  1. How much protein are you eating each meal? Aim for at least 20g a meal. I eat every 3-4 hours. I usually eat on schedule to keep my metabolism going. If I don't eat on schedule my stomach usually doesn't growl for 4 hours. I try to focus on my protein.
  2. I usually track what I eat each day online. There's a lot of websites you can use. (I used myfitnesspal) which tells me calories, carbs, sodium, protein, sugar, fats, and others. I've tracked probably since I started eating solids after surgery. I don't really switch it up. I keep my calories under 1200, my carbs under 50, my fats under 50, and my sugars I rarely worry about. Nowadays I don't really track anymore. I slowed down last week so I haven't been counting anything using a website; I try to do it in my head as I don't have any want or need to track what I eat for the rest of my life unless I get off track and need to. I was successful last week, 2lb loss, and I'm hoping to continue that this week and on.
  3. It will go away. Mine didn't last that long and Gas-X strips were enough to make me feel a bit better. Keep walking and moving when you can. Deep breathing may help a bit.
  4. It can take a few fills to feel restriction. Do you have another appointment set up for a fill? What are you eating? Are you getting at least 60-70g of Protein a day? Are you exercising? Until you have restriction it's all on you. Be aware of what you're consuming, drink your Water, exercise, and you should be okay.
  5. I'd say you're overeating or eating too fast. I've never had this feeling nor can I say my full feels that way. I feel satisfied; full is when I eat too much.
  6. Definitely getting PS. I do plan to do a lot of weight-lifting and programs like P90X (which I start in 4 weeks ) to see if it helps any. I know building muscle tone can work wonders, so we will see. In the end I know I'll need PS but I'm giving myself more time to save up and be as healthy as possible.

    At A Standstill

I'd definitely say the sodium. Canned broth and canned tomato juice/sauce/soup are extremely high in sodium. Drink more water and stay off the scale for awhile. Going on it everyday really will bring you down, and not in the way you're looking to see. Try to stick to one day a week.
  8. I wouldn't eat it. Not only is it pasta..it's canned and probably full of sodium, not the healthiest option. Maybe try ricotta cheese, pasta sauce, and some cheese baked. Much healthier.

    Dry skin!!!!

Same here. I think a combination of winter + weight loss is causing it, but who knows. Try to find a good moisturizing lotion and use it after you shower before drying off.
  10. I am sort of on the line here. The fact is that this is a support site and that new bandsters sign up each day to ask questions. Since all surgeons who perform the surgery aren't the same, it's safe to say that some of us were given more information than others; thus you'll find people asking the same things over and over. Yes it can be annoying and repetitive, but think back to when you were newly banded and the questions you had. At the same time I do look at some of the posts and wonder just how much some people researched/were told about the band. But again, it's a support site and all of us come here for that and nothing more. If you're tired of the mundane posts maybe stay away from this particular section of the site. Some of the other parts seem to be posts not geared towards the things you mentioned. P.S. I'm rarely hungry and I eat what I want; it's all about moderation and calories in/out. I don't consider myself to be dieting. Eating normally and not binging on food every chance I get? Absolutely.

    Head Hunger or Real Hunger

Usually every 3-4 hours is when my tummy growls and I eat; that to me is real hunger and my body saying "hello, feed me." How much are you eating in a meal generally? How often do you eat?

    nothing new.....

Have you taken your measurements? Pictures? If not, I'd suggest doing that. Measure yourself and do so again in a month. Take pictures and compare what you look like. Even if the scale isn't moving down, the fact is that it's not moving up, and that is good news! You're doing things right, so keep on going. The scale isn't our only way to measure success. A 23lb loss is great and it's wise that you're hesitant on your fills. So many people aren't and they end up in trouble in the long run. Keep your head up! The scale will move in time.
  13. I'm sure you'll be fine, as long as you aren't feeling any pain. Sorry to hear about the tire, congrats on being banded!

    SLOW SLOW Weight loss

Maybe make time to track what you're eating each day. Are you eating healthy? Exercise is important too. I workout for an hour, each day. Do you do a lot of cardio? Weight-lifting?

    SLOW SLOW Weight loss

Only 15lbs? You had surgery 3 weeks ago. The average loss per week is 1-2lbs. You're well ahead of the curve. I too would get frustrated and mad when the scale didn't move as quick as I wanted. The fact is that we didn't put the weight on overnight and we won't lose it in that amount of time either. At week 3 you're still healing. Give yourself some time, stay off the scale, and stick to the rules and you'll see the results you want.

    SLOW SLOW Weight loss

When were you banded? How much have you lost? What are you eating? Are you getting a lot of Protein in? Do you weigh/measure your food? Are you exercising? Do you drink your Water? We can't help you without knowing at least some of that. Give us some details maybe we can pinpoint what may be slowing down your loss.
  17. Agree 100%. Definitely invest in some papaya chewables. Tasty and they do help!
  18. No problem! Fingers crossed you don't get sick too. If you're taking Vitamins you have a good chance of being okay. I'm known to get all sorts of bugs throughout the year (pre-band) and since I've been banded I haven't been sick once.
  19. Ask your surgeon for anti-nausea/vomiting medicine. Mine gave me some to keep around once I had surgery
  20. Mine varies from day to day but usually goes something like this: Early morning snack: 1/2 cup fruit or a low carb Protein bar (Atkins have become my favorites) Breakfast: eggs whites, turkey sausage, turkey bacon, sometimes a little fruit Lunch: 4oz of dense protein (chicken, turkey, or fish) with some sort of vegetable (1/4 cup) Snack: Anything really. Usually fruit or a low carb/low fat crepe with fruit Dinner: Chicken with a salad. I stick around 900-1000 calories a day. No more than 40 carbs and no more than 50g of fat. I don't cook much either but I've learned the joy of cooking in bulk and portioning out/freezing my meals.
  21. Common and no real concern for worry I think. It may be your port that you're feeling or you may have developed a seroma. Your port incision will take the longest to heal and will be uncomfortable for weeks to come. Let it heal. If the bump you feel is still there, just have your surgeon look at it when you see him/her next.
  22. Yes PB = productive. It's productive because it usually happens after taking too big of a bite and in the end the food usually comes back up because it isn't able to pass through the band.

    Rash all over my body

If it's a rash from an allergic reaction she won't have many if any scars at all.
  24. Most people who are too tight experience a lot of PBing and sometimes acid reflux at night. Since you've lost 65lbs, it may be that your band adjusted a little. I would talk to your surgeon and ask for some advice. Something as small as a .2-.5cc unfill can change the world.
