I had my lapband surgery done in 1993! (where has the time gone?) I see now that there are numerous advances, changes, and precautions that are taken now, that they did not take when I had my surgery done. I would call my surgery a success, though I have had my share of set backs, including a massive blood clot 2 weeks post surgery that placed me in the hospital for 14 days. I have had 3 pregnancies post surgery and only gained about 22 pounds, (vs 50-60 with the first 2, pre surgery!!!). It has been a life changing event and one that has been, for the most part, positive.
