Hi.  My name is Allie, and I am scheduled for surgery on March 31, 2010.  I have been "husky, chunky, a little flabby, overweight, obese, and finally MORBIDLY OBESE" for the biggest part of my life.  I have been on just about every diet there is.  I have had some success, but I have wrecked my metabolism from the "yo-yo" syndrome.  I am now 38, and I really don't want to be fat when I hit 40.  I have thought, researched, waited, and prayed, and decided to go through with being banded.  Then I had to spend 3 months waiting on the insurance company.  Now I have been through the pre-op testing, am on day 2 of the "pre-op diet" to shrink my liver, and counting down the days.  I know I want, I NEED to do this to save my life, but I will admit, I am scared, but I am willing to give it my all.  The Louisville surgical/St. Mary's Bariatric team are WONDERFUL and are there for me every step of the way, but I could not do it without the love and support of my partner.  I look forward to my new "birthday" on March 31st.
