Heartburn and tightness all of a sudden!
trishfish posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ok need some advice here please.... I was banded 5/20/10 have lost 85 lbs to date (20 till goal!!!) Had my last fill on 11/8/10. I have 3.5cc's in my 10cc band. I have felt awesome up to today....eating less than a cup of food at a time and feeling satisfied for three to four hours. Ok that's my background...now on to my issue. This morning I woke up and had my normal 4oz of OJ and 6oz of thin oatmeal (i have this almost every mirning cuz I'm pretty snug in the morning) and about 15 minutes after eating I have horrible heartburn! So I have some milk (usually helps) and still had HB....so fastforward to dinner... Had HB aaalll day no matter what so for dinner I had thin soup. Nithing has tiuched the heartburn. MyQuestion is should I get an unfill or wait it out? Why would I get tight all of a sudden? Do any of you think it couldbe tightness because of my menstrul cycle (should start in like 5 days...) This Has just never happened so I thought I'd ask my friends on here. Thanks!!! Oh and nithing has gitten stuck or anything. -
I come to you for advice/suggestions ...

Have you had your thyroid or estrogen checked? Both of those will effect your energy. I have to get both mine checked every 4-6 weeks. If my thyroid is low oh man am I exhausted!!! When my est is low I cant sleep. Funny, but both have gotten way off since losing weight! I also think eating a few more calories in the early part of the day.... I too do the liquids for breakfast...or some thin oatmeal.....even pre band breakfast in the morning made me feel sick... Like my belly isn't ready or awake or something...haha -
I had surgery in december and had no problems. I babied the band for a few days afterward to ensure I had no swelling oranuthing. I did have to crush my vicodin....g-r-o-s-s!!!

Crock pot meals please!
trishfish replied to rhonda435's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I love lemon chicken! A whole chicken and just some 2 lemons and some orange zest. Put one cut lemon in the chicken cavity. Some chick stock and cook on low all day. also ill take chick breasts and a can or two of fav salsa and bake in there. I serve with some homemade WW tortilla chips and homemad guacamoli and some pinto beans with sauteed onions and cumin. Another good recipe is beef and veggie stew. The beef gets super tender cooking all day. Now Im going to go see what I can make for dinner tomorrow! -
Walk away the pounds dvd is a good one if you are just starting out. Also the biggest loser dvds are great. Lok on craigslist and amazon for used copies. Also check out your local library dvd section. I would recommend getting a 5, 8 & 10 lb hand weights too...2 lbs is not going to be enough very soon!

I have "lower" iron levels but they make me do sleepy! My nutritionist had said that calcium binds with iton and do my body is recognizing it as calcium....so like high iron cereals with milk are really in all actuality being absorbed as calcium. Out my inkjet with spinich and cheese is really not doing much in the way of iron. I take my iron supplement at night far away from any sort of calcium enriched foods. Hope you find a way that works for you!

Studies show that overweight individuals who are trying to lose right need to do at least an hour of cardio every day....not the recommended 30 minutes. Try upping your workouts....and also switch up your workouts....sometimes doing the same thing day in and day out will stall the loss. Also it has been recommended to me to do your weight lifting before your cargo workouts. Keep up the god work!

What size Are you in? I have spme pants im willing to sell. I would try jcpenny too7 go to their website.snd they always have coupons! Also old navy jeans are usually led than 30 buckd....and if you google."old navy coupon" there is one you can print out. Goodluck! -
I go three days a week! It is my favorite exercise to do....and man csn you burn some calories! no one watches what you are doing or not doing. I started out the biggest girl there and now I'm one of those."skinnys" haha it is seriosly like a big 'ol party! Elfie-i want to encourage you to try again....find a.different class with a different instructor. You can go on the zumba website and search for classes near you. it took me going to two different classes til I found an instructor that I liked...both tbe way she taught and her personality. And biggest advice.....don't stand.in the back! You may want to but you wil pick it up better standing in the middle or front. Whenever someone new comes to class I introduce myself then make them stand with me hehe Let us know if you go and how much you love it!

I have steak regularly. I find that marinating it giood I'd key. Also I cut it up into very small pieces (like earasser size) but it could just be one of those foods that don't work for you. As funny as this sounds i cannot eat yogurt...i get that stuck feeling every time!

Did you join a gym after banding?
trishfish replied to Southern Leo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would stay away from curves....it doesn't realy give you the workout options for the results you want. I had a gym pre-band and used it regularly. I never lost weight because it was my calories that were stopping me...anyways I love the gym...i have turned into a gym rat! Haha! Find One that offers classes do you do not get bored...and classes are a great way to work specific areas and be something fun! I live in indy and the gyms around here run from $20-$50 a month....try your local ymca...and if you are financially stifling the Y had scholarship programs (used their scholardhip program a few years back) I can't sress working ot and itd benefits enough! .have fun!!!! -

I once reminded my grandmother that I was old enough to decide if I liked her or if I wanted to see her....i will always love get but she said some things that hurt my feelings once and after I called her on it she "filters" her opinions alot better. I'm sorry that she says those things but good for.you for channeling that negativity into something so positive....keep on letting it fuel your fire! -
Dont laugh but when I'm stuck I do the popular yoga move Cobra...stretches everything out. Doesn't always work but at least I get a good stretch! hope you feel better!

Could you go to your pcp? That way he could just check to make sure its not infected...that's what I would do -

trishfish replied to blissa033's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Was it white or wheat pasta? I cannot tolerat white pasta because of it being coomed aldente...but wheat pasta needs cooked longer and so its easier to chew enough.....also its.alot better for you (in terms of pasta) -
YOU ARE GOING TO BE HUNGRY HUNGRY HUNGRY
trishfish replied to cheryl2586's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sorry I have to disagree with F2F.....i have ben banded about 8 months and I am almost never hungry....yes I have moments where I get those hubert feelings but I mostly have to remind myself to eat..... As for the newbies repaying the same questions don't you remember being so new at this and scared and wondering what's going on...we as humans trend to think the worse in situations due to the horror stories floating around....let them ask.their questions...they have just as much as a right to ask their questions as you did... I have found some of your posts to be a little "unkind" and I would never call you out on that do don't call out the new posters for tbeir honest questions......its not the over asked questions that herero me.away....i enjoy being sble to help others succeed...its the negative posters like you I get fed up with and keep me away. -

Rash all over my body
trishfish replied to sunshine755's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You should really go to a dermatologist....today! They wil be able to do a small scrapping of the rash itself and be able to give you an idea if its an allergic reaction to something our if its something completely different. Winter is so hard on the skin and I have seen a ton of rages pop up over the winter months. Keep us posted! (btw I am an esthetician and massage therapist and I work in a dermatologists office) -

At 42F though HUGE they were quite perky....now they look like deflated baloons I do need to tell you all about the must amazing brad....its a brand callef Essential Body Wear (EBW) and they make my girls so perky and upright! Though a little pricy the bras are completely worth it! I got some cheap bras from victoria secret to get me through tull I reach goal....i cant wait to get back into some GOOD bras that actually support me! -
