stcyt replied to johan22's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Anna, I am still taking my ppi, but I plan to stop at 12 weeks. My understanding is we have to put up with a little rebound effect for about a week. It may be worth sticking it out. I don't know though because I haven't tried. When I do forget.... I get acid!!!!! Probably best to ask your doc. Stacey -
Anna, you contribute so much to this forum. I have learned so much from you and you are so kind in your delivery. I'm glad your here and.... WOW way to go on the weight loss, but more important.... way to go with the life changes. Stacey

Yea.... its all up hill from here

Intuitively.... it seems like we should get as much protein as we can from food. I am trying but its still hard. I still have days when liquids or mushies is about all I can do. I think short term the supplements are ok.... we just have to work toward real food.

I was able to sleep on my side on day 5. It was glorious. I think with walking its more important to do it often then a long time. You'll be fit as a fiddle before you know it. Hang in there, it gets better Stacey

I think we have had this discussion recently but I can't find it. Anyway....I'm curious how long all of your doctors said you have to wait to drink, and then what should you have? I know not beer because of the carbination. What about vodka and cranberry. I'm not a wine drinker. Do we get drunk real fast???? :ack2: Just wondering about everyones experience. Thanks Stacey

So... as those of you who have been subjected to my whining know.... I have been in a stall for over 2 weeks now and I'm going nuts!!!!! :frusty: I have been following all the rules and exercising etc..:nopity: Yesterday I decided to shake things up and ate about 1500 calories... it was hard.... lots of it in the form of high calorie Meal Replacements etc.... I'm down 1 1/2 lbs today! :hail: My fingers are crossed that this is the beginning of a real loosing streak for me. I really thought my weight would be up after so many calories. Wish me luck!!!!! :001_tongue: Stacey

I know your right.... I had the surgery for the same reason. I just want to let go of all this obssessing and crazy overthinking. This is a real test of my ability to "let go" the way I envisioned. I am setting a goal right now..... I will not weigh till my sleeveaversary on the 21st of June!!! These unhealthy ways of thinking are so programmed.... almost hardwired at this point. Thanks for your feedback guys Stacey

I'm checking in all day champ.... I can't wait to see how the test comes out.

Sorry cwalker.... I feel your pain. I have taken the batteries out of my scale and put them in my fancy new exfoliating tool. Trying to increase calories..... but jeese its hard. I never thought I would be one of those people who has to force themselves to eat.
-
Thanks guys.... I didn't want to waste all the money I have spend on vitamins I cant take so I have started mixing them with my daily smoothy (strawberries, soy milk, greek yougart) and they are going down a little better.

Oregondaisy... so good to hear. I really want to stop. I'm going to wait till completely healed (12 weeks I guess?) and give it a go. You had a bit of trouble at first right?
-
I was waiting for your post.... I knew you'd have the down low

True story. the nurse at my work has a 19 year old son who lives with her and her husband Bob. One night the 19 year old went out and wrecked the car while drinking. The nurse... my co-worker.... in telling the story explained that she had absolutly had it with this boy. She went down stairs and looked in his little apartment fridge and found a full bottle of tequilla. Here are her exact words to me... "I was so fed up. I have had just about enough of his irrisponsibility so I said 'Bob, Get the blender.' "

Hey Champ.... I was just thinking. Maybe start a thread here and at OH, a little shout out to Austin area sleevers. Maybe there are others in your area who have gone through something simmilar. It may be good to make a connection with someone in your area. Just a thought Stacey

Thanks guys..... Tiff... I am exercising but just light cardio. before surgery I could do about an hour of pretty heavy cardio.... now 30 minutes of light and I want to puke. I assume that means my body is in "conservation" mode and doesn't want to dip into its reservs. I just don't know how to get it to start burning again (I'm not cleared for anything heavier till 8 weeks)... I was thinking about just going straight Protein for 1 week... no carbs like the induction phase of atkins. The other side of my brain says let it go.... relax.... live your life. Oroborous... you are so right... I have been additcted to that damn scale since I was 12. I give it way too much power. I know logically that the number doesn't really mean much but I loose all rational thought when it comes to that evil little appliance. I swore to myself that after the surgery I was going to get rid of it.... but its my crack. Just like crack it was fun in the begining but somewhere everything went horribly wrong!!!! Thanks for the support guys... I just need to keep telling myself that even though it might take forever, at least it will stay off this time. thanks Stacey

My stomach did a little flip just reading about bloody marys. I like em spicey with extra horsh radish..... It doesn't sound very good anymore, I fear my sleeve would revolt. The vodka and cranberry was none to gentle either. I probably won't drink again for a log time. It's too bad white russians have about a billion calories. Al that cream sounds soothing
