15 minutes strength in AM 45 minute walk on track PM 150/190 - OK I can do this.... wasn't so sure earlier in the week! -
I have 7 cc in a 14 cc band.... no problems with popcorn here either. It actually is a go to food for me when I am craving that salty snacky (ie chips)...

your scale of Drs?
monkeymama replied to Beachbunny's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I use the scale at one of my workplaces which is in a Dr. Office. I was using my home scale but have discovered that it is a sucky scale- at least for my purposes- it is in the ballpark but you can measure your self 30 seconds apart and come up with different numbers. (+/-.5-2lb)... Unfortunately the scale at my work was weighing me about 8 lbs higher so it appears that I haven't lost a pound recently on my ticker but I am letting it catch up. I don't use my surgeons because depending on who weighs you in some take off for clothes and some don't and its hard to keep track- although the number when I step on is usually consistent with my work scale. -

Please help! I'm Stalled!!

For me I keep the exercise simple at the gym. I basically use the treadmill or elliptical for 30-60 minutes depending on my time and stamina. There is a weight circuit set up which I do as well. When I first started using the gym I got a few sessions with a trainer and learned how to use everything. As far as getting exercise in I set a goal in minutes each week. When I make my goal I increase it by five minutes the next week. I sneak in fifteen minutes in the morning by TiVoing a PBS show that focus on stretching and toning different muscle groups- those 15 minutes add up over the week. Then if I can't get to the gym I walk at work or my sons football practice. I also have Wii Fit Plus and some videos that I use- the Biggest Loser ones are my favorite because for the most part they are exercises a big gal can actually do- not the crazy latin salsa dance stuff that has me falling on my face..... Anyhoo congrats on all that you have lost already! -

40 minutes on the track today (I walk during my son't football practice)... 90/190 -
What I found helpful was to use the protein bullets/shooters... not the best tasting things in the world but the ones I used (ProSlam 45 fruit punch from GNC) packed a lot of protein in a little amount that was easy to quickly drink- great for those precious moments in between patients when you have only a second to take care of yourself! People have mentioned making them taste better with some crystal light type powders...

monkeymama replied to ashmd2b's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yeah I imagine if the belly button was used that there may also be some tissue sloughing that is not really anything bad -
When dermabond falls off???
monkeymama replied to ashmd2b's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Did you have the regular 5 incision type surgery or the single through your belly button? I would call your surgeon and report it because drainage isn't normal and the yellow color could mean infection. -

April Bandsters - How are you doing?
monkeymama replied to BusyMom1961's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello April Folks! Ravyn hold out girl! Do you have a realize band? They take longer to get restriction- I have 6cc now and still could handle a fill. Try increasing you exercise by 10 minutes each week- To the other poster who lost 35 lbs... I was feeling bad about my 40ish but our views are tainted by seeing all the posters who have lost 50 or more- I bet there are more out there like us who dont post their loss cause they are worried it isnt enough. These past 2 months I have been bouncing around the same weight BUT I went down 2 pants sizes! YEE HAW- Anyhoo congrats to all of you who are showing the crazy huge numbers! -

Liquid Tylenol and Liquid Advil where do you buy it???
monkeymama replied to losethemess's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes brand name liquid Tylenol was recalled and probably wont be back until at least Christmas time. You have to buy the generic versions... They have it at drugstores and big box stores around me. -
Signs you need a fill? Advice please.....
monkeymama replied to Karlzmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think the goal is to be eating a sensible sized meal and then not being hungry for 4-5 hours after eating it.... -
Exercise Goals #4
monkeymama replied to monkeymama's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Back from vacation! How did everyone do this week? I slacked as far as formal exercise but did a lot of walking and swimming so I still feel pretty good. I got a small concussion on Thursday (I am super accident prone) so vigorous exercise is out for a week- but I can still do other stuff. Did 15 mins today stretching and arms... Goal for this upcoming week: 190 minutes -
Band seems tight about 3 weeks after fill
monkeymama replied to bibu1961's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Not exactly insight but I had my third fill about three weeks ago and I feel like everyday I don't know what I will get- some I am so tight I can only do liquids at first and others I can eat a lot more... -
Hmmm depends on the cramps I guess... drinking really cold can cause a cramp it also could just be tenderness in your belly still from the surgery and a little cramping from the movement as it digests?
-
I drove two days after as well.... I made sure that the pain meds had cleared my system and was just using liquid tylenol at that time

Carnation Instant Breakfast?
monkeymama replied to jamelyn1979's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sugar free CIB was on my list too- I added milk which adds 8 grams of protein. -
I was told to walk as much as possible during my recovery. At my post op 6 weeks I got the clearance for all types of exercise- including weights.

Yep totally normal- the anesthesia & pain meds really slow the GI tract- plus not much going in... soon enough (if you are like many others) you will be complaining about loose stools!!
