Los Angeles Bandster support group
happylappy745 replied to FrogStar24's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am very interested. I was banded on July 8th. I live in Northridge. Let me know if you settle on a day and time. I was banded at Cedars and the support groups are sometimes too hard to get to. Would love to find some closer by lap band buddies! Jamie -
Hernia pain after lap band surgery?
happylappy745 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had the band done on Thursday July 8th. I also had a Hernia fixed while they were in there. I didn't even know I had one, and I only had occasional heart burn. I am about 2 1/2 weeks out now and I am still in a good amount of regular pain. I have to sleep sitting up or else I can not sleep through the night. I also have to pop Tums and Pepcid regularly to keep the "heartburn" feeling at bay. Has anyone else experienced this pain? How long did it last you? I have asked my doctor and he said this may take some time to heal. I would love to be reassured this isn't going to last forever. THANKS! -Jamie -
I am scheduled for surgery on July 8th. I am nervous because my doctor/center didn't mandate a 'pre-op' diet of liquids. I am worried I have gained weight. Has anyone been denied surgery based on weight gain? I am about a 42 BMI and had no problem getting approved. PLEASE HELP. Should I do my own protien diet?

Any July Bandsters??
happylappy745 replied to Espresso88's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am scheduled for Thursday July 8th... SO EXCITED!! I am curious what causes all the issues with insurance? Is it the type of insurance? I have a PPO, does that make it easier... because honestly I had no problem. I mean it still 4 months from beggining to surgery, but it was mainly because of tests and dr. appts and avaiablity. Anyways, nervous and excited and trying not to feel "the last meal syndrome"
