    Newbie here, sx on 3/31/10!

Good luck tomorrow Allie! I was banded on 3-9-10 and can understand your excitment as well as being nervous. The surgery was a piece of cake for me. However I had awful gas for the 3-4 days following surgery. Make sure you get up and walk around to get rid of the gas. It really does help. If this is any comfort... today I can't even tell that I have been banded except for that fact that I get full faster. Here it is 3 weeks post op and I am exercising and feeling great!

    dealing with a "full" signal

I agree with your thinking of putting the food away when you are full. I find that if food is visible than I tend to I pick at it - grazing is not a good thing. It defeats the purpose of having the band. If you think about how many calories you can consume throughout the day by grazing - absolutely you can gain weight. It sounds like you know when it is time to stop, I applaud you! I am still new to this and trying to retrain my brain. I don't have to finish everything on my plate! I need to stop when I feel full.
