The Inevitable "I'm Not Losing Fast Enough" Thread
stcyt replied to ouroborous's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
ARRRRGG day 18 without loosing an ounce (lost 13.2 lbs in 14 days after surgery). I have actually gained about 3/4 lb. I follow all th rules.... eat between500 and 800 cals... mostly protein. I'm really starting to get scared. When I do start loosing is it going to be 1lb a week..... I could have done that and kept my stomach!!!!!!!!! (not really, or I suppose I would have) GRRRRRRRR.... I know it will all work out but the people that I told I was getting the procedure done must be wondering if I'm "eating around" the sleeve. Its a little embarassing -
Okay.... This stall is KILLING me. Can I ask.... did you stall out in the first month after surgery and if so how long did it last?
-
I'm gonna try it. I'll o to GNC today. This is day 15 of my post op stall and I'm going crazy

About how much loss equals a pant size?
stcyt replied to sam30204's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Its amazing the variation in size given a persons weight. I guess it has a lot to do with where we store it. -
Unfourtunatly, this is a bit controversial..but thoughts on consuming Marijuana PsOp?

I'm really very curious about this. I am currently in the middle of the most frustrating stall. I have heard that keeping calories high occasionally helps with this but just people talking.... no research. Please keep us informed. I tried to up my calories one day to see if I could break the stall but I just couldn't get enough in my sleeve.
-
You are so right. I never could have lost 13 lbs in 4 weeks pre-sleeve. If I can loose 13 next month I will be doing great. Its the need for instant gratification that got me here in the first place!!!!! Thanks for the encouragement Stacey

If you were sleeved in Mexico, by who and how much?
stcyt replied to brianMD's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Dr Jose Rodriguez at INT transplant hospital in Tijuana. $6700.00. I was very happy with my care. -

Hello TinyTummy..... thanks for posting. I'm so sorry to hear about your ordeal. I can't imagine what you must have been through. I guess it was probably a blessing to be unconscious for a lot of it. I'm very glad to hear you seem to be on the mend. Please keep us posted!!!!! -
Against my better judgement I took an all natural metabolism booster this morning called fucothin. Its stimulant free and very mild... but still.... I had surgery to quit all this kinda #%$!. I really feel stupid for even complaining because I told myself that I was most likely going to hit a stall, and that I should be prepared.....it's really common, body adjusting to weight loss..... etc etc. Its weird how we can know something to be true logically but it just wont sink in :scared0:

Hey Katrina.... I'm 4 weeks out today. I lost 13lbs in the first 10 days and not an ounce since. I'm super frustrated too. Exercising, getting my Water, my protien, low carb count. I don't know...... I'm just trying to ride it out but I'm scared I'll never loose the weight. I know it will get better.... its just hard not to buy into the years of diet failure that are following us around. Probably not a helpful post.... but I figured I'd vent a bit I hope we get going soon!!!! Stacey

How soon were you able to exercise?
stcyt replied to Syry180's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was hiking mountain trails... maybe 3 miles by day 6. I had to wear an ab binder though because I was still pretty sore and swolen and the movement was painful. I was moving slow but it was nice to get out. I started doing light cardio around day 8. I would like to start with some weights but my post op instructions say nothing but walking and very light cardio until 6 weeks post op. Hope that helps with the planning. Oh.... and..... welcome to the board Stacey -

Constipation?
stcyt replied to shezaditz@bellsouth.net's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I went 12 days!!!! Yep, your read correctly. It finally took MOM to get things moving. Now I'm doing okay, evry couple of days as long as I take a stool softner. If you use a laxative its best not to use a stimulant right at first. MOM is a non-stimulant laxative. Does anyone know.... are stool softners habit froming like laxatives?
