trishfish replied to StillNoRegrets83's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

Lots of questions / assistance needed
trishfish replied to jamelyn1979's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
shely shely.....drinking while eating will get you stuck. I have learned the hard way for sure. the first two fills I could drink and eat (yes, I know...bad! haha) but since my third fill, if I even take a sip it is slime city! so please don't learn the hard way...dont drink and eat  -

trishfish replied to feelfat's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I got the go ahead for baths at my two week post op  go for it -
just found this thread today...thanks everyone! i started the system two mondays ago...but i am not doing it every single day. I am obsessed with zumba so i do zumba on wed and friday...those days i only do ab ripper, no matter what the chart says i should do...and then i just pick up on what the chart says...so i will be doing it for probably like 120 days or soemthing...haha:tongue2: i am loving the system though...and i actually find it kind of fun! i did legs and shoulders yesterday and i can barely walk today (i am sure painting ALL day yesterday too didnt help the sore body either) I was banded 5/20 and I am just shy of 50 lbs lost! i am hoping the working out six days a week helps keep the weight coming off! i'll be checking back frequently :frown:

HELP What should I do
trishfish replied to keepinfaith's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would personally start with a week or two of liquids and protein shakes. you have been eating sugars and carbs and you'll need to cleanse your body of that so you can start anew...and it would help get you back on track. you could even do the 5 day pouch test (google that). go buy a cute journal just for food and food related thoughts aand feelings. when you see what you put into your mouth you will be able to hold yourself accountable better. and exercise is SO important....not just the physical importance, but the tozins that are reales while exercising just make you feel better all around. good luck! and be proud of yourself! you lost a lot of weight and now are making the choice to not settle for mediocre! *hugs!* -
yay!! go to a class...you will love it as fas as noticing a difference with the p90x....since its been only two weeks I have not noticed a physical difference in my body BUT I did two more pushups today during the video than I did last monday!! also, I was a LITTLE less sore...so I will have to push it even more. so far, I really like it :w00t:
-
xumba is so fun!! I have the videos and they're ok...but the claases are awesome. if you go to the zumba website you can find a class near you....also you can burn up to 700 calories (or more) in one class. its my favorite and I look forward to mon wed and fri mornings

I'm on week 2 of doing P90X and I love it! I am not following their diet plan though. it is hard butthe more you do the easier it truly gets. you can get it on the beach body website, but I got mine off of craigs list and only paid $50 (it was brand new) instead of $125. goodluck and enjoy! oh yeah, I also still do my zumba...so for three days a week I work out for 3wo plus hours
-
for me it was (and sometimes still is) a DAILY battle to make the right choices...i woke up and wanted pancakes or a cinnamon roll...i choose an egg instead...lunch I wanted a big juicy burger...i choose cold cuts and cheese....supper I wanted spaghetti....i choose a salad or grilled chicken....i have to physically talk myslef out of eating those items sometimes! every single day I tell myself I CAN make the right food choices....some days are harder than others. you aren't even one month post op....thats not a very long time for your menatl to kick in with the physical. you will get there! but for now pick yourself up by the bootstraps and focus on tomorrow! tomorrow is a brand new day :smile2:

Are you satisfied with "Average" weight loss???
trishfish replied to bambam31's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
my doctor told me I could/will lose my excess 100 lbs (100% excess weight loss) but its all determined on how much I wanted it! and man, do I want it! haha so my doc has his own rules and doesn't usually follow the norm.... -
hey amanda. No i did not cheat on my two week liquid diet...and it was hard...and i was really mean ...haha but i just want to share with you what my doctor shared with me...and it scared me to the point of NOT wanting to cheat... He said that during surger they stitch the stomach up over the band to help keep it in place for long term...but those stitches need about two weeks to really heal and for the stomach to be secured. He said that eating ANYTHING (even healthy foods) it causes your stomach to contract...the act of contracting can cause the stitches to come apart from the stomach...thus totally undoing everything that was done in surgery...and possibly lending a hand to a future slippage.... I just wanted to share that with you. It is hard...and some days you want to hate everyone...but the two weeks will pass and you will feel a lot better  good luck and keep on truckin!!

ok, so I am having a hard time counting my calories! I know there are places online to help you, but I just really struggle with this! I weigh and measure all my food, so I am consistently eating less than 8 oz (usually around 6)at one meal... but i'm just stumped. for example....we had steak the other day. I marinated it really well for 24 hours to ensure it was tender and moist....grilled it and weighed out my 3 oz of steak and 3oz of brocoli. went to see the calorie count and I was lost and a little confused....i want to know the total amt of calories i'm eating....i have been at 220 lbs for two weeks now! and have had two small fills....(starting wght 255 surgery 5/20) so i think I can officially say I am in bandster hell. all that being said....i know uping calories sometimes can make the wght start coming off...but I don't even know where I am at rigt now (i would guess around 800 calories) sorry to ramble on about my confusion...

I noticed that too...and realized it was the chewable multiviatamin I was taking....switched and the problem went away! this has proven itself to me again this week...ran out of new vitamin had to take old vitamin for a few days and bam...the runs were back (sorry if that is gross haha) you might want to try a new vitamin

hi. do you guys weigh your food? my doctor suggested it, but i am not sure i fully understand. take breakfast for example. I made turkey bacon and eggs. weighed two pieces of bacon and one egg and it was 2.5 oz I got some precooked chicken and wighed out a portion of 2 oz and it just seems like there is more than 2 oz. i'm just confused...and curious what you guys to do ensure you are eating no more than 6 possibly 8 oz.
-
well I guess I was right! I wasn't weighing my food and just guessing....and I was under-guessing! no wonder I was getting hungry! haha thankyou for your input
-
i noticed on your ticker at the bottom of your posts that you have your body fat percentage....how do you go about figuring that out. i am curious because i've always been heavier on the scal then most people who wear clothes the size i do...i have a really athletic build and tend to build muscle easily...so just curious. thanks

hi friends! ok, so i have a question. i have been following a low carb/low sugar diet since my may 20th banding. doing pretty well...i'm done 37 lbs...and loving it! so this last weekend (holiday weekend) we had three cookouts and went to a baseball game....i tried to make the best food choices available (even took band friendly/carb friendly dish to two of the the cookouts)..but i def over did it on the carbs and the sugar...the baseball game was the worse i think. I attempted to smuggle in a protein shake and protein bar but they were confiscated at the gate really? i was ticked...anyways fast forward to the fifth inning and i am so super hungry...went down to the concourse to see what was there for me to eat...and ended up with nachos and cheese:rolleyes: they were yummy (also drank about 60 ounces of water while at the game...EXPENSIVE! haha)...buuuut this morning, i am just curious as to how much i set myself back after a weekend of carbs and sugar.... woke up this morning, weighed myself...lost two lbs this last week...(the inches loss are exceeding the weight loss!) so did a shake this morning, and one for lunch...might do shakes a couple days.. just wanted everyones opions... hope you all had a great holiday weekend!! :)
-
hey guys. thanks for the replies. i have a lapband card, but i didnt even think about showing them! haha went to kings island yesterday, and believe it or not, i found a ton of stuff that was band friendly...and i was allowed to bring anything into the park, so had my trusty protein bars and a shake with me  brad, the low carb diet is really the only thing that works for me...i have pcos (which as a guy you prolly have no idea about...haha) and one of the HUGE drawback with having that is sugar and carbs make you gain...and gain a lot! so for me actually lose, i have to really watch the carbs in my diet. hope you all had a great weekend!

Hi paula. Glad to hear you're staying on track and working out! the loss has slowed down for me a bit too..but thats to be expected considering i work out five days a week (cardio and weight training)....i'm not getting too discouraged though, cuz it seems like my pants are bigger and bigger every week! haha good luck on your fill this week. I hope you get some restriction! The restriction from my last fill lasted about a week...so i am ready for my next fill (two more weeks! yaya!)
have a great fourth of july!!
