    Howdy from the Texas Gulf!

hi Bonnie welcome to LBT. my suggestion is to read as much as you can here (especially the pre op board). there is also a texas board where you can get local information. good luck!

    Having second thoughts -- AACK!

ive been banded for about 17 months. i can still have a SMALL amount of bread - if i chew well, i love thin crust pizza and to be honest, i've lost my taste for diet coke (used to almost need an IV drip.) the band is one of the best things i've done for myself. good luck

    restriction 3 weeks post op?

exactly ... its intention is not to restrict so much that you cannot eat. its that you cannot eat a lot. you'll do fine. dont leave here cause a few people abuse their bands.

Total Loss Goals - how did you decide?

do you think you'll be needing mat. clothes or do you think you'll just use your 'closet stash' throughout your pregnancy? if you'll need mat clothes, lane giant *sigh* actually has some cute mat clothes... you can pick what you want online and go to the store for free shipping or something like that... ???

I hate it when people post just to post.....

i was just getting ready to post that exact same thing ... if you dont have a disposal, go to the grocery store with the candy in hand and pitch it in one of those nasty bins... sorry you're having to deal with the sugar monster.

    restriction 3 weeks post op?

whoa! that's the 'secret' being overfilled and borderline malnourished?? i think i'd rather experience a plateau... from http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f109/countdown-last-adjustment-unfill-46096/
  13. losingjusme

    Countdown to last adjustment-UNFILL

doesnt sound like the best way to avoid a plateau (see http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f178/restriction-3-weeks-post-op-56317/ for reference...) sounds very unwise and borderline dangerously unhealthy.

Total Loss Goals - how did you decide?

isnt that just the stupidest thing? grrr? what ticks me off even more is the same store, i bought 14s and they fit well ( me... in 14s!!), bought a different style pants, about 2 inches too small ... grrrrrrr

Total Loss Goals - how did you decide?

    - How did you pick your weight loss goal? it was a goal that i though i could make - Do you have the same goal you did when you started? nope, i just lowered by 20 pounds after my plastic surgery. i want to be within a 'normal' BMI - Did you go with the weight suggested by your clinic, or pick something higher or lower, and if so, why? i lowered it on my own. i now know without my pannus i can exercise to my fullest potential and knock the last X pounds off.
  20. hi, welcome to LBT. the time post op is for HEALING and anchoring your band into place, not for weight loss. any weight loss is just a bonus. sounds like you are eating well, how is your movement? are you exercising at all? i know that really helped me post op. good luck.

    Itchy scratchy incisions?

ahhh, just noticed you were in Australia - not sure if they carry it. the aveeno is not a lotion, its an anti-itch cream and it does not require a prescription.
