EUREKA! I've found it! I think...maybe?
reverie replied to OneYearLater's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
See how you feel with this fill. Give yourself a week or so and see how long you stay satisfied. This reminds me of another girl on another forum who said she got "greedy" with her fills and ended up having to have not only an unfill, but a slip that led to her needing a whole new band. Now! I'm not saying that you'll even experience that, but give yourself time and see how it goes. It does go to show that sometimes people take their fills a little bit too far. If you think an extra .2 or .5cc may help, go for it, but only after you've given this fill a chance. Good luck and here's to hoping you've reached your spot! -

Tight in the morning.
reverie replied to Linda Fehlen's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Try a thin protein shake or warm tea/coffee. A warm drink can help loosen up your band a bit. -

Nausea from vitamins
reverie replied to gracierose's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Be sure you are taking your vitamins after you've eaten! I take Centrum Chewables and have never had an issue. -
I started off with a pretty high BMI and was never turned away from Lapband. The point is, all WLS require you to change your eating and exercising habits. As for DS, it is similar to gastric bypass, and to me it is a bit odd that your surgeon would mention DS out of all of the other WLS done today. DS is by far the rarest surgery for weight loss. In any case, you lose quicker with DS, but then there is the whole malabsorption to deal with. In the end, all WLS work if you work with them. Maybe read up on DS and see if it is a surgery you'd be willing to live with.

44 lbs down and now I can feel my port ..
reverie replied to hotsexyrunnerchick's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm pretty close to goal and I can feel my port, but I have been able to all along though now it is more prominent and I don't have to feel around for it. My surgeon automatically put a low profile port in, so no, it won't poke out like the normal ones once I am at my goal weight. -
for women only a question????
reverie replied to purple3797's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Rarely do people get catheters during Lapband surgery..I've only heard of a few people who have. Either way, it's never a problem. Good luck with your surgery! Hoping for a quick recovery. -
New to the site. Looking for some answers.
reverie replied to HungryMel's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
1. As long as you meet your insurance's requirements, you are usually okay. 2. No, never smoked, and I wouldn't advise doing so. If you're getting this surgery to get healthy, you should probably kick that habit as well. Smoking can lead to a lot of complications during and after surgery. My surgeon will not operate on a smoker; it's too risky. 3. Some doctors can go in through the belly button to do the surgery. 4. That's about right I took off 2 weeks because I had the time, but could have gone back sooner. -
So here is a question, are you rewarding yourself at your goals?
reverie replied to Cangel76's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I said at 150lbs I would let myself have a Reese's Cup. Not the most healthy reward..but, I've been craving one for awhile now. When I'm at goal I'll do P90X, see what toning I can do, then my last reward will definitely be plastic surgery. -
To the right and up from my bellybutton, though it has shifted since surgery.

What time do you have your last "meal"??
reverie replied to topazz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I try to eat no later than 7:30PM. 8:00PM if it's the weekend and I know I'll be up late. I exercise before I eat dinner. I give myself 3 hours from my last meal until I go to sleep. -
At least you realize that you need to change..now do it. You're obviously not happy with your weightloss thus far. Somehow push yourself to go exercise, or start off small by taking a walk; anything to get you moving. Get rid of the candy and the junk food. Ask your husband for help! He is your support. Maybe he can give you the push you need.

Does anyone ever NOT get a fill?
reverie replied to BostonPA's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's possible! I've lost almost 85lbs since May without a fill. -
Maybe you're a bit swollen from your fill..but I'd go back to the dr. Reflux is never good sign.

Exercise ideas to prevent flabby arms? Legs?
reverie replied to brew44's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Do weightlifting and run. Other than that you can only help stretched skin so much. -
Same here! Though I'll be switching to normal swallow Vitamins soon.

So for the past few months my weightloss has been fine. Usually 2-3lbs a week, sometimes 4lbs, but not frequently. I've tried to be reeeally patient with myself, and I know plateaus do happen, but the scale hasn't moved for a month, and I have no idea what else to do! I've upped my calories by 200+. I'm getting 100g+ of protein a day. No more than 50 carbs (used to be 30 but I couldn't eat 200 more calories without bumping my carbs). I've upped my exercise (doing P90M, the one before P90X). I don't graze. I don't eat unhealthy things at all yet the scale isn't going anywhere! I'm stuck at 162lbs. People keep saying maybe that is where my body wants to be..but weighing 162lbs and only being 5'3, I'm still considered to be overweight by a good 20-30lbs. I'm looking to hit 120lbs. But that really seems unreachable right now! So, does anyone have any ideas? I'm eating about 1200 calories a day, 5 meals a day. I workout everyday. I was considering doing liquids but that isn't always wisest. Any ideas..from anyone? I'll consider anything.

Need suggestions. I'm stuck.
reverie replied to reverie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you guys :smile2: You're all so helpful. I promised myself to stay off of the scale until Thanksgiving. Here's to hoping it moves during that time! -
Need suggestions. I'm stuck.
reverie replied to reverie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have yes. I'm almost fitting size 10 jeans that I couldn't pull over my thighs (lol) a few weeks ago. I guess I am losing inches but it's bothersome to not see the scale move in almost a month. -
I am in ONDERLAND!!!!!
