    Before and after pic

Hey girl you look great!!! I have missed you in the chat, but since I can't get on from work I guess email will have to do. Remember in April that you were upset because you did not look how you wanted?? Well look what a month and half will do! You are my inspiration girl~
  2. Prepare about 1/2 cup if all you eat is a 1/4 then save it, you are going to have to gauge your hunger. That would be a good way so you can see what you are actually eating versus what I call, old habit serving. You know when before the band you served yourself a heaping load and ate it. That is my struggle, I am still serve myself before band and my family laughs at me because they know I wont be eating it all. Everyday I work had to make sure I don't overserve myself, but I slip! I am trying..... Good Luck and Congratulations on your new life

Diets after banding any Ideas ????

Hi! Congratulations on your new life, one thing you need to remember you are healing and that is the number one priority. Yes you will loose weight but you will gain it, and that is ok so don't be hard on yourself just go with the flow. As far as exercise walking is good during post op, but any other form wait till 6 weeks this includes the weights. From what I understand if you work out your core during recovery you can damage the hose that goes from your port to your band, it can become detached. So take it easy and pamper yourself! Sandee

recent lap band - still painful

Hi Angel: Everyone recuperates differently, just concentrate on you, pamper yourself and the rest will be fine. You wil loose but you will gain, don't worry about that everyone does, just work on getting stronger and healing properly. Good luck and Congratulations!~

How can I break a plateau?

Hi Nurse Katie: First off congratulations on your new life! Second: Please concentrate on healing and do not worry about what your eating because right now it has no bearing on your healing. You will loose and gain :smile2: during that time but don't worry! My doctors told me I could gain 2 to 5 lbs during this time, no matter what you will be making healthy choices so you should be fine. I did not gain but I did not loose and all I did was choosing healthy. Once 6 weeks have passed and you have had your first fill, then concentrate on calories and plateaus. Third: Once you do hit a plateau it can be one of two things, a) you are doing the same exercise and your body knows it, so change up exercise routine weekly or :wink5: you have too little calories, if that is the case increase your calories by 100 and give it two days the scale will tell you! Take care and good luck!

    First Fill

I think you have to call your doctors office if you feel that uncomfortable! I had my fill 5.4cc in a 10cc band, I thought I had nothing and wow this morning told me differently! I ate two bites of egg salad and one cracker and I feel like I ate 3 eggs and 10 crackers! I feel almost over full! But I was told that in the mornings I will feel more restriction and in the evening a bit looser. So we shall see but wow what a difference!
  8. Hello Fellow Bandsters! I was banded April 7th had my first fill May 24th, my doctor put 5.4 cc in a 10cc band. I thought that I had no restriction but I was wrong, this morning (I tried) to eat eggs and crackers boy did that get stuck, but it was three bites and now I feel like I ate 3 eggs and 10 crackers. So restriction is there! Here is a note for those of you that are discouraged because you did not loose, ITS OKAY, this is a process and you are going to hit and miss. But go with it! During Post Op I concentrated on healing. I am now working out everyday and making sure that I trick my muscles with different exercise routines. I also make sure that I eat at least 1000 calories because if I do 100 less I wont loose, my body will get into starvation mode and if I go 200 over I gain weight. This is a learning process and when I do well I Celebrate and when I don't I still celebrate because it means I am learning and will be thin!!!! Good luck lets keep this going to support one another!~ Sandee Banded 4/7/10 First Fill 5/24 5.4cc
  9. Hi yello: You will find that most pcp are very positive and will work with you have no fear, just make sure that you have chosen the surgeon you want and that he or she is stellar at he job. As of the co morbidies, if your first pcp has it documented get it, also you may be lucky and your new pcp will work with you throught the pre op diet, most insurance's require 6 months check it out. Once you have worked out your details with your pcp and your insurance just have all your documentation ready for your surgeon. I made sure that all my paperwork was in order and I was approved in 2 weeks! So good luck on your journey and may everything go with out a hitch! Sandee
  10. Go ahead and tell him, he asked be honest, if he is a great guy he will understand,:tongue2: if he is shallow :thumbdown:well it is better to know now than a year down the road. Good luck!

you may also want to change up the exercise, I was told that your body will get use to it so you have to change it up every two weeks. Good luck! S

  13. Hello Ladies: YOU will not have any restriction till after your first fill. Right now concentrate on healing, if you eat more then ok, don't feel bad, just make sure the choices you are making are healthy ones. Heal Heal Heal then after week 6 and your first fill then begin to look for restriction!.

    New to LAP BAND 2010

Welcome ladies to the best thing you will ever do for you! It will have its challenges but you will overcome this addiction to food and your new addiction will be a fun life! I was banded on 4/7 I am a week away from my first fill, it has been tough because I loved my cokes, and candy...etc. Now my new passion is exercise and making the right choices, that is not to say that I don't regress and have something I shouldn't but I do not beat myself up over it. Once it is done I go back to making the right choices. Good Luck Sandee Orientation meeting 2/23 PCP referral 3/11 1st App. 3/22 Approval 4/4 Surgery 4/7

    Dumped because of WLS!

And Sslouha, if he were wanting someone who was emotionally weak, why not go for the girl with low self-esteem? Wouldn't he be able to control someone like that more? I don't know that would be a good question for him. I think sometimes you can have a person with good esteem and when they get into a toxic relationship the person's self esteem tumbles. Not to say it is with you but it does happen. Sometimes guys out of just pure jerkness think that they are God's gift and feel they can control women anyway they want. Some guys love to play the game, lets go out, no I don't really know and the girls believes they can't live without them and boom there goes their self esteem. However there are so many variables when it comes to the affairs of the heart and we can't know what the other person is thinking, but from past experiences can dictate how we react. In college I have some guy friends and they would tell me "oh that girl, all I have to do is snap my fingers and she will be here with whatever I want" I learned from that while not all guys act like that there are a few that will and do take advantage of what ever weakness a woman shows them. I am so glad I am married and do not have to go through these games that people play. You made the right decision for you good luck!

Don't let him get to you! He is a horses ass and deserves to have his balls taken..... Have a great day~ PS. I have been married for 20 years and my husband has been my bestfriend and biggest support in any decision that has to do with me and how I feel or want to feel. That is what you need~

    Already Cheating!

I am so glad everyone here understands, I was banded 4/7 and I will start normal foods tomorrow, but during the mushy stage I stopped weighing myself, and I eat from small bowls. I have also started eating chinese food because it is really light on the stomach and it is healthier with not MSG. I think I am going to continue eating from the small bowls and keep drinking 70 - 80 ounces of Water. I think we all have come to the realization that the food is going to be there it is just how we deal with it. I have not touched Pasta, bread, spaghetti or sweets, because I figured I ate all that before the band and I can do without it after the band ;o) Let keep encouraging each other and allow us to make mistakes, because my co workers don't understand and my family supports me but sometimes they question what I eat which drive me nuts. So thanks to you all for the support you show in hear, it helps me a lot!~
