So I went to the doctor, they took out my fill to see how much was actually in my band. Had it marked down that I should of had 4.2cc and they pulled out 4.0 cc's so not too far off. She put it all back in, told me to do liquids today and tomorrow and then soft stuff for a few days until normal again. This is it.....I'm going to be careful again, need to do what Sula's saying and get in my water and going to start walking on Wednesday (going to a feild trip with my twins tomorrow and a meeting tomorrow night won't allow much time at all for walking!!). Hopefully this will give me a kick start and will see some results soon.

Thanks Cindi !!!! It is really hard when you watch what you eat and there aren't any results. That was my preband story all the time, since the band I haven't had any real trouble losing weight, until now! It is nice to know that I'm not the only one. Haven't been checking the LBT sights as much as I should because I didn't have any new loss to report, guess I should have known it's support, loss or no loss! Hopefully things will get better after a fill on Monday. I know I need to exercise, that's a given, just too darn cold out right now. THanks for all your help!

I know it's different for everyone but I need help!! I haven't lost anything since Thanksgiving, have gained and lost the same 5-7 pounds. Exercise is almost non-existant, eat way more sweets than I should, but calorie count is usually around 1200 (when I'm watching it!!). Problem is, whether I'm watching it or not I still stay about the same, so I tend to not watch it! I have an appointment this Monday and am considering getting another fill. Guess I want to know, from those that are happy with their restriction level, how much fill you have in what band and about how much you eat a day. Do you snack all day, keep calorie counts, eat only certain meals each day and so on..... My dietician (from a hospital, not a band doctors!) said my calorie count was good but that I needed less sweets and more fiber. Also said that after losing 100 pounds it might take a few months for my body to adjust and that I should be happy about the loss, that was 2 months ago! I'm not done yet....would like to lose at least another 40 pounds before I'm happy!

Thanks everyone! I still have a ways to go (50 #'s), haven't been doing well since Thanksgiving. Got another fill on Monday and am eating bandster style again. It's amazing how much better I already feel!!!!

You are not going to bloody believe this... i swallowed a fly today!
5jacks replied to thistledo's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Such a good way to start the morning....sorry it happened, but man...that was funny!! I'm sure my kids have swallowed flies (on purpose!!!) over the years and they are still alive. I agree with everyone else, although it's kind of gross I'm sure you'll be fine. Thanks again, and have a good day. -
Okay, Alex is going to attach my pictures for me because I'm an idiot!! Hopefully this works and by tomorrow they will be on here somewhere..... Thanks Alex!!
-
Mindy, I agree with everything you said, you do look at food differently! My one problem is the sweets.....was doing really well till Christmas and can't seem to get them out of my system now. I also went back and read what I wrote....hoping everyone knows that I don't eat that stuff on a daily basis, but it's nice to know I can once in a while!!

Does your DH or SO know how much you weigh?
5jacks replied to cQQlgirl's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Mine definitely knows....was always able to guess fairly close but I wouldn't confirm or deny anything. Then right after surgery it just seemed unfair, he went through all this with me, took care of the kids during and right after surgery and supports me in every way. Finally one day I told him, it's been so nice since then, he follows my weight loss and encourages all the time. -
Would do it again in a second!!!! As for the foods, the only thing I really can't/won't eat any more is McDonalds french fries! Can eat onion rings, tator tots (carefully) and french fries from other places but not McD's. pizza, Subway, soda, Pasta and all that other stuff you mentioned....no problem. Now, just because I say I eat them doesn't mean I go crazy! I can go to McD's, get a side salad and a double cheeseburger off the dollar menu. What I do is throw away the top bun, cut it in half and use the rest of the bun as kind of a holder for the meat. As I'm eating I tear away most of what's left of the bread......making it to where I really only eat about a fourth of the entire bun.....does that make sense? It allows me to have a sandwich with the kids and not have to eat a burger with a fork! Pizza is kind of the same thing, will eat a bite or two, very carefully off the point and then eat the topping off the rest of that slice. Once in a while I even go for the topping on the second peice. Pasta's are not a problem at all. What I do have a little problem with is things like cube steak, or leftover or too dry chicken. I've lost 90 pounds in one year (if the sweets had any trouble going down that number would be a little higher!!), I feel great and am enjoying life again! My family and I went to Worlds of fun and rode rollercoasters this summer, the kids are in 4-H and the County hosted a Laser tag get together last weekend (yes I ran around like a fool!) , going to a roller rink in March....and guess what.....I'm skating! Don't focus on the food or what you're afraid you're going to miss, you'll be so busy living life again that it will be worth it! Good luck!!

Someone please help me.... I can't seem to figure out how to insert a picture. I even had my sister (who works with computers all day!)help me last night and she couldn't figure it out either!! Was on another thread that said to go to Manage attachments (below) and select from my files to attach. I can do that, then I press upload and can't seem to find anything after that! I also can't copy/paste. Anyone know how and can explain it to a computer idiot?????

I totally agree with you on the sweets! Can't stay away from them.....too bad there's not a sweets anonymous. I would be a lifetime member! Sunshine...when you were at 3.8 how much could you eat? My appt. is next Monday and I would like to get another fill, just haven't decided if I really need to get one or if I need to just quit eating! Seems like I eat more now than I did BEFORE my last fill. Doesn't make any sense sometimes....

Hi all....my bandiversary was the 18th. Wanted to share my "stats" with you. The last time I posted pictures they were like 8x10 so only going to try a couple and we'll see what happens..... Never mind....can't figure out how to put a picture in! If anyone can help I could sure use it!! Anyway, started with a personal trainer today for the first time. Ended up doing measurements and realized I've lost a total of 37 inches!! 9 inches in waist and 9 inches in hips alone!! This is such a wonderful experience. I wish I could share pictures.....was feeling kind of mad at myself for not sticking to "dieting" and exercising like I should. Then my bandiversarry came around, took pictures and it's amazing how far I've come!
-
Sunshine....Good luck, when you get a chance let us know how it went! I agree with everything you and Sula have said. Probably need a fill (appt. is next Wed.) but am afraid of doing it! Not sure what "the sweet spot" should actually be. I just ate about 2 inches of a Subway sandwich with no problem. Then again, if I eat something too quick during certain times of the month I can get stuck within a bite or two. The thing is I hardly ever quit because I'm full, usually do so because it's what's measured out. Wish there was a magic chart for fills....ya know!!

Okay, I need help!! For the most part I'm pleased with my loss. 90 pounds since last January 18 isn't bad....just not what I had hoped for! For the last month or two I've struggled like crazy. Have tried going down to as little as 900 calories a day and as high as 1500 calories a day. Either way I can't lose any more. I haven't started exercising and sure that is going to be the next step. Guess my question to everyone is.... When you lost a chunk of weight and then quit losing what did you do to jumpstart it again? I'm really getting mad at myself and that only makes me want to eat, figure not losing while watching it so what the heck! I know that's not the answer but can't seem to get started again......Please all input would be appreciated!!

I know it's late but consider the prayer done on my end!! Good luck and I'll be thinking of you. It's kind of weird though, I just came back from a 6 hour Shooting Safety class through 4-H with my 8 year old twins....how weird is that to read your post first?!?!?!
-
angyl2314....you look great!! Congratulations on losing it all in one year! My surgery was January 18 and was hoping to lose 100 pounds but not looking like I'm going to make it. Still happy with the way things are going though. I can't get over how good you look, are you sure you need a TT? It looks really natural and good in the photos, but if you're like me things just aren't fitting right because of the extra skin. My problem so far is the arms and yours look great!

It took 6 months from seminar to final approval/surgery. I had to do the psych evaluation which consisted of making sure I had support at home and understood what I was getting into. Also had to have a 3 month supervised dietician study, also a joke!! After that I was denied because I hadn't sent proof of 5 years of obesity issues. Called my ob/gyn, chiropractor, and general practitioner and had them fax the paperwork to the office and about a month later was approved! I remember how long it seemed at the time and thought it would never end. It will end and all will be good....just keep with it and don't give up! Wish you all well, I'm sure you won't be disappointed in the end!!

That's such a great feeling!! Congrats on your weight loss! I only have one suggestion....don't resize yet! I quit wearing the rings on my right hand right away for fear of losing them. Wedding ring still fit because as a child I broke my finger at the joint above the ring so it's a little bigger and helped to hold it on. Anyway, it got too loose, took it in to resize and didn't get it small enough, don't know if it was cold/hot that day or what happened but sized it tight and when I got it back it still twirls like crazy!! My jewelers suggestion was to get a spacer or just put a little medical tape on the back till you lose all the weight. Congratulations again, and keep up the good work!

I have a non-existant metabolism too! I've done very little exercising and still have lost 90 pounds. When I was counting calories (which I haven't done since the Holidays started!!) I was usually between 1000-1200 and still lost the weight so....yes it is possible!

Husband says I am addictedt to lapbandtalk!
5jacks replied to juliegeraci's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I haven't been able to get onto LBT for a few months and just recently got everything set to accept my sign on. Used to be my 12 year old son would walk by and say, " let me guess, Lapband stuff?". Yesterday he walked by and said, "Oh, NO!! it's working again!" So yes, my husband and sons would commit me if they could!! I love this web-site and have really missed it! -
Don't know all the exact numbers without looking it up but I do know that I've lost over 10 inches around my waist!! My hips seem to be the problem and also my gut so not sure if I'm much help!!
-
I don't regret it a bit!! Even if I never lose another pound it's the best thing I've ever done. I also did a lot of research and then there was a moment when a child got in trouble for making a "large" remark that it finally hit home I was going to have to do something. After that moment it was gonna happen one way or another....6 months later insurance finally approved and it's been a great ride ever since. Keep researching and good luck!

I hope this works!! It's been a long time since I've posted....issues with being able to get signed on and not being able to get a response back for help. Anyway, I'm able to read what everyone has written and it killed me not to be able to jump into some of the conversations! My surgery was January 18....I've lost 90 pounds, well, had lost 90 pounds until Christmas candy came along!! Will lose the 6 pounds I've gained over the last 2 months plus another 10 pounds by my bandiversary date! That was my original goal, 100 pounds in a year, just seems a lot now that I've eaten everything in sight for the last 6 weeks. I love my band and can't imagine being without it! Even if I don't reach the 100 pounds in the first year I've accomplished sooooo much. Movie theatre seats aren't scarey anymore, went to an amusement park and rode every ride I wanted too, am in a size 16 jean (started at 30/32!), have collar bones, and my kids and husband are proud of me! It's been a fantastic year and even though I wasn't able to talk to you guys on a regular basis, anytime I was down I could get on and "connect" with people going through the same stuff. For that I thank you all, good luck this coming year and if I can't sign back on then know that I'll be watching anyway!!
-
Tonya, good to see you back! Don't get discouraged about gaining a few pounds right now....those pounds will drop right back off as soon as you get mobile again! I'm still having trouble signing on here! Gets frustrating when I can't talk to you guys so have gotten in the habit of not checking in as often so I don't get ticked off! For instance, after I post this and click on the back arrow it won't allow me to sign on again, so this is the one and only post for the night. Had my monthly appt at the surgeons office yesterday....he has me losing another 6 pounds for a total of 81 pounds (he started from first visit last fall, I started counting from two weeks before surgery!). Figured it up and if I'm to hit my 100 pound loss in 1 year then I have to lose 6 pounds a month for the next 4 months! I haven't been excercising or watching what I eat at all so am doing that now with hopes that it will start to drop off a little faster. Harvest is coming up so not sure if that will be a good thing to be busy or bad thing being so busy with kids in football and harvest that we really don't eat well at all?!?!? ANother thing....does anyone have any good exercises for the wing span I've been blessed with? I've also got saggy skin on my upper thighs that I need to work on. Am planning on trying to see a trainer to get some tips but won't be able to make the time until after harvest is over. Hope all is doing well, keep up the good work and keep us posted. May not always post but usually check in once every day or so!
-
Sorry to all....I haven't posted in a really long time! Not my choice, every time I try to sign on it would say I was on but when I tried to post it would say I needed to log in! Anyway, I've been checking on everyone, at least once a day! So even if you feel like you're talking to yourself you're not, I read it all. I've done o.k. this past month.....have lost a total of 77 pounds now (adding that since the last time I tried to change anything it kicked me off and wouldn't even let me post!). Am frustrated with myself though, haven't started exercising and diet is no longer in my vocabulary. I'm eating things now that I would of never eaten before the band. Not sure if it's because all my life I've been on some diet or another and knew those things weren't acceptable or what! Anyway, not sure if I'll be able to get back on here tomorrow so everyone keep up the good work and know that I'm with you on here, even if I don't always show it!!!
