    question

    Very normal.
  2. Only 7lbs? That's 7lbs lost. If there's any advice I can give you, it's to completely rid of the word "only" when speaking of weight loss. Also, understand, I mean REALLY understand that no one here loses the same. Just as you lost 7lbs, there may be another bandster lost less. Learn to Celebrate every. single. pound, really. Do not compare your journey/loss to anyone else here. It will only frustrate you and cause you to become discouraged. Also, you're 11 days postop. Your body needs 6 weeks to heal. Weightloss, at this time, is not, and shouldn't be your biggest focus. Congrats, you've lost weight, but please remember that your body needs to heal, and healing requires calories. Stay off the scale. So yes, I'd say your goals right now are maybe not unrealistic, but not the wisest. Good luck!

    Any Non Scale Victories?

Wearing size 2s! Was asked if I had a "heavy" sister who worked in another building (I don't, but I'm used to being the heavy one!) Doing 30-50 GUY push ups at once. Seeing tone in my abs. Having a friend say he could wrap his arms around my twice if he tried. LOL!
  5. Counseling would be best for you I think.

    Pain around Port area

Port site can be painful for a few weeks; you just had something sewn to your abdominal muscle. Use a heating pad if you can.

    Honesty

I've told a few; most don't know. I don't tell them I'm on a diet though, because I'm not. I eat like a normal person, just less and I exercise. Normal, IMO.

    Banded yesterday Aprill 5th

    Congrats; happy healing.
  9. I eat 1700 nowadays but started off eating 800-1000. There is no ONE answer; there is no ONE diet for anyone here. You need to test the waters, play with your calories, and find what works for you.

    Help?

You're probably still a little swollen; but that restriction may stick. Mine did, so I never needed/won't ever get a fill.

    Progress Pictures

I took one pre-op; haven't cared to look at it, don't plan to. I still see myself as that person anyways LOL.
  13. Mmm 150g of protein a day Short answer, yes, protein is helpful/necessary in many ways, but do not neglect other macronutrients, such as fat, either
  14. A few hours. Left the same day.

    What the Heck???

Feel free to PM me. I can shoot you some recipe websites to try out. Don't want to hijack this thread.

    What the Heck???

I rarely eat out; I like making my food at home and if I do eat out it is generally at a restaurant where I am able to look up the nutritional information. IF I did have to track something like that, I'd do a general search of the meal I ate. ie. I'd Google "beef and broccoli nutritional information" usually things pop up. CalorieKing and Livestrong are two websites that come to mind. Yes they will be different but if you look at a few sites you'll get a general amount of *how* many calories/carbs/fats etc. was in what you just ate.

    What the Heck???

Those eating 600-800 can lose weight by eating so little because they have a lot of weight to lose. How do I know? Experience. I started off eating 600-800 calories and lost plenty. However, you do stall/plateau, and when I did I upped my calories. The more weight you have to lose, the higher your calorie deficit can/will be. With 11lbs or so left to lose, I am now eating 1700 calories, and losing once again. Calories are up because I do not have as much excess fat anymore. It's all a game of testing the waters, really.

    What the Heck???

Not true. It IS all about calories in vs. calories out. When you eat below the number of calories you need to maintain your weight along with exercise, you WILL lose. Just because you calculated what you "should" have lost doesn't mean that is what you "will" lose. Our bodies are not textbooks and there is no saying how much you will lose. The fact is the scale went down; maybe not as much as you wanted/thought, but it did go down. Also, all of the calorie tracking websites are generally wrong; I wouldn't advise following them. It's all about playing with your calories. I started with 800 calories at the beginning of my journey and today I am eating 1700+ calories a day. I slowly upped from 1200 calories, adding 100 a week, to see where I needed to be to lose weight. Low and behold last week the scale was down .8lbs. Great loss? Nope. But a loss? Surely; and it puts me one step closer to 120.
  20. Normal. Any reason you're crushing your pills? As long as they aren't huge they will go down fine. If worse comes to worse call your doctor and ask for liquid form pain meds. Getting in and out of bed, sitting down, and moving in general will hurt, especially the first day post-op. It gets better about a week out. For now try to take your pain meds BEFORE you're in pain. If you have plans to get up and move around, take your pain meds a little bit before you do. This way you'll have the meds in you and ready to kick in. Bleeding is normal and as long as it isn't continuous I think you'll be okay. Rest and try to relax as much as possible. If you can have someone help you get in and out of bed and to move around. Good luck and hope you feel better soon.

    Week 3 and stopped losing

The first 6 weeks are about healing. You should not be on the scale and shouldn't be half-worried about weight loss right now. While we do want to continue to lose, keep in mind that your body just underwent surgery, which is invasive and a complete shock to the body. It's going to need time to heal and to heal your body needs calories. Right now the last thing your body wants or should be doing is releasing fat. The first 2 weeks after surgery you probably lost Water weight from the fluids given to you during surgery. My advice is to stay off the scale, focus on getting your Protein in, and focus on healing. I know it'll be hard as I struggled with the same thing but put the scale away for a little. Throughout your entire journey your weight will go up and down, some weeks it won't move at all. Weight loss is never linear nor constant. Good luck!
  22. 113lbs. Per the average weight loss with the band you are doing just fine. Keep pushing along and you're sure to see more success. Is your knee that injured that walking is off limits? If not, walk! Not all exercise has to be strenuous. Good luck and you're doing great!

    Protein Shakes

Syntha 6 is good, but keep in mind it is truly meant for those weightlifting/doing strenuous exercise as it is not just whey protein, it contains casein and isolate (I believe) as well. It tastes delicious but I wouldn't recommend it as an everyday shake for pleasure.
