About how much loss equals a pant size?
stcyt replied to sam30204's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm shooting for an 8... I have never ever been an 8... Isn't it fun to fantasize about where we will be this time next year -
is something wrong with me?
stcyt replied to attitudefree's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Shifting our identity is no easy feat!!! It happens moving both ways on the scale. I know that when I was gaining weight I was quite large before it dawned on me that I was a fat chic now. My self image was still a of a thin person even though my clothing size and my reflection were clearly saying I was no longer thin. It takes time for our brain to catch up sometimes. -

I'm at 178 right now and in a loose 14 but a 12 is a little obscene. -

When I say a pant size I am meaning 16 or 14 or 12..... I don't count the inbetweens. So at 200 I was an 16 at 185 a 14 and at 170 a 12 (kinda tight but I could do it) -

I am 5'7'' and I have found that I go down a size at around 15 lbs. Now... that may change. If I weighed 140 and lost 15lbs it might be more than a size. Its the 15lbs from 200 to 185 and then 185 to 170. Its probably pretty consistant.... I've never gotten below 170 so hopefully we'll see. good luck stacey -
I was really swollen after surgery. The pants I wore to the hospital were TOO SMALL to wear home. My belly was hard and "pregnant" for about 10 days. I felt great... just swollen. I hope it gets better soon stacey

stcyt replied to ouroborous's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I haven't lost an ounce in 12 days. I know... I know.... Water weight, body in conservations mode, trying to adjust to the shock..... etc... etc.... but its still frustrating!!!!! We'll get there guys Stacey -
Driver.... how are you doing. You had it rough there for a bit too. Are you on soft foods yet? Are you feeling strong? Stacey

Calorie/fat/carb counting post op..
stcyt replied to susimar's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm stalled right now and its killing me!!! Its been 10 days since the scale has moved. I'm trying not to get freaked out about it but my inclination is to want to "go on a diet". The whole reason I had the surgery was because obsessive dieting was ruling my life. I really wanted to let go of all that. I would like to eat protien veggies fruit and complex carbs, in that order. After that I just want to trust the sleeve... let go of my obsessive need to diet. I'm sure others feel differently.... they just want to loose the weight and get it over with. That makes sense too, I guess it depends on factors like your reason for having surgery, what your particular mal adaptive thinking patterns are (if any), your BMI, the amount of cravings you have...... etc. Stacey -
Good luck Lisa.... let us know what happens

How is she now???? I'm so sorry to hear this happened.

For the ladies...TOM, Water Retention, hunger?
stcyt replied to goodlife's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'd ask your doctor what you can use... your still healing. I have crippling cramps and my doc gave me some codine and muscle relaxers so I didn't have to take NSAIDS. -
For the first two weeks I was convinced every little thing was a leak. It wasn't untill a couple of days ago that I let go of the fear.... its pretty normal to freak out from time to time... no one wants a leak.

Very small amounts of food-normal?
stcyt replied to MinOhio's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I agree... call your doc. By week two I was able to do more -
Not losing much - really freaked out about failing
stcyt replied to Genesis1's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I'm kinda freaked out too. I'm not really losing either but I think I am still at the point where I can write it off as a normal post op stall. Its so frustrating though. There's just no way this wont work.... we hardly eat a fraction of what we had before. I'm trying to increase my exercise but its hard not to get discouraged. I know this isn't a very helpful response.... but lyour not alone stacey -
I already told you my size but I just want to say "good for you" for going after what you want. I know it will be a little more time if you end up having to switch... but its worth it to get what you want. You have probably done more research on bougie size than your doctor. Hopefully he'll agree to the smaller size and you can still have your insurance approval. good luck stacey

Surgery Monday-Scared to death
stcyt replied to JillianMarie's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I went to Mexico by myself. I was supposed to have a friend with me but he had a death in his family right before. Honestly... I'm so glad he didn't come. I was in great hands the whole time and I didn't have to "entertain" any company. I didn't tell my mother or sisters either and I think that added to the nervousness. I had the feeling I was sneaking behind my mothers back. Even though I'm 44 it brought up all those scary little kids feelings like when you know your in trouble. Now that its over I'm glad they don't know. -
Unfourtunatly, this is a bit controversial..but thoughts on consuming Marijuana PsOp?
stcyt replied to pistolpete's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I say ask your doctor. Most are pretty knowledgabe and not super judgmental. I havent heard this topic discussed much so I don't have any answers. Interesting topic though... your probably not the only one that wants to know. good luck stacey
