  1. Correct. Most people who slip are at a disadvantage when having their bands repositioned or replaced altogether as another slip is likely to occur. Slips are usually the result of excessive PBing due to having an overly tight band. I wouldn't worry too much. Take it day by day; no need to worry yourself before you're even banded.
  2. Hope everything goes well; did you have a tight band before this happened?
  3. Liquid diets don't result in true fat loss; if anything you will experience a sharp drop because of glycogen depletion, otherwise, you won't be losing true fat. I'd suggest starting to count calories as opposed to a liquid diet. Just my 2 cents.
  4. Can't spot reduce fat sadly. You have 78lbs more to go so I'd say be patient. My legs were the last to go but theyre toning/losing fat quite nicely now (thanks Plyometrics!) Maybe do some lunges, weighted squats, jump squats, and wall squats, but even then you're just building muscle under fat, so your legs may not appear to be smaller. Be patient

Confused but want to lose weight!

Too tight. You need an unfill or you're gonna do some damage to your esophagus.
  7. It depends on your restriction level. I've eaten it a few times and been fine.

  8. Nothing wrong with white rice either..

  9. What are you guys eating today? Snack: Atkins bar + strawberries Breakfast: Oat bran, eggs, turkey bacon Snack: Lemon creme pie Protein pudding with Kix (yum!) Lunch: Spaghetti squash with spinach, chicken, and alfredo sauce Snack: Protein bread + dark choco Peanut Butter Dinner: Tilapia, rice, and broccoli
  10. PB is not as bad as puking; its just the food comes back up with a very thick spit substance along with it. And yes, I've exercised since day one. Doing P90X now.

    My shoes are falling off!

Yep. Back to wearing 8s though some 8.5s fit.
  12. It's been worth it for me and I can't really say I've had a bad day with the band. Yes I've gotten stuck and PB'd but it's all part of the learning curve. I never imagined losing so quickly, let alone 115lbs in less than a year. There are complications and risks with all types of surgeries and it's luck of the draw really. Not everyone experiences the bad side of surgery. The risks with WLS are always there but are decreased greatly if you follow the rules and have a good bariatric surgeon to work with. In terms of the band, to me, this means not having a tight band, going in for routine visits, and getting unfills when you are too tight. Some people neglect these rules and often end up with slippage and/or erosion.

    Adding Fiber

Nope but fiber is good to have; not sure it keeps hunger away though.

You need to go to your doctor for an unfill and an upper GI. You may have slipped your band.

    Daily menu

Lord I remember those days; I haven't touched soup since LOL. Nor pudding.
  16. Mine ranges anywhere from .2lbs-6lbs a week. Nowadays I am losing much less each week, but that's to be expected as I only have 6lbs left to lose. You will often lose quicker in the beginning and weight loss will slow as you have less to lose.
  17. Sorry to hear you're having issues. Maybe the combination of bread + a compact meat isn't most ideal. Hope things get better.
  18. Nope. My surgeon made it clear that he will not unfill someone for a special occasion because then patients come back in complaining of gaining weight and not reaching the restriction they had before. Why not just eat the foods you like but in smaller portions?

    Unfill same as no band?

Thanks; wouldn't call it luck though. Willpower and working my ass off? Yep.
  20. If he doesn't give you an unfill then you need to find another doctor. Excessive PBing and vomitting can ruin your esphagus; really nothing to play around with. Get an unfill ASAP and give yourself time to rest. You may also want to ask for an upper GI to make sure your band is still in its proper place.
  21. Did you get a full unfill? If not, request one. I bet your stoma and pouch could use some time to heal. Also, are you taking small bites and really chewing? It makes a difference though I will admit eating slower and taking smaller bites has been the hardest learning curve for me.

    Where'd it go?

    Congrats! Great NSV.

    How big are your bites?

I wish I knew. I've been taking way too big of bites/not chewing because I'm in such a rush. @ getting stuck without a fill. Can only imagine what it's like with one.
