock. The losers!

OMG, I am on day 1 of liquid phase.....and I've taken a bite of pizza, and 1 choco chip cookie, the rest liquids. I've got to do better! I'm so hungry! I'm drinking a nectar shake right now, hopefully it will fill me up. Man, I still have three more days of liquids and I haven't even made it thru day 1, I suck. I've been doing laundry all day, trying to get it all done before my surgery. The weather here in Oklahoma is really icey and roads are slick. I've been stuck in the house all day, but I really need to be so I can get all my work done. Hope all is doing well.

We will get you added. I have the master list saved on my computer at work, so I will update it with all the new ones and me & angy (jen) will get you guys added.

Hi all, Welcome all you new January bandsters. Do not despair, Angy & I will get you added to our master list. Angy will have to update the first post, since I can't edit her post. But we'll get everyone added in. My master list is at work on my computer, so I have to wait until I get back to work on Monday. Marjon9 - you were right, they first gave me this mask that went completely over my face & nose. I tried really hard to get used to it, I really did. But finally I felt like I was going to suffocate, so I told them i had to have another mask. They then brought me a mask that fit right under my nose, I slept so good after that!

I just found out my sleep testing came back that I do have sleep apnea. :scared: I have to go back tonight for another test with the oxygen so they can determine what machine to give me/or how much oxygen I need. She told me that they monitor the occurances of someone sleeping and if there is more than 5, that person needs to be treated. Anything over 30 is considered severe. My average occurances was 11, so I was considered to be mild/moderate. Anyhow, they will hook me up on a machine and I won't know the test results of this test until Monday. I was concerned that this would delay my surgery, but she said it would not. :clap2:

Well, I just got a call from the sleep study center and I do have sleep apnea, it is not severe, but I do have it. She said anything over 5 occurances in an hour is considered need for treatment, mine was an average of 11. Over 30 is considered severe. So mine was considered mild/moderate. I have to go back tonight for another sleep study test with the machine. She said she won't have the results for that until Monday. They did say that they would not delay my surgery. So I was happy about that. I'm feeling a little bummed too. But, I'm excited about getting something that will help me sleep better, and let me wake up feeling refreshed. Also, I hear it helps you lose weight. :huggie:

A poem I wanted to remember, got it off of a thread here.
tonya66 posted a blog entry in Sunshine2's (Tonya's) Journal
The Woman in the Mirror Walking past the mirrored glass, I take a timid peak. I see a woman staring back, I am to choked up to speak. The puffiness, at last is gone, the skin pink and glowing. The many pounds that melted off, Finally, now is showing. Hard to believe until recently, the same woman was dying. Stuffing the food to ease the pain, Heartbroken and crying. Life revolved around each snack,She lived for every meal. Anything to numb the hurt, She did not want to feel. When did she get so pretty? When did God remove this grief? How did this miricle happen? Who provided this relief? What a gift!! A second chance!! I thank god everyday. For his grace in showing me, there is a better way. I walk, I dance, I make love too, my heart is filled with gladness. I am out of bondage, I am out of pain, there is no more room for sadness. This woman in the mirror, Smiles softly back at me. She has good cause to be pleased, She has finally been set free!!! -

PB stands for Productive Burp. It is when food gets stuck and you must bring it back up, "Productive Burp". Some even refer to it as throwing up, but it is nothing like a vomit, the food hasn't even reached your stomach yet. So its not a throw up, no acid or anything comes with it. So, the key to avoiding PB's, is eat slow, chew your food, and take small bites, The bandster rules.

Mae, I'm afraid that I will have to go back and have another sleep study test with the Cpap machine. I talked to my cousin last night and they told her the same thing when she took her test that she would probably have to come back. When she went back it was to fit her for the cpap machine and adjust to the right oxygen levels. The reason they don't put the machine on you in the beginnine is usually it doesn't show up until the last part of the sleep study, so I bet that is what happened to me. I am still waiting on the doctor to call me to tell me my test results. But hopefully she'll call and say "I did great, I'm just fat and thats why I snore". lol. But, according the tech, I probably will be back.:phanvan

I'm sorry. That does suck, but your right, there is nothing you can do. Being a February Bandster is not bad at all. Your right behind us and you can also be an honorary member of the January Band Crew!:clap2:

I joined this yahoo group called bandsterrecipes@yahoo.com. You can join and everyone sends their recipes. I also purchased the book, eating well after weightloss surgery. I'm still waiting for it to arrive, but once I get it, I will post a few recipes for everyone. Also, there is a yahoo group called proteindrinks@yahoo.com (I believe this is the address). They also post some good ideas on protein drinks, but most of the people on this site are Gastric Bypass. Keep the recipes coming Jen, we need them! The Carnation shake one sounds good. Do they make a low sugar one, or Low carb?

I didn't see it the View either. However, I am mad as heck at that statement. 1) Oh yes, it is so much easier to have surgery than diet an exercise. NOT 2) Its so much easier to chew your food 20 to 30 times per BABY bite, than gulp the food down in two bits. NOT 3) Its so much easier, you don't even have to work at it like you do when you diet and exercise. NOT 4) Its so much easier to get get a fill, then come home and have PB's episodes for days, then realize that your too tight, back to get an unfill. NOT The list can go on and on. I know for me, I've dieted, I've exercises, HARD. Lost 70 lbs, looked damn good (for 5 min) before I gained 100 lbs back. So now I'm taking the easy way out! Oh, that makes me mad. How many hours and nights I have spent tossing the idea, surgery or not, and finally coming to the decision to have the surgery to once and for all lose the weight and KEEP it off. Its reason like the Joy statment that I haven't told people at my job, my family and friends. I don't want to hear "you took the easy way out". When this road HAS NOT been easy for me at all. This has been the HARDEST decision that I think I have ever made. Okay, off my soap box. Who cares what they say! While Rosie will still look the way she does, we on the other hand have taken "the easy way" and did something to improve our health, our life, our image, and just us! Another thing, I think people who say "this is the easy way", really is just jealous, or just not imformed about it. And I don't think they really want to make the necessary changes it takes to lose weight with WLS. So they just say, I'll lose mine the hard way not do it the easy way. Okay, now I'm really going to get off my soap box. LOL

Looks great. We can keep that post updated, and this will cut down on the long post. Wow, our little group has really grown! I think at the end of February, or beginning of March, we should all schedule a chat? We can go into the chat room and just chat. lol. Hey, maybe next January, we can all celebrate by having a trip somewhere. - I'm just full of ideas today, lol. This is going to be such a fun year, I just know it is!
-
Gosh, I feel the same way. I'm now into the single digit days (only 8 more days), and the anticipation is killing me. It helped to have so many appointments this week, however, I am so excited. I am having a hard time focussing on anything!

:clap2:  :whoo:  Yay - I'm SO excited. :hail: Hail to the Queen of January 30th! :hail:

That would be GREAT! Also, since you started this thread, maybe you could go to your very first post, edit it, and add the list to that. That way we can keep the same list, and keep it updated with weight loss, surgery dates, etc. Just a suggestion. I think you can edit your post at any time, but not sure.

First Consult is Tomorrow!
tonya66 replied to TracyinKS's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hey Tracy, I went to a shrink too. My insurance didn't require it, by my doc did. They just want to make sure you can handle the changes, that you are not acting drastically to some decission, your not doing this because "voices in your head" tell you to. You know, that your not crazy. lol. I really enjoyed my shrink. I plan on going back to her after my 6 mos check up. She wants to go over any changes your feeling, etc. -
Shawn, I've edited my list again. Man - I left off a bunch of people this time. Sorry guys/gals!
