WOW!!! good job on 25 lbs..... good to hear your feeling better -
Part of the reason I got the surgery was to be free from obsessive dieting and letting the numbers on the scale rule my life. I weighed daily at first just because it was so exciting but the first day I stayed the same (I think around day 14) I took the batteries out of the scale. I want to weigh once a month because I can't stand the mind #$%@ that comes with the stalls etc. I know in my head that stalls are about your body using water to convert fat to glycogen... but I cant help but let the number freak me out. Scales are evil (for me anyway)

Around day 6 I started to actually WANT food. My stomach wasn't ready, but my brain was. I'm at day 18 and some days I want it and some days I don't. It will get better.

Any People With Gastric Sleeve Leaks?
stcyt replied to Driver63's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Driver... how are you doing? Are things improving as planned? -
I loved sushi pre-op. I don't know how it will be now though. You really have to eat a big piece of food at one time. It would be weird to take a piece and cut into bite size pieces. Right now I'd be surprised if I could get one in.... I am interested to hear what others have to say.

Sounds Like fun Goodlife!!!! Let me know how you do

Your gonna do fabulous My doc said I could have an ambien the night before surgery because I knew I would be too excited to sleep. You might ask. Just a thought -
Thanks tiff I was told to go with white instead of red because red can cause acid reflux. I'm not a huge drinker... I'm getting to that age where the cons are starting to outweight the pros (hangover wise). I just like to do the friday night girl thing. My doc said I can pretty much do whatever I want pat 6weeks. I was just curious what others have said

Weakness, Short of Breath, Rapid Heartbeat...
stcyt replied to girly.girl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't know about the shortness of breath stuff but maybe you could make some kind of smoothie with greek yougart. Its got a crazy lot of Protein in it. Maybe some yougart in the blender with some artificial sweetner and orange extract (extract of your choice but I love orange). Just a thought. If your doc says its okay you could blend some fruit up in there. My guess would be walking would help the shortness of breath. Take care Stacey -
I can eat too much...?
stcyt replied to ouroborous's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't know if its "normal" or not, but I notice that some days I can eat 4oz and some days only 2. I do think that individual anatomy plays into things. I am tall, 5'7'', and I presume that my sleeve is a bit longer than someone who is 5'. Just a guess. I don't think you have to worry about not loosing though. No matter what you will not be able to "over eat". Just stick to healty stuff and stop eating when you feel full or tight and you will loose. Take care stacey -
I forgot to tell you.... take about $20 in pesos. thats all you'll need. just for broth and water at the hotel.
Did you get my other message? I don't see it posted here but I sent you a big one. Let me know if you didn't get it and I'll either write it again or figure out what happend to it.

Your gonna do great. Can you believe its finally here. I know those days leading up are nerve wracking. I'm so happy for you. I can't wait to hear your thoughts on the sleeve (once you recover that is) Post as soon as you can Stacey -
Yea.... I knew it would happen:bananapowerslide: Its just impossible that with as few calories as we are taking in that we arn't burning fat. It just has to work!!!! I'm still scared to get on the scale. I'm waiting till the 21st because that is the one month mark. I can tell I'm not looseing right now and I know that number will do a mind !$#@ on me. take care Stacey

my doc said to let the toradol disolve in my mouth. He probably meant sublingual. Can you get a sublingual NSAID OTC?
-
So... now you have to let us know when the scale moves again. Maybe when yours moves I'll dare to weight again!!!!! I'm too scared right now... it will absolutly crush me. Hang in there. Theres no way this cant work
-
OKAY its settled!!!!!! Next month i am taking ibuprophine!!!!!!
-
Ahhhhh.... so the toradol is a more benign form of NSAID??? Well it worked so I'm a beliver. :lol4:

stcyt replied to agives130's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well... you probably don't need one more person weighing in and saying the same thing but be assertive. Listen to your body and get it what it needs. IV fluids... something besides that crazy stomach medicine.... a pain reliever that won't hurt your sleeve... I hope your better soon stacey -
jacks home, after surgery
stcyt replied to jack mario425's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
YEA JacK!!!!!! It gets better every day!!!! -
I tried to post the links for you but I couldnt figure out how to make them active... anyway... there's a thread started by oregondaisy called "good article on weight loss stalls" She posted one and then below her swiftflow posted one. There is some info about glycogen storage etc in the second one that was very interesting. The scale has tremendous power over me. That number can make or break my day. I came home from the hospital and weighed myself everyday. I swore to myelf that the first day I didn't loose I would put the scale away because that marked the begining of the inevitable stall. I only lost 14 lbs before this started. So far I have been able to stay away. The scale takes four batteries and I have them hidden around my room. If I was weighing every day and saw those stalled numbers I think I would be miserable..... I would probably fall into my old behavior and feel so defeated that I would throw in the towel and start finding ways to "eat around" my sleeve as I raised my fists to the heavens. I guess what I'm saying is ....put your scale away and trust your sleeve. The equation is valid. Energy in - Energy out = lost weight. So.... I know i'm sounding a little preachy but i hope it helps.

good call. I hope I'm that reasonable when I'm tempted
