Hey goodlife.... hows it going. I haven't posted in a while. Its good to see your still here.... and your tickers moving!!!!!!
-
congradulations sleeve sister. At first I thought I was going crazy... 3 mos.... I counted again and again but just coudn't make it work. I was going to be so mad if it took me 3 mos to loose 22lbs. You must be looking hot!!!!! Stacey
-
do you guys think its possible to get the sleeve and not loose weight. I don't mean drinking milk shakes etc... I mean making healthy choices and staying between 500 - 1000 calories (depending on the day). I don't know if I'm loosing or not cuz I quit weighing. If I'm loosing it can't be more than a pound or so a week. I remember my grandmother used to eat like a bird. There was no way she ate over 800 calories a day and she was probably 50 - 70 lbs overweight. I don't know.... I guess I'm just discouraged today.

I had surgery with Dr Rod and had a great experience. The hospital staff was great and I was perfectly fine without a travel buddy. Good luck Stacey -
2 days to go and quietly freaking out
stcyt replied to educationrulz's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You guys are gonna do great. I was so scared before surgery... I remember my last thought before going under was "this is my last chance to back out". I'm sooooo glad I did this. Post as soon as your able and let us all know what a great job of sipping and walking your doing. Stacey -
Hey guys.... check it out.... my ticker moved. Its not exactly break neck speed, but it moved!!!!! I must say. It was totaly worth not weighing for a month. It was hard at times... I just wanted to know. I was definately saner without the daily pressure. Now its "hide the scale" till 3 mos out. I read through all these posts today and it really helped my head. I know sometimes my thoughts get a little out of wack when it comes to weight loss. It helps alot to have people weigh in (opps, I really didn't mean the pun) with more reasonable comments and advice. thanks stacey

What surgery can i tell people i've had instead of telling them about the sleeve?
stcyt replied to jemmacahill's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I too told people that I had stomach surgery. Most people have good enough social skills and boundaries to not inquire further. I suppose they made their own assumptions after that.....ulcers... tumors.....VSG. -
Speak up those with leaks & infections!
stcyt replied to Can.sleeved's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
so... sorry guys... I'm really not trying to drag this out, but I'm wondering if the report of someones death was confirmed or was absolutly disconfirmed, and if so what was the source of the information. I apologieze if this has already been posted and I missed it. thanks -
Surgeon Choice: Aceves or Rodriguez?
stcyt replied to Keys Pirate's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You'll love dr rod. as far as the extra skin thing, i don't have any answers for you. I've lost about 15-18lbs (estimate because I put away my scale). So far no extra skin. I'm worried about my arms though. I've got my fingers crossed!!!! -
OK, I can't stand Isopure, any other ideas
stcyt replied to texaschick's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did unjury unflavored mixed with crystal light (to hide the flavor). I dont think you can buy unjury in stores though.... maybe you could have it overnighted -
Very Sick- Please Help!
stcyt replied to JillianMarie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm so glad your feeling better. Its really hard at first to figure out how much is too much. Many of us had this struggle in the beginning, I'm know I sure did. Its hard to get used to how little our bodies need now. Just take it a day at a time, and learn the lessons as they come. I was a compulsive eater too. I was pretty good most days but then I would go on binges. Its hard.... sometimes I still get the urge to shovel it in but I know I cant'. I have to find other ways to sooth myself. I'm learning bit by bit. Mostly I find if I'm nice to myself.... I don't need so much self soothing..... hot baths are nice too Hang in there.... we'll get the hang of this sleeve thing -

How do you get one of those tests???
-
ARGH!!!! I know you are so right. I told myself before I got sleeved that I would no longer obsesss.... the point of the surgery was to let go of all that. Sometimes I just slip into that old rotton thinking

I have always had a hard time with Vitamins. Pre surgery I could eat donuts topped with chicken fried steak and cover in chillie dogs, but I had to be really careful about vitamins or I would get nauseaus. I have tried Bariatric Advantage and Centrum chewable but both make me hurl. :puke4: Capsuls and pills.... all the same. any ideas Thanks Stacey

wow... me too. Its not deep pain but its not on the surface (skin) either. Its almost like a sore mucscle.... like I have been working out only the area under my left boob. Is that what you guys have?

Acid rebound and kicking ppi's
stcyt replied to stcyt's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had the same thing. I didn't eat much at all while I was off of PPI's, it just kind of hurt to do so. Unfortunately it got worse, not better and I had to go back on. My doc gave me pretty specific guidelines for doing the cold trukey thing. She said as soon as I got a sore throat I had to go back on. Hopefully you will get better soon... your body will figure out that it doesnt need all that acid. good luck -
Well, I imagine that you are already set on your surgeon, and your on the way to enacting the plan you designed for yourself. BUT something to keep in mind is that surgery in mexico is a flat fee. None of this running around getting nickle and dimed by every professional that walks within 30 feet of your room. I know its kinda late in the game to change plans... just a thought......

Day 1 - Should I stay another day?
stcyt replied to texaschick's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Like everybody says... its a question of insurance. But... if it will cover... staying would be a nice way to take care of yourself. I was in for two days and really love not having the pressure of having to drin because I knew my IV wouod keep me hydrated. I also loved loved loved the hospital bed. It was hard to day flat at first and my first night in a flat bed was a little restless. -
OMG I got a B12 shot yesterday am bout 3weeks post op
stcyt replied to bigjay's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've gotten b12 shots before (pre-op) and had the same experience. I felt GREAT for several weeks. The first week I couldn't even sleep I had so much energy (almost manic) I have talked to people who get b12 and don't feel anything. I think maybe some of us are just super sensitive... or super low to start with. I don't know but I'm glad you reminded me. I'm going to get one. -
Hey Daisy Of course I remember you... I'm glad to hear from you. I wanted to check in with everybody after but I lost my piece of paper with everyones e-mails. I'm glad your doing well. 27lbs is great!!!! I know I just have to hang in there. Its just that I have days when I want it NOW. Its funny.... in the past when I got discouraged it usually ended in a full on eating binge.... I cant do that any more and just that in itself is worth it. I hated those binges.... felt so out of control. I'm going to weight again on the 21st (our sleevaversary) and I'll see whats up then. People are starting to notice though. I just get scared some times. I have fought this weight my whole life and it sometimes seems impossible that something could actually work. good to hear from you take care Stacey

Yikes.... maybe we should have been more specific when we said we wanted to loose weight
