Suggestions for pre op supplies from Costco, protien shakes, vitamens, food etc?
JulyFireFly replied to lonestarstategal's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
My list for Costco includes the following: Chewable adult multi vitamins, calcium chewables, sublingual B-12 , and Vit D. Just go to the pharmacy and they can assist you in getting exactly what you need. I buy the premier protein shakes, both flavors are great. For extra protein, I blend plain greek yogurt and almond butter with the premier shakes. Both of which they sell there. -

I have BCBS FEP. BMI was 57, 3 month supervised diet with NUT and PCP, psych eval, sleep study = sleep apnea. Had 5 yr weight history. My approval came one day after submitting my paperwork. I was told by my surgeon that my approval came so quickly due to my PCP writing a 3 pg letter supporting my choice to have VSG. He says it played a huge role in the approval process Hope this helps! -

Excited, nervous, slightly scared, but READY!!! I am blessed with a wonderful support system. My husband is on this ride with me and it helps make this process easier. Blessed with awesome kiddos who made me a " Go Mommy!" card for encouragement : ) Spent 3 yrs getting to this point in my life, and I couldn't be more prepared, open and dedicated to this journey! Shout out to Lil' Miss Diva for her support and kind words : ) Sara

I'm starting the process of getting the LB surgery approved by my insurance. I have Cigna, and was curious if anyone else has had issues getting approved?

Thanks lbndoc:redface:. My PCP has said that Dr. Schwartz isn't exactly the most outwardly person, but that he's a great surgeon, and that's what matters in the end! -

Thanks for the info Laura. I researched 3 Doc's last night. I came up with Dr.Simpson, Dr.Blackstone, and Dr.Schwartz. It's just a matter of choosing one and making an appointment! I keep you posted:redface:
