  4. Yea... I should probably wait. I don't want to do anything crazy... I'm just ready to get this show on the road!! thanks stacey
  5. Kalew mentioned zinc.... maybe we should all up our intake
  6. Wow Bambi At 3 and a half months you may be past the danger zone. I've been getting between 40-60 grms of protein.... I'm definately upping to 75. Did you take Biotin?
  7. Yea Dalisgirl. I'm so happy for you. You seemed so down after that last run at Mexacali. There's no turning back now.... Your new life awaits. Stacey
  8. Dont worry guys.... it goes away. Your body is just trying to get the surgery gas out.
  9. I was in the hospital for 2 days then at a hotel in Mex for 1 night. It wasn't till I got home.... day 4 that I started to feel okay. It got better every day... went for a small hike on day 6. My abdomen is still a little sore but thats about it. :tongue_smilie:

    sleeved and home

Sleep tight Carla. It gets better every day.
  12. I don't know heartonmysleeve. I feel lucky that I had the glue too, but I did have a drain tube. here was a woman in the hopsital with me (same surgeon) who didn't have a drain tube. We asked the nurse and she said that during the womans surgery there was not much drainage and her insides were very "clean" so one wasnt needed. I don't know exactly what that means, and we were struggleing a bit with the language barrier.... thats all I know.
  13. Hey,

I forgot to tell you in my rambeling PM that the pane trip isn't as bad as you might think. Its actually nice to be out in the world and its good to walk through the airports. If I had it to do again I would have upgraded on the return flight. The extra room would have been nice, but your really going to be feeling better than you think.

  14. Welcome Your one tough chic so this should be just another bump in the road for you. Life is really very good after surgery.
  15. WOW... you are truly striking! What an awsome dress. Sometimes it seems hard to believe that I could be tiny but just look at you!!!!! Hot Dog Sista

    2 weeks out

TBtroy I assume your question is when can we exercise. I really really want to start doing something but we have so many restrictions right now. I have been going on short hikes with my dogs but I want to work up a sweat. I was a real exercisor pre op and I miss it. I don't want to chance anything going wrong though. I also worry about getting dehydrated with strenuous exercise at this point (I'm 9 days post op). What did you doc give you for guidelines? Mine said walking any time lite exercies at 3 weeks full exercise at 6 weeks I thought about swimming too but its bad for the incision sites.

    Am I stupid..hmmm

Hey Tiff, Thanks for sharing the good and the bad. Yes.... it freaks me out a bit, but its certainly info we all need.
  18. Hey Driver, Glad to see your post... maybe that means your doing better. I would really like to be able to offer whatever support I can and I'm sure there are lost of members who would as well. Maybe you could start a new thread. I would jump on. Take care and I hope your feeling better Stacey
  19. There was no way I could have choked down a shake in those first days. I ordered a bunch of fruit drinks online from "bariwise". They are just like crystal lite only 12-15 grams of protein. It will get easier!!
  20. I don't know but I sure hope not. I'm subscribing to this thread so I can get others take on this.

    Not enjoying food!!

I'm still on liquids but I had a huge sweet tooth pre op. Now I find myself craving protien. I can't wait until I can have a scrambled egg with a little cheese or some soft pork or fish. I think our tasts do change. I loved granola and yougart but I don't think it would do it for me now. Maybe try something more salty and meaty?

    I'm young

I am 44 and the only regret I have is that I didn't do this earlier. I wasted so much time sitting in corners being the fat girl. I feel like my life is just starting when it should have started years ago. The only thing I think about is that if I had gotten the surgery younger I might not have changed my lifestyle.. I was not very mature at your age (it sounds like your a little more grown up than I was) and I was still looking for a quick fix. I would have depended on the sleeve to do all the work and not adopted healthy habits.

    Date changed

Coach... You will be so surprised how easy it is to get by on very little calories post op. Pre Op you might as well have shot me in the face as tell me I had to be on liquids for several weeks. But its really not that bad. You'll do fine. Stacey
  24. Sometimes it seems just impossible that I could be thin. Its hard to believe that this time next year I will be sliping into a size 8. I have believed this so many other times... so many diets and miracle cures... its hard to really believe its true. I kep looking for the evidence to support my theory that there is no hope for me. WOW... what a defeatist attitude. It'll happen this time!!!!
