I don't really have a story yet. I have been struggling with my weight for my whole life that I can remember. I started Weight Watchers (again) in September and I lost 25 pounds. Then the holidays came and the weight started creeping up again. So I knew in no time the weight that I had lost would be back with some new friends. In February we got new insurance that is awesome and it covers the lapband. I thought, what the heck...I'll just see if I can qualify. I had wanted to get the gastric bypass but my husband was adament that I would not be getting that surgery. I showed him the lap band and he finally agreed to allow me to do the surgery. He does not run my life but something this serious he does have a say, just like I would have a say if he were to want to do something drastic. I went to the lap band clinic, they filed all the insurance paperwork and next thing I know I am having surgery on April 1st. Don't know if I like the date so much. My father passed away on that date so I am hoping he will be watching out for me during the surgery. That's about it. I am in the Pre-op protein shake phase and I am HUNGRY!  I am looking forward to getting the surgery but I am also kinda mourning the loss of my good buddy food. You don't get as big as I am without having a relationship with food and I do feel a little sadness that I can't eat the way I used to.
