nkitajolie replied to getfit48's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
one of my best friends told me his mother had complications when she was banded in new jersey: something about the doctor leaving something behind and an infection. he said once they got that straightened out overall she's been happy w/ it but he just told me to be careful and make sure it's the right thing for me good luck to u tho i hope u feel better and whatever you choose meets w/ success -
Indispensable tools?

I'm not banded yet, but I would like to make a suggestion: if you're looking at blenders, etc., it's NINJA Master Prep alllll the way!! I had the MB and it was ok for a while but it's like a hand-masher compared to an electric mixer lol. And don't worry about infomercial prices and schemes, etc; just go pick it up for like 40 bucks from walmart or bed bath & beyond. Enjoy!:scared2: -

Hey...who is your doctor?! I'm in Baltimore County and I've chosen Dr. Singh in Catonsville. I've only heard good things about him, though so hopefully this isn't him...? -

nkitajolie replied to HAL380's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
to get a job in the FBI:cool: to wear knee-high boots and zip them all the way up:tongue2: to cross my legs without sitting on my hip:thumbup: to see my cheekbones without having to smile:blush: spending less of my time and money on FOOD:drool: -
I told my parents a couple weeks ago, after I'd made my decision; mostly because that's how I've done things all my life (I'd rather apologize later than ask now philosophy). I just kind of announced it at dinner at Cracker Barrel, and we all (brother and sister included) discussed it. I left the conversation feeling like they weren't really too keen on the idea, though. Then for the next couple weeks after that I told them about upcoming appointments, etc. as if they'd always approved of the idea lol. Eventually they started asking questions and one day my dad just said to me out of the blue, "we want you to know we'll be with you every step of the way." It took a few days, but they definitely came around, and are even talking about going to my first appointment with the surgeon w/ me. (we'll see) I'm glad I told them, though. It felt good to be able to tell the psychotherapist (who i met with today) that they would be part of my support system post-op.

United healthcare bandsters!!!!

Caitlin you read my mind! I was wondering this too, since I have it through my job with the state. I called them, and they said that there was a 30-day "written response" period, so I assume about a month after the doctor sends in the information. hopefully that's a limit and not the norm but either way, I'll probably propose that 30 days as a buffer to schedule the procedure--at the most. I want to get this done as quickly as possible. But I do hope we get to hear from someone else w/ UHC about how long it took. -
Hi...first post :smile2:...i'm still looking at doctors, etc., but i like to be prepared and i really want to do p90x. my question is: when you say "recovery formula," are you talking about shakeology? if so, how's that taste? kita
