Thank you for your help. I never thought about irritating the band and being swollen. I have moved and am looking into a new Dr. now. I appreciate your help and will try going back to liquids for a few days. Thanks again. -

I Have had a lot of the same problem. Never considered I may be too filled. I've had my lapband since Jan.,2010 and have only had 2 fills. The sliming is driving me nuts. I have lost about 60 lbs. I have a 10cc band and only have 2.5 in. Do you think too full or need to go back to liquids AGAIN? -

I'm at 10 months since my surgery. I still have trouble holding down much of my food and drinking. Some days are of course better than others. I can only eat about 1/4 cup of food at a time & still have trouble keeping it down. There is so much "slime". Is the slime caused by eating certain types of food? I have lost about 55 lbs since I have had it done which is great but I really hate everyting or almost everything coming back up. I have only had 2 fills so I doubt th...

Need advice. Had the lap band 1/28/10 but still having trouble with eating. Everything seams to want to come up with a lot of saliva if I eat before about 5 or 6 in the evening. Then I can eat a small amount of food but still have to be careful. Food seems to get stuck just above the band. Any suggestions?

The whole drinking with meals "RULE"

My doctor recommends not drinking with meals but to drink adequately before a meal and wait at least an hour after meals to drink again. I do not find this difficult if I drink 4-6 oz. before I eat. Drinking with meals fills your pouch and comes back up. You will be fine. This is not difficult at all. -

If you are having trouble swallowing water I would definitely think that your fill is too tight. You should get in touch with your surgeon and see if he can take a little bit out.
I am having the opposite problem. I have had three fills already and still little to no restriction. I have an appointment this Wednesday with Radiology to see if I am getting injected into my port or not.

Hi Mary, My name is Lynn and I was banded January 31st, 2010. I had my first fill 10 days ago and am having difficulty drinking all the water and keeping the food down. Seems to be too much saliva. How are you doing with the food. Do you have any suggestions for me. I'm really excited about loosing the weight. I am much older, 63, but young at heart.

I had my first lap band fill 10 days ago and am still having problems keeping food and some drinks down. Is this usual or can anyone give me any helpful hints.
