Helloooooooooooo from Cincinnati!!
FullofGRACE replied to Endora's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I think, but am not positive, so I wanted to share this. I'm in Dayton Ohio I had scheduled with the Cinci Weight Loss Center too in Union Center. Once I started reading testimonials on the website I noticed all the testimonials were from Washington. So I called back and asked and a new guy would be doing my surgery not the guy who has done most for this program. Do you know how many surgeries this guy has done. In this particular procedure, I understand that experience is essential to a successful outcome...most of the mortalities from the surgery is linked to surgeons who have low numbers. I am having Dr. Trace Curry www.thebanddoctor.com do mine and he has done the most of these east of the Misssisippi...just thought for such a big thing you might want to check him out as well as he is in your area. -
With surgery coming up this month....I get more and more anxious when people post and post then have surgery and don't come back...does this freak anyone else out?

I am of the belief after reading several reports and a recent message from Dr. Simpson out in AZ that the latest study shows mortality of this procedure at 3 an 16,000 he said that's up and coming in the mag Bariatric Today but he did say all deaths were from surgeons who had done less than 20 So when I found my doc The same as posted above www.thebanddoctor.com he had done 100's. If I'm keeping it real, I'd never go to someone who has done less than a few hundred. -
I'm with you...my family said that for many years and have finally come around and support me. My mother who is six foot and a sweet hundred and forty pounds has always said can't you just pick right? Now she knows my dilemma and supports me 100 percent. YOU DO WHAT IS RIGHT FOR YOU! Regarding not hearing from your doctor I'm going to say this as nice as I can...I wouldn't wait any longer I'd get on the phone and stay on the phone til somebody told me what the hell was going on!

Thanks gang...just nervous I guess...

I've read this somewhere here before and it was written very well, but it was kinda buried in a thread so I do want to repeat it. My physician, and the other person who posted this had said their nurse told them. Gas X will not eliminate gas pain you are having after surgery. It is strictly not possible. The gas you are feeling is the pain of having the air put into your body for the surgery. The only way to eliminate the air is to move around and get it absorbed in to the tissue....which apparently happens faster if you are up moving about. Just thought I'd share because I do hear so much about taking the Gas X after surgery...it ain't cheap and apparently your wasting your money.

2 Weeks Of Liquid How Did U Survive?
FullofGRACE replied to FullofGRACE's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Day 3 down....hunger is less and no headache tonight...first time...yippeee! I am on Medifast four envelopes a day plus crystal light sf jello and popsicles sugar free. Thing is you feel like ur gonna float...I have so much water wiggling around it's crazy. I'm still slated for November 10th and getting more scared by the day. A woman did just die from banding surgery in Kentucky and she's exactly my age so that gives me some fear that I hadn't had prior to this. Trying to hang on and find the courage. -
Growing worried about Banster Boy...surgery was on 10/25...anyone know where he was going?

2 Weeks Of Liquid How Did U Survive?
FullofGRACE replied to FullofGRACE's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wonder Gayle if these are clear liquids and allowed in my first two weeks...I need to find out..I'm starving...but worse than that I can't shake the headache. -
Well as you can see there are plenty of people here who been there and back. The reality is the likeliehood of something happening is like lightening. You'll be fine..just be smart!

I've cried every day since I made the decision...I think it is normal. This is a huge change it represents so many things. A life that will be changed forever. I cried for an hour this morning when my son and husband left town to attend the Ohio State football game...I would like to have gone but I'm in the two week window before my surgery and didn't want to get sick. I cry because I'm afraid. I have to keep looking at the list of things I want to be able to do after the surgery to keep me in the go mode. So, yes I think crying is our normal way of reacting to this...some people are cryers and some aren't...I'm with you!

I mean to have ur surgery? I know lots of folks go over the border...but I'm with you I'd never do that for surgery.

FullofGRACE replied to cariocagirll's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi...lots of us November bandsters. Stay in touch we'll all get each other through, -
Good luck with your banding...see you on the other side. I'm on the 10th of next month and I'm scared as hell, but I realize I'm just existing now not living...I wanna live again! Also, I'm finding the before and after pictures extremely motivational.

I wish you the best of luck with your choices. I would encourage you to address a threat to Dr. Curry who is frequently on here and perhaps could give you some ideas, suggestions on this forum. Be well.
-
Your the boss...so folks this idea is mute. Thanks for those who responded and wished this would be done. For those of you who would like a prayer in your time of need feel free to email me. I'll pray for you Alexandra. And, thanks for your attention to our matter.

Alexandra, I'm adverse to exercising and it's a separate forum. Hypothetically, everything is exclusionary e.g. some people don't read the complications, but the title gives us the option. There's no consistent place and it's very inconvenient as such. It's a shame because I think a lot of people would like to do this...perhaps you could title a forum...IMMEDIATE SUPPORT FOR UPCOMING SURGERIES? something of that nature... that's no exclusionary or is it???

Have any of you heard from Banster Boy...think he went in a few days ago??
