I'm almost 3 weeks out, and just now working my way up to the 64 oz of water a day. It is really hard, but the longer post op you are, the easier it gets. Also, I had no desiere to eat either until around 9 to 10 days post op. I'm still only eating about 1/2 cup at each meal.

I had my Doctor appointment 11/22, I was approved by my insurance on 12/07. I waited until January to have my surgery so I could add the cost on my medical spending account.

Take a deep breath, you will be fine. What you are feeling is only natural. Trust me, I did the same thing. Think happy thoughts! -
So far I have no problems with PB. I just get full off of 1/2 cup. However, I am noticing that I'm getting hungry from 2 - 3 hours versus 4 hours.

Well, I'm really the opposite. I was banded on the 18th and still have a lot of restriction. I usually eat about 1/2 cup of food and I'm done. HOWEVER, I am not losing. Here comes all those fears, "will this work", "it won't work for me" etc. I'm just praying this is not yet another failed diet attempt for me. Even though I've lost in the beginning, I've lost nothing in over a week.

Has anyone read the book - "Weight loss surgery for Dummies"? I just bought it off Ebay and it is really informative. It takes you thru the entire process from approval with insurance companies, to dealing with appeals (even has sample letters) to after the surgery and how much you should be eating with each stage. It seperates the Rxy from Lap-band so it is very helpful. It also talks about dealing with head hunger.

I've added you to the master list! Welcome!

HIDE THE SCALES! Remember this is the time for healing, so just focus on eating right. I made the mistake of getting on the scales yesterday to find I'm up 1 lb. I am having my family hide them from me again. This time, I will not get back on them until my 6 week check up - March 1.

I'm about to start the program, I'm about 2 1/2 weeks post op. I can't do too much yet, but I feel I must start exercising to get this weight off. I sure hope it will help with sagging skin.

How does weight lifting effect weight loss?
tonya66 replied to HamuChan's topic in Fitness & Exercise
The more muscle you have, the more calories your body is able to burn. It is amazing how much a difference muscle can do. Below is a link of one of my best friends who did a 12 week body for life challenge. She only lost 20 lbs, but gained muscle and the difference in her body is amazing. She also won 1st place in her age division and won $40K. So it was a sweet victory for her. You have to scroll down to see her after picture. http://www.bodyforlife-tracker.com/showphotos.cfm?id=15910 -
My trainer told me, start on treadmill about 5 - 10 min to warm up the muscles, then do the weight training. You will get better results when you are not so fatigued by cardio. Then after your weight training, do your cardio 30 - 45 min.

I was told by my payflex if the they receive a letter that it is medical necessary, they will honor it. However, your doctor has to state it is medically necessary. -
Hope you get some sleep!

I want to wear a bikini - thats my goal! -
Well, I decided to step on the scales this morning since its been a week since I weighed and it showed me up 1 lb. I was a little upset, but I figure I was on liquids for so long and finally started mushy foods, maybe my body is just getting used to food now. Not sure why I'm up, but I won't let it get me down. I feel really good & energetic today. The Ccap machine is doing wonders for my energy. Last night was the first night I was able to sleep with it all night. Usually I wake up because I open my mouth and then it dries my mouth out and I wake up choking. I finally went back to the sleep center and they gave me a chin strap. Well, that still wasn't working, but last night I figured out how to put the chin strap on where it would keep my mouth closed during the evening and I slept so good. I finally woke up around 4:30 am because my nose piece came off and the air was blowing on my cheek. But I get up at 5 am anyhow, so I pretty much slept with it all night. My menu today looks like the following: Bfast - 8 oz protein shake lunch - 1/2 cup cottage cheese dinner - 1/2 cup of cream of broccoli soup And my goal is to get 64 oz of water in, do 30 min on treadmill.

Well I'm back at work today. I was a little upset this morning when I stepped on the scale and to find that I was up 1 lb from last Monday. I haven't been weighing and had my DH hide my scales, but then I though, maybe I should weigh once per week. Anyhow, wasn't good! I figure my body is just getting used to food now since I was on liquids until last Thursday. I wont let it get me down!

Yay - I finally get to move to mushy food! I'm so happy. Yesterday my menu was the following: Bfast - 1 poached egg, some grated cheese Lunch - 1/2 cup of refried beans with cheese Dinner - 1/2 cup malt o meal with a little splenda, and soy milk Snack - 1/2 cup of refried beans. I need to work on getting my water in, I need to work on getting my protein in.
