I also live north of Seattle one hour, near Stanwood. Am interested in the fill center in Arlington and also the support group. Could you tell me more? Had my surgery 10/06 and am down about 40#. Had mine from Dr. Aceves in Mexicali.

I'm so happy for you that you are considering lap band surgery. It is a big step, so take your time and get to feel comfortable with it. For me, banded 10/06/06 by Dr. Aceves in Mexico, it has been a wonderful experience. Very positive. I did if for my health, and I did it for ME! I have lost 35# now, and just feel great. I think your Mom will be supportive once she understands more about the procedure and what super results are possible. It really works well. It would be perfect if she could go to the seminar with you in Everett. It is so informative and gives you a lot of encouragement. My daughter-in-law had her surgery there and she has only good things to say about them. Feel free to contact me with any questions, anytime. And good luck. Like others say, "this is the BEST thing I've ever done for myself".

I had my surgery done by Dr. Aceves on 10/06 in Mexicali, Mexico, just south of El Centro, California. Everything went just fine and I would recommend him to anyone. The hospital was new and very nice. I felt I was in good hands. Good luck and God Bless!

chronic constipation
lastoneinthelak replied to sprintman's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Glad to know this subject has been addressed. I am having the same problems, after beginning on more solid foods. Will try the apple juice and Activa regimin first, also am going to try adding fiber capsules. -
I was banded on 10/06. All the incisions are healing fine, with the exception of the port one. It continues to leak, which the Dr. says is OK. It doesn't seem to be infected, but it is a fairly large opening at this point. I'm worried about it healing properly, like without leaving a pock or something. Anyone else had this sort of problem? The area is getting very sensitive to adhesives, too. I'm keeping it covered and clean all the time.:straight

Port Incision Not Closing Up
lastoneinthelak replied to lastoneinthelak's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thanks for all the good advice. I am watching it very carefully but haven't decided to go in to the Dr. yet. I did get some butterfly bandages today and will try them. It seems a bit better today. I am also keeping it covered with gauze and have switched to paper tape for the problem with tape rash. -
Hello everyone....I got banded on 10/06/06. Am down 25# so far and feeling great. Have a bit of trouble with the port incision...supposedly normal. Am on liquids and yoghurt and soft fruit now. Was a relief to get off total liquids. No problems with hunger, though. Am TOTALLY happy to have had the surgery and be feeling so good.

Hello Bigmons23! I also had surgery from Dr. Aceves, banded on 10/06/06. I think we might have crossed paths in the hospital parking lot on that day as you were leaving! Also agree that the facility and Dr. was first class. Am doing really well with the exception of the port incision. Quite a bit of leakage, so hasn't healed well. Am calling Dr. this morning. I am from Stanwood, Washington. So happy to hear about the support group in Arlington and the Fill center at Arlington Pharmacy---never dreamed it was there!
